I am pleased to announce that the fourth fib-Congress will take place in Mumbai, India, in February 2014. I welcome all the delegates to visit Mumbai which is centrally located to western Indian states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa. Mumbai, one of the financial centre of Asia, is not only the commercial capital of India, but also the construction capital of the country, and home to over 11.8 million people.
In 2014, we in India will be at the peak of construction activities taken up in the country in all infrastructural fields such as Urban Development, Roads, Railways, Ports and Harbours, Energy and Irrigation etc. All of these will be evidenced in Mumbai, in addition to the wealth of contributions from over 50 countries of the world describing applications and developments of structural concrete – a hallmark of any fib-Congress.
Furthermore, culturally rich surrounding areas of Mumbai have many attractions of tourist interests and many UNESCO heritage sites. For those who wish to combine a relaxing holiday with the Congress, beaches and hill stations are close by.
