Tell me why you deny us water,O you people of Shaam, readers of

Muhammad’s Kalimah?

وں، یں ہکیا میں محّمان آیا ن ہوں یں ر کا جايا ن ہکیا میں ز ہ ہ ہ

Kya mein mehmaan aaya nahin hoon?Kya mein Zehra ka jaya nahin hoon?

Did I not come here as a guest?And am I not the son of Zehra?

و پانی، ہمجھ پ کیوں بند کرت ے ہوں یں ہ کیا محّم�د کا پیارا ن ہ

�د ہمیرا بابا مشکل کشا، میری مادر بھی سی ہے ہےہ میرا بیٹا زین البا، میر نانا کا کلّم پڑھا ے ہے

Mera baba hai Mushkil-kusha, meri maadar bhi hai SaiyadaMera beta hai Zain-ul-aba, meray nana ka Kalimah parha

My father is Mushkil-kusha, and my mother is Saiyada

My son is Zain-ul-aba, and he read my grandfather’s Kalimah

و، کیا میں ۓساےجس ک ہکو تم ڈھونڈت ےوں یں ی سایا ن ہاس کا ہ ہ

Jis ke saaye ko tum dhoondtay ho, kya mein uss ka hi saya nahin hoon

The image of the person you search for, am I not that very image

و پانی، ہمجھ پ کیوں بند کرت ے ہوں یں ہ کیا محّم�د کا پیارا ن ہ

یں، علم تقوی4 ہدسترس میں میری کیا نشجاعت یقین

ہمیر پیروں ک نیچ زمین، جس پ ے ے ےےرکھیں فرشت جبیں

Dastaras mein meri kya nahin, ilm taqwa shuja’at yaqeenMeray pairon ke neechay zameen, jis pe rakhain farishtay

In distress what do I have with me, just knowledge, piety, courage and belief

This ground beneath my feet, is where the angels prostrate

وں، کوئی ٹوٹا ل جن ی سردار ا ہمیں ہ ہ ہوں یں ہستار ن ہ ہ

Mein hi sardar-e-ahl-e-jannah hoon, koi toota sitara nahin hoon

I am the leader of the people of paradise, not a fallen star

و پانی، ہمجھ پ کیوں بند کرت ے ہوں یں ہ کیا محّم�د کا پیارا ن ہ

ےتم ن مطلوب لکھ کئی، آئی جلد ابن علی ے ےوئی، شّمع اسالم بجھن لگی ےدین کی روشنی کم ہ

Tum ne matloob likhay kai, aayiye jald Ibn-e-AliDeen ki roshni kam hui, sham-e-Islam bujhnay

You wrote me many invitations, come quickly son of Ali

The light of religion has diminished, and the flame of Islam is going out

وں، خود مدین س ا تھا میں آ گیا ےتم ن چا ہ ہ ہ ےوں یں ہآیا ن ہ

Tum ne chaha tha mein agaya hoon, khud Medinay se aaya nahin hoon

You wanted it, so I have come, I did not come here of my own desire

و پانی، ہمجھ پ کیوں بند کرت ے ہوں یں ہ کیا محّم�د کا پیارا ن ہ

، آگ لگتی گھر میں لگ ےمیری گردن پ خنجر چل ہے ے ہاتھ دوں گا ن اپنا تجھ ، ر کی چادر چھن ےبنت ز ہ ہ ے ہ ہ

Meri gardan pe khanjar chalay, aag lagti hai ghar mein lagay

Bint-e-Zahra ki chadar chinay, haath doon ga na apna tujhay

Whether a dagger severs my neck, or my house gets burnt down

Or the shroud of Zehra’s daughter gets taken, I will not give my hand in allegience to you

ہےاتھ میرا دست خدائی، میں تو منکر خدا ہوں یں ہکا ن ہ

Haath mera hai dast-e-khudai, mein to munkir khuda ka nahin hoon

My hand represents the hand of God, I am not one who denies the existence of God

و پانی، ہمجھ پ کیوں بند کرت ے ہوں یں ہ کیا محّم�د کا پیارا ن ہ

ر ل آ و چھین کر �اس کو دوں اگر، ن ہحکم عب ۓ ے ہر موج پر و گی زیرو زبر، الشیں تیریں گی ہکربل ہ ہ

Hukm Abbas ko doon agar, nehr le aaye woh cheen karKarbala ho gi zer-o-zabar, laashain tairain gi har mauj

If I give Abbas the command, he will go and win the river

Karbala will be devastated, and there will be bodies everywhere

تا جنگ کرنا، فوج لڑن کو الیا یں چا ےمیں ن ہ ہوں یں ہن ہ

Mein nahin chahta jang karna, fauj larnay ko laya nahin hoon

I did not come here to fight a battle, and I have not brought any army with me
