Market Dynamics Issuing is the most profitable business for banks while acquiring is no longer profitable.
Profitability in issuing entails high transaction volumes, which require a large POS network and a large merchant portfolio, necessitating heavy investments in infrastructure and significant operational costs.
Currently, large banks, which have already established their networks, prefer to keep their operations in-house. Medium and small sized banks consider POS outsourcing.
Due to sophisticated loyalty applications, each bank installs its own POS terminals at merchant locations and builds its own network.
UKH currently has 4 medium-sized financial institutions as customers in POS outsourcing: Fortis (formerly Dışbank), Şekerbank, Asya Finans and Finansbank.
