To illustrate one way to pray the Lords Prayer, I have often
asked people to, picture the words of the Lords Prayer on a
computer screen. Then, pick out one word, underline it and put it
in blue font. That says it is a hyperlink that will take you to
other pages, with other truths about that word. People have asked,
Where is that screen? Well, here it is. I trust it will assist you
in deepening your relationship with Jesus. Even though it is fairly
extensive, it certainly is not exhaustive. Advance to the next
slide, move the mouse until the curser appears and click on the
word(s) of your choice. (c) 2010 Dennis Fuqua - All rights

Note the value of praying in the plural Jesus gave this prayer
using plural pronouns (our and us) It was the regular practice of
the early church to prayer together: Acts 1:14, 2:42, 4:24, 12:12,
Colossians 1:3-4, 9-14, 4:2-4Acts 1:142:424:24 12:12Colossians
1:3-49-144:2-4 There is great value in praying in agreement with
others: Matthew 18:19Matthew 18:19 It is and will be one way we
pray in heaven: Revelation 4:8-11, 5:9-14 Revelation 4:8-115:9-14

9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have
not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the
knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and
understanding. 10 And we pray this in order that you may live a
life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing
fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being
strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that
you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12 giving
thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the

8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was
covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night
they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,
who was, and is, and is to come." 9 Whenever the living creatures
give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who
lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before
him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and
ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: 11 "You are
worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for
you created all things, and by your will they were created and have

9 And they sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood
you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people
and nation. 10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to
serve our God, and they will reign on the earth. 11 Then I looked
and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon
thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the
throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice
they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and
wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" 13
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the
earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who
sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory
and power, for ever and ever!" 14 The f our living creatures said,
"Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped. Return to Our/us

1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we
should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The
reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has
not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears,we shall
be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 Everyone who has this

12 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligationbut it is not to
the sinful nature, to live according to it. 13 For if you live
according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit
you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14
because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to
fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry,
"Abba, Father." 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit
that we are God's children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are
heirsheirs of God and co- heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in
his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. Return

1 What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he
is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. 2
He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his
father. 3 So also, when we were children, we were in slavery under
the basic principles of the world. 4 But when the time had fully
come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, 5 to
redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of
sons. 6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into
our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." 7 So you are
no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made
you also an heir. Return to Father Return to Father Return to

gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. 20 I walk in the way of
righteousness, along the paths of justice, 21 bestowing wealth on
those who love me and making their treasuries full. 22 "The LORD
brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of
old; 23 I was appointed from eternity, from the beginning, before
the world began. 24 When there were no oceans, I was given birth,
when there were no springs abounding with water; 25 before the
mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was given
birth, 26 before he made the earth or its fields or any of the dust
of the world. 27 I was there when he set the heavens in place, when
he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep, 28 when he
established the clouds above and fixed securely the fountains of
the deep, 29 when he gave the sea its boundary so the waters would
not overstep his command, and when he marked out the foundations of
the earth. 30 Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled

12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or
with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held
the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the
scales and the hills in a balance? 13 Who has understood the mind
[a] of the LORD, or instructed him as his counselor? 14 Whom did
the LORD consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right
way? Who was it that taught him knowledge or showed him the path of
understanding? 15 Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket;
they are regarded as dust on the scales; he weighs the islands as
though they were fine dust. 16 Lebanon is not sufficient for altar
fires, nor its animals enough for burnt offerings. 17 Before him
all the nations are as nothing; they are regarded by him as
worthless and less than nothing. 18 To whom, then, will you compare
God? What image will you compare him to? 19 As for an idol, a
craftsman casts it, and a goldsmith overlays it with gold and
fashions silver chains for it. 20 A man too poor to present such an
offering selects wood that will not rot. He looks for a skilled
craftsman to set up an idol that will not topple. 21 Do you not
know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the
beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded? 22
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are
like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and
spreads them out like a tent to live in. 23 He brings princes to
naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. 24 No
sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they
take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and
a whirlwind weeps them away like chaff. 25 "To whom will you
compare me? Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One.a Return to

Holiness is Gods most outstanding attribute: See Isaiah 6:2-3
and Revelation 4:8Isaiah 6:2-3 Revelation 4:8 Several things are
referred to as Holy in Scripture: i.e. Ground,- Exodus 3:5; A Day,-
Exodus 20:8; Priests,- Exodus 29:1a; The Most Holy Place, - Exodus

we treat other things. Gods holiness speaks more of His
distinction, or uniqueness than His perfection. There is none like
Him. See Isaiah 43:10-11, 44:6, 45:5-6, 18, 21, 22Isaiah

desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to
know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his
commands. 3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding
you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to
teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word

21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times
shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven
times?" 22 Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but
seventy-seven times. 23 "Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a
king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he
began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents [b]
was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master
ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had
be sold to repay the debt. 26 "The servant fell on his knees before
him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back
everything.' 27 The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the
debt and let him go. 28 "But when that servant went out, he found
one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He
grabbed him and began to choke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he
demanded. 29 "His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him,
'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back. 30 "But he refused.
Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he
could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had
happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their
master everything that had happened. 32 "Then the master called the
servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that
debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn't you have had
mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' 34 In anger his
master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he
should pay back all he owed. 35 "This is how my heavenly Father

heart."b Return to AS we forgive Return to Prayer (c) 2010 Dennis

We are never more like Jesus than when we forgive. How do we
forgive others? 1. Remember the offense: We dont have to work at
this, do we? 2. Recognize it as sin: Jesus forgives sin, not
mistakes or bad habits: Matthew 1:21, 1 John 1:9Matthew 1:211 John
1:9 3. Remember the cross: The cross is the solution to your sin
and this sin: 2 Corinthians 5:21,2 Corinthians 5:21 4. Release it:
This is the essence of forgiveness: Matthew 18:27Matthew 18:27 5.
Reverse it: Bless instead of curse: Luke 6:27-28Luke 6:27-28 6.

13 When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For
God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but
each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged
away and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives
birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,
21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all
generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Return to Glory Return to

11 "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and
honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they
were created and have their being. 12 In a loud voice they sang:
"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and
wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" Return to

There are two time words in this prayer: today and forever.
Part of the purpose of prayer is to let today be affected by
eternity and eternity be affected by today. Our best prayers are
not those that, when answered, only affect the here and now, but
are those that, when answered, affect eternity. Return to Prayer

This word means more than simply, I agree. It is a word of
receptivity. As we conclude our prayers, this word does far more
than simply let others know we are finished. It means we anticipate
receiving the answers to our prayers because we have prayed
according to the pattern He gave us. Return to Prayer (c) 2010
