The Ministry of Labor extended vocational training in schools and universities; bridging skill gaps and promote youth vocational training programs to elevate professional skills and youth employment.

Trainee’s invention concept stems from the idea to protect human and property from heavy rain and flood in Kaohsiung. With Cheng Shiu University’s course on smart lighting and wireless sensor network, he invented an alert system and was awarded 3rd place at the 2014 invention exhibition.
The alert system detects water level and shuts the water gate when the water level reaches the alert value to prevent cars and property from being flooded.

Under the Dual system vocational training project, Xing-Zhen, Wu, a student from Kao Yuan University, enters Ku Fu fasteners Co., Ltd. The majority male workers are equipped with specialized skills, Xing-Zhen started from the entry level and had to overcome various difficulties until she finally gain the sense of achievement during work. She gradually discovered her interest in what she do and will continue to work harder to fulfill her dream to become an engineer.

Qi-Huang, Xu graduated from National Miao-Li Agricultural & Industrial Vocational High School was luckily accepted to National Taipei University of Technology’s four-year industry- academy-training center co-op program in 2013. He spent much time practicing after class and in his first year, he received Class A technician certificate for refrigerating and air-conditioning. In the following year, he was employed by Yankey Engineering Co., Ltd; started to learn engineering drawing and on-site supervision, with a monthly salary NTD32,000.

With the help the Flagship program, Teng-yi, Huang graduated from National Chin-Yi University of Technology, majored in industrial management, become the sales representative for a furniture company. The company provided organized training programs and within 3 months of in-depth training, Teng-yi, Huang decided to enter this industry. He now possesses knowledge he learned at school and also professional skills in this specific field, earning a monthly salary of NTD38,000.

Cut and Paste Ornamentation is a traditional temple craftsmanship. Zhe-Yan, Xu has been a master for cut and paste ornamentation for 50 years; many of his works can be seen on the temples in Taiwan. Tuo-Wei, Huang graduates from National Taiwan University of Arts, architecture art conversation, decided to participate in the mentoring program for traditional craftsmanship. After one year intensive training, Tuo-wei create many small decorative ceramic pieces and attached them to the cement roofs to complete the entire temple ornamentation. After the mentoring program, he was qualified and employed, continue his talent and motivation in this traditional industry. ◀Tuo-Wei, Huang’s cut and paste ornamentation work “Gui-Jing” (return to peace)
