-To form the present continuous tense, use the perfect tense of the verb+the base form of the verb with an ‘– ing’ ending.

-Жирийн одоо цагийг бүтээхдээ be үйл үгийн одоо цагийн араас ‘-ing’ төгсгөлтэй үйл үгийн үндсийг залгана.

Positive form-Батлах хэлбэр

Negative form-Үгүйсгэх хэлбэр

-To make a negative, put “not” between be and the verb + ing

-Үгүйсгэх хэлбэрийг үүсгэхдээ be ба verb + ing -ийн дунд “not” –ийг бичнэ.

Example: You aren’t working

Та нар ажиллахгүй байгаа.

She isn’t eating.Тэр юм идэхгүй байгаа.

-One use of this tense is to talk about an action that is happening now. Use this time expressions.

Now, right now, at the moment

-Энэ цагийг одоо болж байгаа үйл явдлын тухай өгүүлэхэд хэрэглэнэ. Доорх цагийн угтваруудыг хэрэглэдэг. Одоо, яг одоо, тэр агшинд

Example:

I’m writing a letter write now.

Би яг одоо захиа бичиж байна.

- Use this tense to talk about an action that’s a temporary of a situation that use changing.

-Төлөв байдлын түр зуурын өөрчлөлтийн тухай ярихад энэ цагийг хэрэглэдэг.

Example:

These days more and more woman are working.

Ойрын үед илүү олон эмэгтэйчүүд ажил хийж байна.

- Some verbs are not usually used in the present continuous tense. This verbs don’t report action. They describe experience, conditions or states.

-Зарим үйл үгүүд жирийн одоо цагт ихэвчлэн хэрэглэгддэггүй. Эдгээр үйл үгүүд үйл явдлыг илтгэдэггүй. Харин дадлага, туршлага, нөхцөл, байдал, төлвийг тодорхойлдог.

- It expresses action, that has definetely long time with continuation within in present simple tense.

- Одоо цагтаа багтаж харьцангуй удаан хугацаанд үргэлжлэн буй үйл явдлыг илэрхийлнэ.

Example:

This year he is learning French.

Энэ жил тэр Франц хэл үзэж байгаа.

- If expresses action is going to become soon in the future.

-Ойрын ирээдүйд болох үйл явдлыг илэрхийлнэ.

- One action is redone at the same time another one can continue.

- Үйл явдал давтагдахад өөр нэг үйл явдал давхцан үргэлжилж болно.

Example:

I wear my glasses when I’m reading.

Би ном уншиж байх үедээ нүдний шилээ зүүдэг.

- Can express action is repeated. It usually expresses condition of get upset. Use the following words: Always, forever, constantly, continuously.

- Давтагдах үйл явдлыг илэрхийлж болно. Ингэхдээ уурлаж уцаарлах байдлыг илэрхийлэх нь олонтой. Энэ тохиолдолд: ямагт, үүрд, үргэлж, байнга, тасралтгүй зэрэг үг хэрэглэдэг.

Example:

The man neat door is constantly drinking vodka and shouting loudly during the night.

Хажуу айлын хүн байнга архи ууж шөнийн турш чангаар хашгичих юм.

She is always coming in late at night and disturbing every one.

Тэр эмэгтэй үргэлж шөнөөр ирж төвөг удах юм.
