On  14th  December  2016,  our  LKP  students  invited  their  mummies  and  daddies  to  school  to  share  their  learning  of  their  second  unit  ‘Cities  can  develop  and  change’  under  the  transdisciplinary  theme  ‘Where  we  are  in  place  and  time.’    During  this  unit  the  LKP  inquired  into  how  and  why  Hong  Kong  has  developed  and  changed.  They  visited  the  Hong  Kong  Museum  of  History,  built  and  created  their  own  cities  and  learnt  about  the  concepts  of  form,  change  and  causation.    The  children  presented  some  of  their  learning  and  understanding  from  the  units  in  small  groups,  sang  some  Putonghua  songs  and  then  led  their  parents  around  various  learning  engagements  within  the  classroom  to  demonstrate  their  developing  skills  and  knowledge.    The  children  were  proud  and  excited  to  invite  their  parents  into  their  classrooms  and  to  take  the  lead  in  sharing  their  work  and  learning.  We  hope  the  parents  enjoyed  the  experience  too!    Here  are  some  photographs  from  the  SLC:

KidsFest  2017

This  year,  Kidsfest  once  again  provided  an  opportunity  for  the  children  to  experience  a  live  performance  and  learn  about  audience  etiquette.    The  Pre-‐Nursery  classes  went  to  watch  the  dramatic  performance  “Shark  In  The  Park”  on  Wednesday  11th  January;  The  Nursery  and  the  LKP  classes  went  to  watch  “The  First  Hippo  On  The  Moon”  on  Thursday  12th  January.    Many  parents  came  to  watch  the  show  with  their  children  and  we  would  like  to  thank  the  accompanying  adults  for  their  help  and  support  throughout  the  trip.  All  our  students  enjoyed  the  performance  and  behaved  very  well.      See  you  in  2018,  Kidsfest!

On  Friday  9th  June  2017,  all  of  our  PYP  classes  including  PN,  N  and  LKP  will  be  hosting  a  student-‐led  conference  and  will  be  inviting  all  parents  to  come  along  as  the  children  share  their  learning  journey  with  you!  Save  the  date.

On  16th  December,  the  school  was  once  again  filled  with  festive  cheer.  The  whole  school  was  transformed  into  a  Christmas  carnival.  There  were  a  variety  of  Christmas  activities,  including  a  visit  from  Santa  in  his  grotto,  a  Christmas  disco,  Christmas  sensory  play,  Christmas  tattoos,  Christmas  bowling,  Christmas  storytelling  and  a  jumble  sale.  Thank  you  to  the  class  mums  for  helping  to  coordinate  food  to  be  brought  in  and  to  all  the  parents  for  preparing  and  providing  the  food.  The  event  ended  with  a  round  of  Christmas  carolling  by  each  of  the  classes.  We  thank  you  for  your  patience  and  cooperation  during  the  carolling  and  performance,  and  hope  you  had  a  lovely  winter  break  with  family  and  friends.    On  behalf  of  Foodlink,  the  charity  we  choose  to  support,  we  would  like  to  thank  you  for  all  your  generosity.  We  collected  a  total  of  $10,979  to  donate  to  them  to  help  feed  the  homeless  and  the  elderly,  and  all  the  other  work  they  do.  Below  is  a  message  from  Foodlink:
