28. On-going Projects(1/2) Fixed broadband speed test Authority
(NCC) is undergoing fixed broadband speed test from 2013 until 2015
Methodologies: installing hardware box (Whitebox) in user side Test
Areas In 2013, six metropolitan areas (Taipei City, New Taipei
City, Taoyuan County, Taichung City, Tainan City and Kaohsiung
City) In 2014, Western counties (excluding 6 metropolitan areas) In
2015, Eastern counties and islands Connections: xDSL, FTTx and
Cable User side Source: NCC 27
29. On-going Projects(2/2) Mobile broadband speed test NCC
continues to do the mobile broadband performance tests in 2013
Methodologies: Static test, Moving test and panel test Measuring
Area Static test in metropolitan areas of Chinese Taipei Moving
test on freeways, high speed railway, railway and provincial road
Measuring Item Website speed test Download speed test Upload speed
test 28
30. Conclusion ISPs were asked to provide customers full and
understandable information; ISPs should list the information on
their websites From the result of the third-partys test, ISPs were
continuously improving their broadband performance last year NCC
plans to conduct further measuring research of fixed (by whitebox)
and mobile broadband speed from 2013 Expected subscriber benefits
from the transparency of broadband measurements 29
