1. USB Drives: Thesis Manual and Two Templates
2. Installment Submissions October 30, 2016 @ 11:59 PM January 22, 2017 @ 11:59 PM February 26, 2017 @ 11:59 PM
3. Final Thesis April 9, 2017 @ 11:59 PM eCampus first for format STSS second for faculty advisor approval and embargo selection
The Presentation
1. Public presentation outside of your department National/International meetings and conferences are
encouraged! Travel award: Up to 21 students, $300
2. Oral or Poster Presentation Poster printing: Up to 150 students, $32
3. Student Research Week (March 27-31, 2017)
4. Presentation Report April 2, 2017 @ 11:59 PM

Teams
1. Joint thesis document with co-authors
2. Designated Primary Contact (PC) PC submits installments on behalf of the entire team If PC cannot make an installment submission, another team
member needs to submit
3. ALL individual team members must submit Progress Reports
4. ALL individual team members must participate in a public presentation (group presentation preferred) and submit the Presentation Report
Research Compliance
1. Types Human Subjects (IRB) Vertebrate Animals (IACUC) Biohazards and Infectious Agents (IBC)
2. Must be approved through Research Compliance & Biosafety (RCB) office before any data collection
3. Internal Verification Process between UGR and RCB
4. Drop-in IRB Session October 24 from 9:30-10:30 AM in Henderson Hall 103
5. Talk to your faculty advisor about other training needed
Priority Registration
1. Applications approved before October 1 received priority registration. This is the same registration slot as Honors students.
2. Use this time wisely to plan out your research schedule.
Course Enrollment
1. None required, but 491 (0-4 credit hours) is recommended. Talk to your faculty advisor and academic advisor in your college or department
2. Honors Credit or Capstone Speak with a University Honors Program advisor, or your college or departmental honors or
academic advisor.
3. Optional Thesis Writing Course (UGST 405-900) SPRING SEMESTER ONLY 1-credit hour Writing intensive (W) designation IF approved by your academic department Topics: Thesis content and style, bibliographic resources, abstracts, academic publishing,
copyright and digital citizenship, citation software, and oral presentations.
Research Allocations
1. Under new directives from Scholarships & Financial Aid
2. Poster Printing UGR will provide posters for a maximum of 150 students up to $32.00 on a first-come, first-
served basis through the College of Architecture Help Desk. Email [email protected] to obtain a poster printing voucher and further instructions.
3. Conference and Travel Up to 21 travel awards for $300 are available on a first-come, first-served basis to make a public
presentation of your Research Scholars project at a national or international conference or meeting. Contact us at [email protected] before making a purchase to verify that the expenses can be covered.
