Carla would definitely leave a gay boyfriendH AVING been tohell and back in the name of love, I often say thatthe more I learn aboutmen, the more I lovegays!
But what if I were in theshoes of Lally Carla Abel-lana s character in GMA 7shit series, My HusbandsLoverwhos married to agay man ( Tom Rodriguez as Vincent)?
Carla is very convincing inher portrayal as the dis-traught wife. You cant helpbut empathize with Lally.Their love triangle (the thirdparty being Dennis Trillo asEric, Vincents lover) may seem askew, but its nonethe-less real.
The actress has finally come into her own. As Lally, she proves that shes morethan just eye candy. Sugarand spice, yet fierce and wise! Wives (mistresses andgay lovers, too!), watch andlearn!
Heres my tte--tte withthe woman most gays are dy-ing to trade places with, Car-la AbeLALLY-ana.
What has My HusbandsLover taught you aboutlove, marriage and gays?
That love cuts across gen-ders. We all have the ability to love, and we all deserve tobe loved. Love is pure, self-less and true. Marriage is sa-cred; it was [established] by God for man and woman. However, with the growingacceptance of same-sex mar-riage all over the world, thetrue concept/purpose of mar-riage is changing. Unfortu-nately, not all are open to ac-cept that. Lastly, gays are hu-man beings, too. They may have different ways of pro-fessing love, but they are nodifferent from men and wom-en that way. They are oftentroubled, too, so we shouldrespect them.
Whats your boyfriends(Geoff Eigenmann) reactionto your intimate sceneswith Tom Rodriguez?
Im not sure if he has seenany of those; I know for surehe has seen the kissingscenes. Sometimes we watchtogether. He understandstheyre part of my job.
What can you say towomen who suspect theirpartners are gay?
Get your facts straight. Atthe end of the day, you arestill husband and wife. Only the two of you should settlethe questions. Listen to, andrespect, each other If youhave kids, they should be the
priority.If your boyfriend or hus-
band were gay?I dread the thought! Playing
Lally, I have an idea how that would feel. Its extremely painful If he were my boyfriend, Id definitely cut therelationship right away. But if he were my husband, thats adifferent story. So many thingsshould be taken into considera-tion. Marriage to me is sacred,so I would do whatever it takesto save it. But then, if he be-lieves in marriage like I do, he will have to turn thingsaround. Otherwise, theres nochance we could be happy everagain as a couple.

FIRST WAS SAN FRANCISCO.2ND KAIJU ATTACK HITS MANILA.
omething out there has discovered us.We always thought that alien life would
come from the stars. But it came from deep beneath the sea, from a portal betweendimensions in the Pacific Ocean.
Through that portal come alien creaturesthat are larger and more ferocious and brutalthan anything we have ever seen: the Kaiju. The first made land in San Francisco. Thesecond attack hit Manila. Then we learn, thisis not gonna stop.
In order to fight monsters, we createdmonsters of our own. To grapple with theKaiju, mankind pulled together all itsresources and invented the largest, most
dynamic and most versatile weapon ever devised. They created the Jaeger Program-towering 25-story-high robots, each operated by two pilots whose minds are neurally linkedtogether.
Man started winning the aliens vs robotswar Then it all changed.
On the verge of defeat, the forces defend-ing mankind have no choice but to turn to twounlikely heroesa washed up former pilot(Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee(Rinko Kikuchi)who are teamed to drive aseemingly obsolete Jaeger. Together, theystand as mankinds last hope against themounting apocalypse.
On July 11, man rises up to go bigor goextinct. From Warner Bros. Pictures andLegendary Pictures comes the sci-fi actionadventure Pacific Rim from acclaimedfilmmaker Guillermo del Toro (PansLabyrinth, Hellboy).
Pacific Rim stars Charlie Hunnam(TVs Sons of Anarchy), Idris Elba(Thor), Oscar nominee Rinko Kikuchi(Babel), Charlie Day (Horrible Bosses),Rob Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins,Jr., Burn Gorman, and Ron Perlman (theHellboy films).

NEWSOME, PERKINS STEAL SCENE
Gallant newbies stamp markBy Randolph B. LeongsonO NE way to get possessions is through re-bounds. And this season, UAAP rivals Ateneoand La Salle will be brandishing their own re-bounding mammoths.
Away from the traditionalcenters which crowd the paint,
bulk of the Blue Eagles andGreen Archers rebounds comefrom these athletic and tirelessforwards who are willing to dothe dirty work for their respec-tive teams.
Ateneos Chris Newsome, who played his high school ballin Rio Rancho High School inNew Mexico, knows apart fromadjusting to the new playing en- vironment here in the Philip-pines, he has to adapt to his
new role for the Blue Eagles.Naturally Im not a four
(power forward), so I just kindof put myself in that position to
help in any way I can, the 6-foot-2 Newsome said. The 22-year-old added,
Were smaller so we expectmore of our baskets in transitionbecause we dont have a big guy to get the ball. Were gonna befaster and quicker, and try to getthe rebounds as a unit.
On the other hand, JasonPerkins has been consistent incrashing the boards eventhough he is sharing the job
with taller La Salle teammates.Though the 6-foot-3 for-
ward from Shakopee SeniorHigh School in Minnesota hasan imposing built, he has ashy demeanor, letting hisgame do the talking.
Its just hard work that I cangive. We target to win every game, Perkins said. The more you work harder, you improveand thats what gets you closerto the championship.
Other than rebounding, these two have an added spunk, with Newsome famed for hisbreakaway dunks while Perkinsis a reliable threat from theperimeter.
The Eagles, however, got off to their worst start since 1997.Not even, Newsomes 27 pointscould rescue Ateneo from losingto archrival De La Salle, 82-73,

