USDA Food pyramid USDA food pyramid is a pyramid shaped guide of

healthy foods divided into sections to show the recommended intake for each food group.

The food pyramid course outlines a five major food groups which are Vegetables

Fruits

Oils

Dairy

Meat and beans

Vegetables:

A vegetable is a part of a plant consumed by humans that is generally savory but is not sweet.

Vegetables contain many vitamins and minerals; however, different vegetables contain different spreads, so it is important to eat a wide variety of types.

Vegetables are very low in fats and calories, but ingredients added in preparation can often add these.

Fruits:

fruits are the sweet-tasting seed-bearing parts of plants, or occasionally sweet parts of plants which do not bear seeds.

These include apples, oranges, plums, bananas, etc. Fruits are low in calories and fat and are a source of natural sugars, fiber and vitamins.

Oils

The food pyramid advises that fats be consumed sparingly.

Butter and oils are examples of fats.

Dairy:

Dairy products are produced from the milk of mammals, most usually but not exclusively cattle.

They include milk, yogurt and cheese.

Meat and beans

The meat group is one of the major compacted food groups in the food guide pyramid.

Many of the same nutrients found in meat can also be found in foods like eggs, dry beans, and nuts, such foods are typically placed in the same category as meats, as meat alternatives.

Lean meats and fish are high in protein, which contain amino acids and are the building blocks to a healthy lifestyle.

The natural fat in fish will even help us burn off more fat during those intense workouts

Vegetables:

Vegetables are very important to use the paleo diet weight loss because they are low in fat, but are packed with vitamins and minerals.

Fruits:

Eating fruit on a daily basis will make your path to a lean body just that much faster.

Most fruits are packed with dietary fiber, which helps the body ward off cholesterol and fats in the body

Nuts and berries:

Nuts and berries are just about the healthiest snack on the earth

Berries are low in calories, and high in benefits
