Do you ever have one of those stretches in business where one exciting thing after another happens? So much so, that it gets your adrenaline pumping, has you moving quicker than usual and gives you a renewed sense of enthusiasm for coming to work everyday?

That’s what this Spring has been like for us here at Zachys. I am TRULY ENERGIZED about everything going on—

• The auction market has never been more exciting

• We have great vintages to sell from all around the wine world:★ 2009 & 2010 Bordeaux★ 2009 Burgundy★ 2006 Brunello di Montalcino★ 2007/2008/2009 Tuscany★ 2007/2009 California★ 2008s from Washington State & Oregon

• We are holding one of the MOST EXCITING Brunello events ever in NYC with internationally acclaimed wine critic James Suckling and 30+ producers in attendance (See back page for details) – A MUST attend!

• I can’t remember a time when we have had so many “new discoveries” in the wine world. Whether it is a new winery, wine or even a GREAT new way to package and serve it (See page 6 for details on SINGLZ on-the-go)!

I can feel safe in saying that this Spring/Summer will not be the “same old, same old” here at the store. We have TONS of exciting things going on. As you flip through he following pages of the gazette, it is my hope that my enthusiasm for all we have going on becomes infectious. Our long and ugly Winter is now in the rear view mirror and it’s time to start getting excited for the warm weather months to come and all the celebration with food and wine.

See how you feel when you get to the end at page 52...I think you will be ENERGIZED as well.

All my best

Chardonnay SINGLZ 2010 (90SWJ) {#344709} ....... 5.99 4.99ALSO AVAILABLE IN 24 PACKS

“This is not an oaky Chard monster; it is more like liquid sweet tarts for adults, only better. Medium-bodied, refreshing, and an exceptional value. In fact, in a recent blind tasting, the 2010 Finnegan’s Lake Chardonnay easily bested Chardonnays from a number of California high-end, “cult wine” producers who charge two to three times as much for their overripe, oak-driven wines...90” SWJ 4/11

Cabernet Sauvignon SINGLZ 2009 {#344707} ........ 5.99 4.99ALSO AVAILABLE IN 24 PACKS

“Aromas of blackberries, black cherries, and violets are infused with a hint of dark chocolate and pepper...trich, nearly full-bodied wine. Juicy flavors of black fruits are complemented by a classic California Cab note of bell peppers. This is a perfect match for barbecue (especially pulled pork), burgers, and hot dogs with all the trimmings...I would not be surprised to see this wine develop over the next year and merit a 90-point rating...” SWJ 4/11

The Greatest Value In Pauillac...And Bordeaux?!

A new value proposition has emerged in Pauillac In the commune with the largest concentration of First Growth and Second Growth Bordeaux one of Bordeaux’s best values has emerged.

Surprising and not so surprising all at the same time.

Surprising as the average bottle price for a Pauillac is well over $100 today with First Growths like Lafite, Mouton and Latour all starting at close to $1,000.00 per bottle. More surprising as the Second Wines of even the Second Growths are now pushing $50 or more per bottle.

But one of Bordeaux’s greatest values is emerging in Pauillac.

Echo de Lynch Bages!

Chateau Lynch Bages’ second wine. This is the new name for the Chateau’s second wine and the first vintage for the new style and emphasis on Lynch Bages’ second wine. The results have been terrific!

It is no surprise that it is a property like Lynch Bages that has re-grouped and placed new emphasis on turning out some tremendous “values.” In fact, I am sure that many of you can remember the days when Chateau Lynch Bages itself was considered one of Bordeaux’s greatest “BANG for YOUR BUCK” splurges.

Today it is ECHO!

The 2008 is the first Vintage for the new ECHO but the already established track record for this wine is tremendous: 2008 90 points James Suckling 2009 89-92 points Wine Spectator 2010 90-93 points Wine Spectator / 90-91 points James Suckling

And the wine is priced well under $40 per bottle!

The 2008 is due to arrive stateside within the next couple of months and the 2009 is slated for early next year. But now is the time to lock in on these wines before more people catch on to what is going on. This insider “secret” will not last long and we all know what happens to great value wines in Bordeaux when the “secret” is out! -JZ

90 Point 2009 Bordeaux In-Stock Now!

This past January James Suckling stopped into the store for a blind tasting of five wines we thought were 90 points or more and under $30! Andrew and I put together a selection of five wines to taste went five for five with every wine receiving a 90 point review! Plus, we were the first to have all five wines total up for under $100!

