There is absolutely no assembly required except for adding the batteries, and you will need a small Phillips head screwdriver for that task. Also, there are five tactical rails which help your grip, and three attachment points so you can add a sling. There are also front and rear sights, and as with other foam dart projectile toys, older darts may jam infrequently. If they do, the port located beneath the top rail on this blaster allows you to clear the jam quickly.
