In order to establish power generating plants, the Bange Town Hall has allowed Aizu

Electric Power to use land under their ownership. By having private operators and

government agencies work together to distribute small-scale power plants over a

vast area, we can encourage the expansion and growth of the use and popularity of

alternative natural energies.

The Aizu region has always been recognized for its abundance in natural resources.

The clean and refreshing spring water that flows from the mountainous regions and the bountiful annual harvest from

Aizu’ s extensive agricultural efforts, allows for the generation of clean and natural energy in the region.

Ever since the 2011 Northeastern Japan Tsunami and Earthquake led to the leaking of a nuclear power plant,

destroying much of the land surrounding it, Japan has had to start from a baseline and rewrite any new laws or plans

on how to obtain enough energy for the country to thrive on. We hope to follow Europe’ s footsteps in the energy

sector as they have advanced technology and knowledge in the science of the alternative energy business.

We would like to say a few words about our plans for the future:

With no purpose to blame the nation or any energy companies, in response to and to take full responsibility of the

power plant leakage in the Fukushima prefecture, we would like to establish solar power energy, small scale

hydroelectric power energy, woody-biomass power energy, geothermal power energy, and wind power energy

alternatives to change the direction and mindset of the energy generation business for future years.

Through our business, we aim to prove to our future generations that the ability to create change is in the power of

their own hands. We believe that as adults, it is our responsibility that by being great role models now, we can provide

for a better future for our nation.

Aizu Electric Power Company is established in August of 2013 with an objective to widely distribute the knowledge and existence of alternative energy methods over nuclear energy power generation. Keeping the safety of the public as our top priority, our company continually strives to search for the best possible alternative energy extraction methods for the Aizu community to improve its economy and culture for future generations.

Our objective at Aizu Electric Power is to be able to quickly provide energy to the people of the Aizu region in times of emergency. By having many small-scale generators distributed over a given area, we believe energy will be more accessible and transported to the needed region in an acceptable amount of time. To achieve this, we are currently creating and installing more small-scale 50kW capacity power generators throughout our neighborhoods.

■Solar panels are installed 2.5m above the ground to reduce build up of heavy snowfall and also to reduce any shielding that may occur from weed overgrowth.

Generating solar power energy in an area with annual heavy snowfall

By demonstrating that solar power generation is possible even in regions with heavy snowfall, Aizu Electric Power hopes to create and expand a net-work in which we can encourage other areas in Japan to establish distrib-uted power generation sites. Ai-Power Asset Inc, a subsidiary of Aizu Electric Power, received 9,980 ten thousand Japanese yen in subsidies from the 2014 Aizu Solar Energy Fund in recognition for engaging in the energy generation distribution business sector.We have created a plaque commemorating those who invested in our company that is currently hanging up and decorating our office.