GENSAN REVELATION
Lyceums Shane Ko: Pirate on the riseBy Randolph B. LeongsonO PENING their Season 89campaign against the three-time defending champs SanBeda, Lyceum was never seen as athreat to even put a dent on the RedLions armor.
But when nobody expected it, the Piratespulled the upset of the season, a 70-66 shockerbehind point-guard Shane Ko who tallied 23points on a 9-for-13 shooting from the field, grabbed six rebounds, and three assists.
Masarap sa pakiramdam kasi nakatulongako sa team ng malaki, pero credit pa rin sateammates ko kasi kung hindi dahil sa kanila, hindi ako makaka-score, said the Hotel andRestaurant Administration junior, who hailsfrom General Santos City.
But for coach Bonnie Tan, Kos emergenceshows what his lead guard is capable of on thehard court.
He really struggled against the Arellano
Chiefs. Sabi ko sa kanya, ganun talaga angnae-experience ng superstar, na youll be amarked man. Sana hell learn from experienceand be able to adjust on what the defensegives him, said Tan.
Tan downplays the Pirates campaign thisseason without much expectation. Yung goallang namin this season, mababaw pero feasi-ble. Were just trying to surpass our record onour first season (7-11 in Season 87), which isthe best record for a guest team in the NCAA.Tan said they want to prove the critics wrong.
Kami lang yung naniwala na kaya namingtalunin yung San Beda that time, said Ko.
He concludes,Yun ang nagingchallenge sa amin.Sabi nila di kamimananalo saNCAA. Sa sarilinamin, nakatatak sa utak namin nagusto naming patu-nayang mali yungsinasabi nila.

DUNK THE beanpole from Bataan dunks it.

Letrans Almazaneyes grand exit
By Michael Angelo Jugado
I RETURN because basketball is my life. For Ray-mond Almazan, Colegio De San Juan De LetranKnights vastly-improved slotman, returning toIntramuros for his senior year, is easy.
He wants to feed his hunger by lifting the Knights to their 17th title. The 6-foot-7 beanpole likes a grand exit before aiming for bigger thingslike joining the pros. He is expected to be among the top picks in thePBA draft on November.
Almazan said he really worked hard to improve his offense lastsummer to prepare himself to help the Knights who are withoutace playmaker Kevin Alas.
Three games into the season, Almazan is posting impressivenumbers of 15.0 ppg, 20.0rpg, and 5.0bpg that made headsturn since he is more known to be a defensive ace and a re-
bounding machine.Yun talaga (offense) ang pinag-aralan ko nung summer kasi
sabi ni coach Caloy (Garcia) ay kailangan ko talaga yun pag-akyatko ng PBA, said the 23-year-old Almazan. Malaki ang role kothis season sa team as a senior and veteran.
Dapat maging leader ako hindi lang sa loob ng court kundipati rin sa mga teammates ko, he added. Almazan, who was born and raised in Bataan is the cousin of
Barangay Ginebra San Miguel pivotman and fellow Letranite Kerby Raymundo.
No. 1 idol ko talaga si Kuya Kerby. Dinala niya ako sa Letran, shared the graduating Operation Management student.
Improving day by day, Almazan boosted his stock in the upcomingPBA draft because he can defend and score, which he attributes to theteams new system under rookie coach Caloy Garcia who took over thecoaching reins from coach Louie Alas.
Si coach Louie kasi ay more on sa depensa while kay coach Caloy ay kahit sino pwedeng mag-shoot, quipped the 6th in a brood of 9children.
The Knights temporarily lost Almazan midway through last sea-son due to undisclosed reasons but the Prodigal Son came back and helped Letran reach the Last Dance only to lose against theSan Beda Red Lions in three games.
Ang sakit na makita ang team mo na natatalo and wala kangmagawa, rued Almazan after Letran struggled without him last year.
Wake-up call yon (Finals lost). Before Almazan could bang bodies with the big boys in the
PBA, first things first. He knows his ballyhooed comeback willgo to naught if the Knights will not win the title this season.
Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng sumusuporta sa Letran andgagawin namin best namin para makuha 17th championship ngLetran, number 17 pa naman ako, said the lanky center.
Bibigyan namin sila (opponents) ng magandang laban. Almazans love for the gamethe reason for his come-
backmight propel the Knights to the title this seasonbut for Almazan, theres more to life than basketball.
Lumilipas din lahat ng bagay kaya make the mostout of it, stressed Almazan.
Can Almazan complete a storybook finale and towLetran to the top for the first time in eight years?
The NCAA awaits.
