20 years training in Cardiac Catheterization laboratory, Cardiology

department, Cairo University including coronary diagnostic and

interventional procedures, intravascular ultrasound imaging, temporary

pacemaker insertion, hemodynamic studies and balloon valvuloplasty

procedures (assistant 1996 - 2000, primary operator since 2000).

Introducing the Intravascular Ultrasound {IVUS} technology in the

Cardiology department in Cairo University 1999, {after returning from

the training coarse in the states}, instituting a full training program for

IVUS, and conducting multiple research work in collaboration with other

universities in Egypt to spread the IVUS technology and its use allover my

country

* Management of all cardiovascular emergencies in the Coronary Care Unit since

1994, including all the practical skills required in the coronary care “central

lines, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, pericardial and pleural tapping,

endotracheal intubations and mechanical ventilation”.

* Intermediate Coronary Care Unit practice since 1994.

* 18 years practice in the Non-Invasive Cardiac laboratory including trans-

thoracic echocardiography, halter monitoring analysis, treadmill exercise test

and signal-average ECG.

* Participating in a weekly teaching ward round with the cardiology department

staff, all the cardiology residents and postgraduate students.

* Actively participating in the monthly teaching course of cardiovascular diseases,

arranged by the Cardiology department for the under-graduate students.

* Actively participating in the weekly conference of the Cardiology and Cardio-

thoracic surgery departments in Cairo University, with interesting clinical case

presentations and prepared talks about recent advances in the Cardiovascular

diseases.

* Actively participating in the weekly conference for echocardiography in the

Cardiology department, by presenting the interesting and educational

echocardiographic cases that were encountered during the week.

* Actively participating in the weekly conference for Cardiac catheterization in the

Cardiology department, by presenting interesting and educational diagnostic and

interventional coranary procedures that were performed during the week,

together with coronary intravascular ultrasound case presentations.

* Continously participating by prepared talks, lectures and presentation in the

annual meetings of the Egyptian Society of Cardioloy in Egypt and Arab

countries, aiming at teaching the advances in basic knowledge and the changes in

the contemporary practice of Cardiology with special interest in the fields of

Coronary artery disease, interventional Cardiology, hypertension and heart

failure.

Regularly attending the American college of Cardiology meeting {ACC},

The European Society of Cardiology meeting {ESC}, and the Paris coarse of

revascularization {EURO-PCR} and Transcatheter Cardiovascular

Theraputics {TCT} conference every year since 1998, presenting accepted

poster and oral abstracts in some of these meetings

Regularly attending, and frequently organising, the Egyptian Society of

Cardiology and the Egyptian hypertension Society meetings in Egypt .
