THE BON-‐TON STORES, INC. RAISES MORE THAN $730,000 FOR THE MARCH OF DIMES IMBORNTO ® CAMPAIGN
MILWAUKEE, WI (October 10, 2013) – More than $730,000 was raised by The Bon-‐Ton Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ:BONT) from its Mother’s Day and Father’s Day promotions supporting the March of Dimes imbornto® Campaign. This is the first time the Bon-‐Ton Stores have partnered with the March of Dimes on a national level to support their work to give every baby a healthy start in life. The goal was to raise over $100,000 through donations, sales and social media campaigns at Bon-‐Ton, Boston Store, Bergner’s, Carson’s, Elder-‐Beerman, Herberger’s and Younkers stores from April 26 through June 16. Brendan Hoffman, President and CEO, The Bon-‐Ton Stores, Inc. said, “We are ecstatic that we exceeded our goal so significantly and raised over $730,000 to support the imbornto Campaign. The March of Dimes funds so many vital initiatives to support pregnant women, newborns and infants. All of us at Bon-‐Ton are pleased that our customers and associates were able to make a major difference for Mother’s and Father’s Day to support this extremely worthwhile cause.” The campaign had several different elements including in store and online donations as well as Bon-‐Ton private brands Laura Ashley and Ruff Hewn purchases donating 10% of sales. The social media aspect included Facebook sweepstakes, a twitter conversation using the hashtags #CelebrateMom and #CelebrateDad as well as texting campaign, all of which donated to the March of Dimes. “The Bon-‐Ton Stores family has done an absolutely extraordinary job to help American families have stronger, healthier babies,” says Sandra Hijikata, Chief Revenue Officer of the March of Dimes. “We’re so grateful for the dedication of Bon-‐Ton Stores associates and customers who exceeded the goal and all expectations for this first year of the imbornto campaign partnership.
