       Mia, a socially awkward 15-year-old girl, is told that her father is the Prince of Genovia and she is the sole heir to the throne. She must decide, by her sixteenth birthday, whether she will live as a princess and move to Genovia or remain in San Francisco where she lives with her artist mom. Meanwhile, she’s pressed into taking princess lessons from her grandmother. And the change of her identity also has influenced her relationship with her best friend Lily. She was scared and refused to being a princess. But after reading her father’s letter and her mother’s encouragement, she finally chose to be forevermore the princess of Genovia.

But one day she was told that she was the princess of Genovia. And her life began to change…

Helen, Mia's mother, is a painter. She got divorce with Mia’s father because she wanted freedom not the rules and regulations for the rest of life. She is humorous and enlightened.

Charlotte, the secretary of the queen, is in good taste. She is very efficient and kind.

Lily is Mia’s best friend who is the host of a cable show. She is a lovely outgoing girl.

Joe, the bodyguard of

Clarisse. Though he is short-spoken, he is very loyal. He is really a gentleman.

Paolo is the stylist. He is a big mouth, but he is very professional.

Mia is a 15-year-old teenager. She is very ordinary and unconfident .She lives with her single mother.

Before Mia’s sixteenth birthday, her mother asks her to meet Mia’s grandmother ,an elegant lady.

Her grandmother tells her that she is the princess of a small European country because of the recent death of her long-absent father, who, unknown to her, was the crown prince of Genovia.

Mia feels very incredible, but she must make a choice between continuing the life of a San Francisco teenager or stepping up to the throne before sixteen..

She's pressed into taking princess lessons from her grandmother.

And at last, Mia’s image looks likes a real princess.

But Mia’s status is exposed. The medias begin to disturb Mia’s life.

And Mia’s friends also make her into an embarrassing position because of jealous.

Mia feels so frightened , and she wants to escape the reality.

Fortunately, Mia becomes confident again with her father’s diary and confront the life bravely.

Finally, Mia becomes the princess of Genovia.

Mia begins her new life as a princess, and the princess diaries is turned into a new page…

Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all.
