• Puntos: asignar un valor cuantitativo a una acción.
• Niveles: umbrales que se cumplen acumulando puntos.
• Premios: acreditación física o virtual de que se ha alcanzado un objetivo. Lo que llamamos badges o insignias.
• Bienes virtuales: artículos virtuales para expresar la individualidad e identidad. Second Life.
• Clasificaciones: asignar posiciones en comparación al resto de jugadores o compañeros.
• Desafíos: competiciones entre las comunidades o diversos rivales.
• Misiones o retos: afrontar un desafío concreto planteado por el juego.
• Regalos: Ofrecer bienes gratuitos al jugador o entre jugadores.

• El optimismo urgente: los jugadores se caracterizan por una extrema automotivación. Ellos actúan inmediatamente y con decisión para resolver un problema (World of Warcraft).
• Trama social: los jugadores son tejedores virtuosos de una trama social. Así que jugar un juego juntos contruye lazos, confianza y cooperación, haciendo relaciones sociales más fuertes.
• Productividad dichosa: Estamos más felices trabajando mucho que cuando estamos relajados sin hacer nada. Durante el juego hay una optimización de la productividad y se disfruta de ella.
• Prósito épico: A los jugadores les encanta las misiones impresionantes y que son parte de algo más grande.

Tres elementos que deben converger en el mismo momento en que se produzca un comportamiento (de acción positiva): la motivación, la capacidad o habilidad y los desencadenantes o triggers.
El modelo de comportamiento de B. J. Fogg
• La dinámica del juego usa retroalimentación positiva.
• Aumentan la capacidad de percepción de los usuarios, haciendo los trabajos más simples y manejables.
• Los triggers “piden”al usuario la acción, están diseñados para lograr la convergencia entre motivación y capacidad.
El modelo de comportamiento de B. J. Fogg: aspectos claves
“Estar totalmente absorto por la actividad que se realiza. El ego desaparece. El tiempo vuela. Cada acción, movimiento y pensamiento sigue inevitablemente al anterior, como si se tocase jazz. Todo tu ser está implicado, y estás utilizando tus habilidades al máximo” (Csikszentmihalyi, M., 1975).
