ECFE CLASS SCHEDULE:
The Weekly Class will be held on Tuesday mornings
from 9:00 to 10:30 at Lanesboro Public School.
What is Early Childhood
Family Education?
Parents are a child’s first and most significant teachers. ECFE offers classes and
resources for parents and children from birth through kindergarten age. Our clas-
ses and activities help build healthy family relationships and set the stage for par-
ent involvement and children’s success throughout their whole school career.
Who can come to ECFE?
All parents and their kids from infancy to kindergarten are welcome. Parent-Child
Activity where parents meet with a parent educator to share support, experiences,
and information about child development and parenting techniques. Children Ac-
tivity Time where children play and engage in fun learning activities with the
teacher and paraprofessional and practice social skills as they interact.
Cost: $8 per child for the 8 week session ($20 family maximum)
Costs may be waived if needed

since 1988 Lanesboro Public Schools has offered child care ser-
vices for our community. We accept children ages 6 weeks to
12 years old with hours that fit your schedule. Give us a call at

Yoga with Nancy or Linda Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00-10:00 am Yoga is a wonderful exercise for the mind and body. There are active poses that empha-size the balance of strength and flexibility while maintaining alignment. Restorative pos-es create energy and encourage relaxation. Cost: $8/class. Sign-up at class. Active Older Adult Fitness Class – For Men and Women Mondays & Wednesdays 9:00-9:45 am (45-min.) As we age we lose muscle, strength, flexibility and then our balance. To gain back all of these to help gain strength and maintain balance, we do a variety of exercises using hand weights, cardio workouts that are good for the heart, and floor exercises that in-clude core exercises, stretching and a cool down. Cost: $8/class. Sign-up: Call/Text 507-272-3731 Senior Strength & Balance Class (Age 55 and up) Mondays & Wednesdays 1:00-1:45 pm (45-min.) An easy strength and balance class that helps increase strength, balance and flexibil-ity. You may workout sitting or standing using hand weights, stretch bands and hand ball. The exercises are low-impact to help reduce pain and stiffness and attain better balance. The routines include gentle range-of-motion exercises that are suitable for eve-

Learn Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do will continue to be offered at Lanesboro High School Cafeteria
on Thursday nights from 6:00-7:30. The Park Institute of Rochester will again
be teaching this popular form of exercise that teaches personal fitness, mental discipline, self
-confidence, and self-defense. All ages are welcome. Those interested can stop by one of

Morning Weightroom: Join Coach Semmen Monday, Wednes-
day, and Friday during the winter from 7:00-7:40am in the weight-
room. The focus is on sports conditioning whether you are getting
ready for football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, dance,
wrestling, baseball, softball, or track & field.

OPEN STUDIO at Lanesboro Arts!
Join Lanesboro Arts for FREE art making studio hours. You are welcome to use our
space and materials (or bring your own). This is an opportunity for artists and their
friends to create whatever and however they want! Youth ages 10-18 are invited.

Women’s Volleyball League
Come join in for a night of fun, exercise, socializing, and trying not to get hurt! There is a
Facebook page called “Ladies Volleyball” that we ask you to join for scheduling purposes.
We play in the Lanesboro School Gymnasium on Wednesday nights from 7:30pm-9pm.
Our first day will be January 8th, bring your friends, co-workers, neighbors, or family!

EVERGREEN CHRISTMAS GNOME Join us for a festive night of fun as we assemble an Evergreen Christmas Gnome using fresh
greens. Participants are asked to register by Tuesday, November 26th. All materials will be
supplied for each participant to make one gnome. Please bring a pair of garden gloves and
a garden pruner with you the night of the class.

Mommy and Me Group
Whether you are a first time mom or this is your third baby, this group will be an oppor-
tunity for moms to meet with other moms in an environment set up for baby play.
We will meet every third Thursday of the month at the Lanesboro Child
Care Center located within the Lanesboro School building on the corner of
Kirkwood and Parkway. The group is open to moms and their babies (birth

Fabric Marbling for Adults and Teens
Create your own marbled silk scarf. We will practice on
paper and then move on to 100% cotton squares. Makes
a great gift! Class begins at 5:30pm
December 10th High School Art Room
Cost: $20
Class Limit: 12 participants (ages 13 and up)
Needle Felted Gnome or Simple Woodland Creature
Learn the basics of needle felting while making your very
own little creature. Several examples to pick from to
make this project with your own flare. All supplies and
tools provided. Children enrolled must be accompanied by a parent! Ages 8 and
over. Class begins at 6:00pm
November 20th High School Art Room
Cost: $15 Class Limit: 20 participants

If you missed the first class, here is your chance. Took the first class, then take the
class again and make something different! Children enrolled must be accompanied

December 17th High School Art Room
Cost: $15 Class Limit: 20 participants
Basic Clay Handbuilding
Create a bowl to donate to the Art, Special Education, Leadership, and FCCLA
team project of Empty Bowls coming this February and create your own artwork.
Participants will be shown simple hand building techniques to create your own origi-
nal work. Skills will include rolling, slipping and scoring, and texturizing. This is a multi-
ple day class: two days to build, one day to glaze, and one day to pick up your
work. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Class begins at 6:00pm
January 7 & 9 (build) January 21 (glaze) High School Art Room
Cost: $10 Class Limit: Minimum of 5, Max of 15
Glass Mosaics
Design and complete your own mosaic tile. Participants can bring in small objects
to incorporate in their own design, like buttons, keys, broken china pieces, rocks, etc.
Please bring thin work gloves. Glass and other supplies will be provided. Class begins
at 6:00pm

WINTER PROJECT DAY
Hosted by the Lanesboro Livewires 4-H Club
Take some time during the winter break to try something new! Plans are in the works
to hold a “project day” on the morning of Monday, December 30th. This time in the
middle of winter break will include a variety of classes for students Kindergarten and
up. Built on the 4-H motto of “Learning by Doing”, these will be hands-on activities.
