Outstanding Benefits
Specifications…
…for flexible fiber optic data cable. The SCHOTT data cable is designed for use
in vehicles and fulfills all requirements outlined in the EU directive 2000/53/EC
(“End of life vehicles”). Depending on the jacket material the cable can be used
in areas with ambient temperatures up to 150 °C.
This temperature resistance together with the properties of resistance against
aggressive media and high flexibility make applications in the engine compartment
or chassis/body possible. As the SCHOTT data cable is a multicore fiber it is
particularly suitable for safety applications.
■ Highest temperature resistance
up to 350 °C■ Minimum long term bending radius
…and rigid fiber optics components. SCHOTT’s rigid fiber optic components
provide the following properties:
■ Temperature resistance up
to 125 °C/150 °C *
■ Low bending radius down
to 5 mm
■ Multicore fiber bundle with
1 mm diameter■ Capability of transferring high
data rates
■ Minimum component size■ Optimum optical transfer
characteristics
Cable specification
SCHOTT has specially designed its light conducting cable for automobile lighting
applications. It fulfills all requirements outlined in the EU directive 2000/53/EC
(“End of life vehicles”).
The lighting systems make it possible to separate the light source spatially from
the light output. Thus you can create high-performance illumination in difficult
restricted spaces.
The use of rigid fiber optic components offers additional solutions for illu-
mination applications.
■ Temperature resistance up to 150 °C■ Customized cable diameter
of 1 to 6 mm
■ High transmission■ Bending radius up to 25 mm with
a bundle diameter of 4.2 mm
