HISTORY OF VOLLEYBALL

In 1895, a German man named, William Morgan decided he would rework the rules of a slow paced game called “Faustball”.

At the end of World War 2, The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) was formed.

The FIVB is now the organizer of the international championship to this day.

Volleyball was accepted into the Olympics in 1964 at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The FIVB estimates that on this day there are over 500 million active athletes participating in the sport worldwide.

A point is scored on every score of the ball

Each game is played to 25, but you must win by 2 points.

Third set is a game to 15 and must also be won by 2 points.

You are allowed 3 touches per side (block does not count as a touch)