I want to focus in on the one wine that really shocked James—The 2009 Pasquet Bordeaux that he rated 90 points.

What shocked James was the price...$13.99 per bottle! As James says in the video, “You can’t fi nd anything from California at this price.”

Bordeaux is full of great values, but a $13.99/90 point wine is still very hard to find...even in Bordeaux! -JZ

The options are unlimited on what one can buy in terms of 2009 Bordeaux. With so many wines to choose from at exceptional quality, the list can simply just go on and on. Granted, price just maybe an issue but today, we wanted to take a moment and hone in on what we feel are some of the SMART BUYS, DEALS and NOTEWORTHY WINES of the vintage that you may not have considered. These are wines that represent relative value when compared to some of the bigger names and sought after wines of the vintage. We realize everything seems inexpensive when compared to the First Growths at $1,200 plus per bottle. These wines themselves are not the absolute best values of the vintage. However, they are some of the sure bets, smart buys and good deals of the vintage when you consider all the variables— They are highly scored, highly regarded, note-worthy estates in their own right. AND in this vintage, they have turned out exceptional wines that will be perfect for cellaring, drinking and collecting! -JN

As Wine Spectator says about buying futures,

“If you plan to buy futures, you should work only with reputable merchants who have a history of delivering the wines their customers order...but don’t be tempted by a price that’s too low. If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”

Zachys has been selling Bordeaux futures since 1970 and we have thousands of satisfied customers.

2010 is shaping up to be another great year for the top wines of Bordeaux. This gives us two great Bordeaux vintages in a row. For sure wine lovers and critics from around the world will be discussing for years to come, which is the better vintage.

My father and I have been selling Bordeaux and Bordeaux futures for more than 40 years and neither of us have ever seen such demand and interest in Bordeaux as we have seen generally over the last ten years but especially over the last two to three years. There is so much interest in all the top wines from all over the world that I do not see the pressure coming off these wines for many years to come.

I am also VERY proud of Zachys reputation for buying and delivering Bordeaux Futures. For over 40 years now, we have consistently delivered customer’s wine as they expected it, when they expected it. We continue to get comments like, “I sleep better at night knowing I have bought my futures with Zachys because I know they will be delivered.”

As Wine Spectator says, “If you plan to buy futures, you should work only with reputable merchants who have a history of delivering the wines their customers order...If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” WS 4/11

Here are what the critics are already saying about this extraordinary vintage:

“Bordeaux 2010-this is the most widely known thing...already...it is a great, great vintage-not greater than either 2005 or 2009, but ...Bob Dylan must have been thinking about Bordeaux when he wrote the song-”With God on their Side” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate 4/11

“It’s now quite clear that Bordeaux has a compelling duo of vintages in the pipeline. Compared to the round, fl eshy, fl attering ‘09s, the ‘10s provide a stark contrast, with super-racy acidity, powerful yet fresh tannins and ripe, muscular fruit. Overall, I rate the vintage at 95–98 points for both the Left and Right Banks.” James Molesworth, WS 4/11

“The 2010 IS an exceptional vintage, and harks back to such great years as 1990, 1986, and 1961. Two thousand ten made powerful and rich reds and dry whites with extraordinary structure and fresh acidity. It’s this combination of ripe fruit, polished tannins and bright acidity that gives so many wines such a creamy structure and focused intensity.” James Suckling

At press time of the Gazette we did not really have many wines released but we did have these two stellar stand-out value! Check back at zachys.com or submit your wishlist today at [email protected]. -JZ

2009 Red and White Burgundy

The 2009 Vintage has Arrived at the PERFECT time! We have been waiting for a Vintage like this: as we know you have too.

This is not just a Red Wine Vintage in our opinion. It is a White Wine Vintage as well! The quality across the region from as far north as Chablis and as far south as Beaujolais has produced tremendous wine across the board.

Perfection, I tell you, in terms of timing. It hasn’t been this perfect since 2005 when Burgundy experienced such an across-the-board success.

However, 2009 is not another 2005! 2005 is by far a tremendous landmark vintage, but it is a vintage that is built for the long haul. Many of the wines now are not touchable and will not be for years to come. 2005 was a draught year and the grapes were stressed, possessing very strong tannin levels. 2009 is just the opposite. 2009 is what we all expected and hoped for of the 2005 Vintage. 2009 is full of aromatics, rich fruit, balanced-refined tannins and supple textures. The wines, in a nut shell, are what we all yearn for in Red Burgundy. Grace, elegance and the ever changing allure of floral, spice and fruit aromatics shine through in this sunny almost perfect Vintage. The structure is here too and the 2009s can age, but they are so seductive now that pulling corks will be very, very hard to resist.

The whites are the same. Seductive and appealing straight from the bottle. Not as strong of a vintage as 2008 is in general but the 2009s have a balanced richness and softness that make the wines extremely fun and delightful to drink now. They have balance between body and acidity with plenty of deep fruit and overall very, very good minerality.

This is why it is Perfect Timing that the 2009s are just being released. We have all been wanting and needing a Vintage like this. The 2008s are fantastic (even for the reds) and my recent trip has solidified that point for me, but the 2008 White and Reds need time in the cellar. Many need at least five years if not a decade. They are georgeous wines, built for the long haul.

2010 already looks to be a terrific Vintage combing the best of both worlds - the structure and acidity of 2008 and the fruit and suppleness of 2009. However, the 2010 Vintage is extremely small. In other words, what is typically referred to as “tiny productions” are now going to be called “tiny, tiny, tiny productions.” On average, across the region, most producers are saying their 2010 harvest was cut down 30% to 45%.

With 2008 being a Vintage destined for the cellar, 2010 being extremely small and 2009 being exceptional straight from the get go it seems like a no brainer that the 2009 Vintage is the Vintage to stock-up on early.

Plus with all those 2005s sitting in your cellar waiting to soften up, 2009 is the Vintage to load up on for now. The strength of the Vintage runs across all the appellations, and the Village and Premier Cru levels can be a steal for the Quality. All in all, 2009 is a very unique and special Vintage that is sure to disappear fast—due to the wines immediate appeal and seductiveness! -JN

Over the last 12 months I have been pleasantly surprised with the incredible success we have had with 2 new White Burgundy producers: Domaine Luquet & Louis Chevallier. When Jeremy and I first had the chance to taste both (starting with the 2008 vintage) we knew right away that these wines would be a slam dunk in terms of price/quality ratio.

As I continue to watch case after case of these gems rolling out the front door of the store, I can’t help but feeling there is something I am missing. Most of us know that Burgundy is not the first worldwide location that comes to mind when thinking of “value” Chardonnay. This wine region’s very unique soil composition and growing climate creates some of the finest Chardonnay’s money can buy...from Chablis to Corton Charlemagne.

Ah ha...That’s it! Quickly scanning through our inventory I wanted to see what the average bottle of White Burgundy costs in the store. Any guesses? Of the 180+ in-stock selections the average bottle price came out to $80.54...Oooofa!

Now it makes more sense. When you can get premium quality entry level White Burgundy (and now all from the SENSATIONAL 2009 vintage) for $56 – $67 under the store’s regional average...you’ve got something.

KUDOS to my sales staff to turning so many clients on to this brand and KUDOS to the clients that have recognized how these two brands delivered. If you have not had the chance to discover them yet for yourself...There’s still time. -AM

I was recently having a conversation with a group of friends in the wine business. We started talking about what are some of the hottest properties in Burgundy.

All together there were about five of us heavily participating in this conversation. Suprisingly we all agreed this one estate is definitely one of the hottest in Burgundy right now and poised to be the next “Rousseau.”

The property is Domaine Fourrier! Now headed by Jean-Marie Fourrier, this estate has been on one massive qualitative hot streak with many of today’s “Burgundy Fanatics” calling him the next “Rousseau.” Well my group of wine loving friends that included a Master Sommelier and Master of Wine agreed that Jean-Maris is poised to cement his Domaine in the history books along with Rousseau as one of the greats.

