Tung Chau Street Parkwas built in 1990. It used to be located along the waterfront. 景景Due to the West Kowloon Reclamation in the 1990s, the waterfront has become Chui Yu
觀Road and Sham Mong Road.
The softscape and hardscape in
the park complement each other to form interesting 空spaces. The large banyan trees (Ficus microcarpa) flanking both sides of the entrance create a
間間 grand arch at the Tung Chau Street entrance. A fountain in the open plaza is surrounded by an octagonal corridor with beautiful Flame of the Forest (Delonix regia) planted along one side. Moving through the plaza towards the western end of the park is a more secluded space enclosed by trees with water feature and winding paths.

Nam Cheong Street Sitting-out Area consists of six small rectangular parks that are situated between two carriageways along Nam Cheong Street. The site used to be a stream that flowed towards the sea, but was converted into a nullah, then a market and now a sitting-out area. This sitting-out area does not only serve as a central divider for traffic calming, but also a green buffer amidst the busy traffic and a secluded resting spot with tree shade.

Sham Shui Po Park is the site of the former Sham Shui Po Camp, which was used for prisoners of war during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong between 1941 and 1945. Several trees were planted in 1989 and 1991 by Hong Kong Prisoners of War Association and Hong Kong Veterans Association of Canada to commemorate the soldiers who died in the war and prison camps.

City University of Hong Kong is located at the northeastern edge of Sham Shui Po District, with Lion Rock to its north and adjacent to the Kowloon Tong MTR Station. The University has an interesting path along the slope parallel to Tai Chee Avenue. The walk connecting To Yuen Building, Academic 1 and Cheng Yick-chi Building is an attractive outdoor route for a stroll. Designed in classical Chinese garden style, the scenery along the winding path is enriched with waterfalls, streams, pavilions, shade trees and landscape plants, which add a hint of sophistication to the landscaped space.
