D & D cont’d.

Mr. J‐ “Well, I have so many fun times with D&D, but the one that sticks out the most to me is when I defeated my master’s final boss. I annoyed him so much! The thing is, I had no idea what I was doing! That’s what annoyed him so much. I kept his final boss locked up so he couldn't move for 20 turns. Nearing the end of the game, I asked who won and everyone looked at me with bank faces and said I didn't have to rub it in their faces. I was so confused. That is of of my best memories with D&D; that time I defeated my master.

SM‐ “Do you think the buzz about D&D will die down and it will become forgotten?”Mr. J‐ “ D&D will grow into initial success. It is a long game and you have to stick to it. However, I have so much fun playing it and am loving introducing it to my students. I hope to run it again next year.”

SM‐ “Do your characters resemble you? Or do you give them traits you wish you had?”Mr. J‐ “My characters definitely do not resemble me in any way. Yes, I give my characters traits I wish I had, like being funny. My characters are weird and different, and that’s saying it in a good way. I make my characters really abnormal, not at all like me.

Did you know that the thoughts you think repeatedly are laying down tracks, or pathways in your brain? This is one reason why those sincerely positive people you know almost ALWAYS see things optimistically....they have optimistic tracks that make it really easy for other thoughts to slide into an optimistic track too.

Of course the opposite is true as well. When we think or say negative things repeatedly, that kind of thinking can become a habit that is hard to change because of those darned negative tracks (which are actually called neural pathways).

Want to be more positive? Make an active CHOICE to think that way. Over time it becomes easier.

….is something you don't really notice at first; it's scary and life changing, can pull

you back and set you behind. It can make you feel lost and different and confused. It

can make you not yourself, but stopping to breathe and taking a moment to yourself,

realizing you are stuck in the past or in the future, worrying about things that scare

you or frustrate you, realizing you need to focus on what's in the moment right now.

There are ways to be aware of anxiety; there are ways to not be afraid; there are

ways to handle not being able to do what you want ...with time.  I know because I've

Stretching, over plains and over fields,A being to which all things must yield.Flowing silently, as a life force of the Earth.Spiralling through the heavens, it creates a new birth.Another time, between now and then.When the world knew of goodness, and so did men.Gathering, forsaking, and creating anew.Imprinting on the Earth, trials to those chosen few.Wipe clean all that is known.Set them free; watch how they’ve grown.Moving quickly, forever changing pace.Do not interfere, for it is not your place.In the end, when there is none but you.Hope is the goal you shall pursue.