Today’s offer spans from the 2006 to 2009 Vintages of Domaine Fourrier. From the Domaine’s parcels in Gevery Chambertin to Morey St Denis and Vougeot we basically have almost everything represented here. If you are a Fourrier fan or are ready to jump on the “Fourrier Bandwagon” (you should be if you’re not on it already) this is the offer for you.

You will save 25% OFF on some of the most carefully produced wines of the Cotes de Nuits, wines that are excellent to drink now and have all the necessary refinement and structure to age. -JN

Yes, No...it doesn’t matter the wines are EXCEPTIONAL.

These are some of the most pure examples of Meursault and Puligny we have tried. Floral, clean, crisp yet full of power these are some truly amazing wines.-JN

Dueling 90 Points for only $13.50!Do I have deal of for you! But just keep this one between us, as I haven’t really flown this one by Andrew yet.

Don’t worry I will take the heat for it but it is time that all you Rhone fans have jumped on the Vacqueyras bandwagon! One of the most under-rated villages of the Southern Rhone, Vacqueyras is turning out some stellar wines in key vintages.

This wine comes from the heavily sought after 2007 vintage and has received two great 90 point reviews from the Wine Spectator and Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. In fact, it pains me to offer such a steal on this wine but I too feel very strongly about this wine and most importantly this region that I want to make sure we get some of this into your hands. Robert Parker states that Chateau Pesquie’s 2009 Les Terrasses Cotes du Ventoux (aka Cotes du Rhone) is “Tasting more like a Chateauneuf du Pape than an inexpensive Cotes du Ventoux.”

Not only is this wine clearly over-delivering for the money at $11.24 per bottle, but this estate has long been one of Robert Parker’s favorite little gems in Ventoux.

Don’t let the Cotes du Ventoux designation hold you back. Just think of this as Cotes du Rhone with a higher quality level than most. It’s all Rhone here and the Les Terrasses is one of the most consistent wines vintage to vintage. But we don’t need to tell you that...as it is Zachys’ #1 selling Ventoux each year!

Exceptional Northern Rhone Quality—

“Delas has been on a fabulous qualitative roll for over a decade. They have enjoyed some great successes, so it is hard to say 2009 may be the magnum opus of Jacques Grange, but it certainly looks fabulous.” Robert Parker, the Wine Advocate 2/11

It is no longer just Chapoutier and Guigal sitting at the top of the list of large quality producers! Delas has firmly established themselves as the third great larger quality producer.

The Northern Rhone in general is either all about the large core group of producers like Delas, Chapoutier, Guigal, and Jaboulet or smaller estate along the likes of Chave, Rostaing and Clape to name a few.

Delas has been there every step of the way quietly. Advancing the region, increasing the quality and building a foundation across all the wines that they produce. With the 2006 vintage, the wine world really started to pay attention and Delas was all of a sudden back in the spotlight.

Now, they have been catapulted to the top of the list along with Guigal and Chapoutier with their tremendous 2009s!

With two possible 100 point wines and a range of some of the finest examples of the vintage these are some of the Northern Rhone’s hottest wines and you should not wait to secure yours today. -JN

Gazette Only Special:“One of the Great Values” & “An Astonishing Wine” Robert Parker 94 & 93 Point Reviews!

Third times the charm. We did it again. We locked in more of the most requested Languedoc wine in years...Chateau Puech-Haut Prestige 2009!

It started when Robert Parker tasted this little gem in the mix of some Southern Rhone wines and immediately took to Mark Squire’s Bulletin Board on erobertparker.com calling it “One of the Greatest VALUES.” The complete posting is below but clearly Robert Parker was moved by the wine rating it 94 points at the time and stating that he intends to buy several cases.

Well in August when Robert was creating his list of “Values” for the August issue, he just couldn’t stay away from this wine and went ahead and published an official Wine Advocate review using words like “remarkable” and rating the wine an official 93 points!

