The Effects of Global Warming on Storms, Floods & Droughts.
Natural Events
Global warming causes climatic extremes and disasters. Some of the natural events that may affect
the lives of people are heat waves, river and ocean flooding, droughts, landslides, storms and
hurricanes and tornadoes.
Effects of Global Warming
As global warming raises the temperature of the Earths surface, these events may become more
frequent. This may have a negative effect on society as the events damage homes and villagers, and
can lead to loss of life.
As the global temperature increases, we would expect the amount of moisture in the
atmosphere to increase, due to an increase in evaporation of water from the surface of the sea. It is
predicted that for every 1C rise in temperature, water vapour in the air over the ocean will increase
by 6% to 8%. Thiswill lead to an increase in rainfall rates in some parts of the world, causing more
frequent floods and landslides. In other parts of the world, a decrease in rainfall may result in very dry
periods.
In order to tackle future increases in extreme weather condition, we must learn how to predict
and cope with them.

InstructionRead the following text and write a summary on ways to ensure school bus safety.
Your summary must not be more than 60 words.
Many accidents happen when children board the bus to and from school. Prevention is the
key to school bus safety. Get to the bus stop at least ten minutes before the school bus is expected
to arrive. This will prevent you from having to run after the bus. While waiting for the bus, always
stay on the sidewalk. If there is no sidewalk, walk on the left against the flow of traffic. When
crossing the street, remember to look to the left, then to right and to the left once more before
crossing. When the bus is approaching the bus stop, take five steps back. Do not rush towards the
bus. Wait until the bus comes to complete stop before climbing onto the bus. Once inside the bus,sit down quietly. Never play inside a bus as this may distract the driver. When getting off the bus,
wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before alighting.
Begin your summary with:
