Carl Jan Cruz is a British-Filipino Lifestyle Artist Designer My work explores the relationship between acquired synesthesia and skateboard ethics. With influences as diverse as Machiavelli and Marcel Duchamp, new synergies are crafted from both simple and complex discourse. Ever since I was a pre-adolescent I have been fascinated by the ephemeral nature of the zeitgeist. What starts out as undefined soon becomes finessed into a tragedy of greed, leaving only a sense of chaos and the chance of a new synthesis. As wavering replicas become frozen through undefined and undefined practice, the viewer is left with a glimpse of the limits of our era.