Either way, 94 or 93 points, Robert Parker is right...the wine is “Astonishing” and “Remarkable” for the price! This is one to buy by the case. -JN

“I’m infringing on David Schildknecht’s territory, but he has not yet tasted this wine. From a bio-dynamically farmed estate, this 2009 is a blend of 55% Grenache (from 60- to 75-year-old vines) and 45% Syrah (from 40-year-old vines), all planted in limestone soils, and aged completely in concrete tanks. This remarkable offering is a naked expression of the vivid terroir and excellent fruit found in this region. The incredible aromatics consist of forest floor, spring flowers, sweet black currants, raspberries, licorice, and incense. With a pure, velvety, seamless, full-bodied texture and a finish that lasts 30+ seconds, this wine possesses a stunning integration of acidity, tannin, and alcohol, suggesting this 2009 will age nicely for 3-5 years, possibly as long as a decade. However, it will be hard to resist given its current performance. Bravo!...93” WA 8/10

Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of boysenberries, pepper, incense, and fruit. Seventy percent Syrah, twenty percent Grenache and the rest Carignan and Mourvedre, this wine comes primarily from the Cotes du Rhone village of Cairanne. A “Ridiculous Value”!!!

The fi rst Vintage (2006—92WA) was a hit with almost 100 cases sold at Zachys.

The second Vintage (2007—92WA) was a tremendous hit with over 200 cases sold at Zachys.

The third Vintage (2008—NYR) based on our tasting earlier this year...OFF the CHARTS GOOD!

Chateau Saint-Roch from Jean-Marc Lafarge is the perfect example of a winery that OVER DELIVERS for the PRICE to QUALITY RATIO!

Straight out of the gate, Saint-Roch wines have represented terrific values for exceptionally crafted wines. The 2008 is no different and we would expect that the Wine Advocate team will be reviewing this wine in the upcoming August VALUE issue. Either way, due to this wines extreme popularity and success, we do believe that the 2008 will be over 50% sold before the Wine Advocate review is published. Now is the time to lock in your bottles (cases) of Saint-Roch before they disappear.

Plus for the first time, we have the Saint-Roch white. Simply put...WOW! This puts most Chateauneuf du Pape Whites and Bandol Blancs to shame.

Here is a reminder as to what the Wine Advocate had to say regarding the 2007 Chimeres:

“...It almost seems as though Jean-Marc Lafarge is out to spoil things for every other southern French vintner by treating the consumer to wines of ridiculous value.”

Delicious notes of forest flora, blue and red fruits, licorice, lavender and garrigue all combine into a classic wine of Provence...who can resist it now? Both of these wines over-deliver significantly for an appellation as humble as the Cotes du Rhone, but that is the great beauty of this vast area of southern France...90-92” WA 10/10

The one Gigondas Domiane that everyone should know by now...Domaine St Damien!

This tiny Gigondas Domaine is turning out some of the most powerful and structured wines of the region. My first taste of these wines came during a day of touring the Southern-Rhone with famed enologist Philippe Cambie tasting 2007 and 2008s.

He saved these wines for the end of the day. The reason: the power!

Wow! These wines were explosive. Powerful and rich unlike any other Gigondas or Chateauneuf for that matter, we tried over the course of that tasting trip.

By then we were too late to secure any of their expectional Cotes du Rhone but we did get our hands on a bunch of the 2007 Gigondas Cuvees which many of you now have in your cellar.

When the 2009s started to come out we made sure to grab as much of the Le Bouveau Cotes du Rhone as possible; especially based on these tremendous comments:

“Proprietor Joel Saurel, backed up by the inimitable Philippe Cambie as his consultant, has transformed this estate into one of the greatest in Gigondas, rivaling the two top producers, Yves Gras’ Santa Duc and Louis Barruol’s Saint Cosme. This estate made mind-boggling 2007s, and has followed that up with top-fl ight 2009s. The two value wines are nearly as good as their more expensive cuvees of Gigondas, which tells you just how impressive this estate is.” Robert Parker, the Wine Advocate 10/10

May 2011

In the 18 years I have been at Zachys the most successful vintage (BY FAR) from Montalcino (In terms of popularity & sales) was 1997. We are just a few months into the release of the 2006 vintage from Italy and it looks like we have another 1997 in the making!!

It doesn’t hurt when internationally acclaimed wine critic James Suckling comes out with statements like (All from jamessuckling.com 1/2011):

“...I am very excited about the vintage. The wines are subtle, yet rich, structured, and powerful. This vintage is the new benchmark for the region — a modern 1997....”

“...They are fascinating to taste. They are some of the most interesting young Brunellos I have ever tasted since I fi rst started going to Montalcino in 1983....”

