Projects Achieved● Painted a Mural● Painted inner and outer wall● Added see saw and tyre swing to the playground● Got to know the kids and help the teachers● Helped teach the kids basic numbers (and learned some Tamil ourselves)
Cookstove Project● Indoor air pollution from from cooking on open fires
inside the home kills more than 2 million people annually● BET has continued this project since 2004● The rural folk use open fire wood burning stoves to cook
during the day and as a source of heat for the night. ● Every year people die from the smoke inhalation due to
stoves inside their houses which burn at night.● Smoke inhalation is also the primary cause of respiratory
diseases in children under 5 years