“...The 2006 vintage for Brunello di Montalcino is the new benchmark for this famous Tuscan appellation and the Sangiovese grape. I can’t think of a better expression of Tuscan wines than the best 2006 Brunello di Montalcinos....”

“...I think 2006 is THE greatest modern vintage for Sangiovese, and many of the 2006s are setting a new quality standard for Brunello producers, as well as their region at large...”

Now, I cannot begin to tell you how many clients have approached me over the last decade expressing remorse that they did not buy enough 1997s, and that this delicious vintage was just too hard to hold on to.

We have two exciting pieces of news about this vintage....

1. As the wines were just released from Italy at the start of February there are still decent stocks available...at least there will be for the next few months.

2. I personally find this vintage to be technically superior to the 1997 vintage as the wines that I have tasted all display tremendous minerality and great tension to the backbone of the wine. In basic terms: I think these wines (While delicious now) will have great ageability in the cellar and you cannot grab too much!

I have already watched clients scoop up HUNDREDS of cases of the 2006s so far and there is still time so that you won’t be one of those customers regretting they did not load up on this vintage a few years down the road.

It is a VERY exciting vintage and we look forward to tasting, talking and sharing our enthusiasm of the vintage with you over the next few months.

All my best,Andrew

P.S. This is just a small sampling of our 120+ selections of 2006 Brunellos. Visit zachys.com for a complete listing.

On one of my Winter trips this year I had the fortunate opportunity to sit and taste with one of Italy’s finest consulting oenologist...Beppe Ca’Viola. Beppe has truly proven to have the “magic” touch over the last 15 - 20 years, and his list of consulting estates is an absolute who’s who of GREAT Italian wineries. Just go to GOOGLE and type in Beppe Ca’Viola Consulting and a HUGE list of incredible properties come up!

What makes him so special? In my opinion, he finds a way to give wines “modern approachability” (rounder edges, better balance and more drinkable at earlier stages) without losing the typicity of the region and having a homogenous style...as some of these roaming winemakers have a tendency to do. More importantly, a man of his stature in the Italian wine world does not need to be looking to a retailer from New York for advice...but he did. He was concerned with the state of the market for ALL of the estates he consults on and what people really want these days.

To which I responded:“They defi nitely want the style of wine you are making...don’t change a thing! But the days of the $70 bottle of wine are becoming more and more limited. Take for example your own Bric Du Luv. I LOVE this wine and think it has a place in the market as it is a RIDICULOUSLY good bottle of old vine Barbera, but at $70 per bottle people are not exactly breaking down the doors. Now, if you could sell it for $35, then we would be in business!”

His response:“Then we have to find a way to make that happen as wine is for consumption...not just sitting in cellars”

I can’t begin to tell you how many winemakers, importers and distributors I have had that same conversation with over the last 2+ years only to get doors slammed in my face. What a refreshing response! Totally unexpected and giving me a new found respect for this winemaker as he truly GOT IT!

He only makes a few hundred cases of this wine, but has earmarked an allocation that I can offer out to our client base at DRAMATICALLY reduced prices. This is a DELICIOUS wine that should be part of your collection. I am offering it out giving you a chance to scoop this wine up at more than HALF-OFF its release price. I can guarantee you that 2 six packs will make their way to my personal cellar. I love when I can secure deals like this!!! -AM

These days when you are speaking of the “Big Boys of Tuscany” one immediately thinks of wines like Sassicaia, Ornellaia, Guado Al Tasso or Tignanello. There is no doubt that these blended reds are some of the finest the region has to offer, but with most having price tags eclipsing the $100/Bottle mark they have moved from “Everyday”...to “once-in-a-while”....to “special occasion” wines.

I am exciting to say though that there is one Maremma estate that has been quietly moving up in the ranks of the Super-Tuscan category that we can sell to you for WELL under $100/Bottle (At least for this week).

Mixed case value of $1020 slashed to $390!

As we are in our HIGH VOLUME shipping period at the store things are JUMPING in the warehouse. For a change of pace I decided to work remotely and hang out with the team up at our warehouse to get a true flavor of all that goes on a day-to-day basis.

That’s the Andrew wearing his “operations hat.”

But, at the end of the day I am still a buyer/marketer of the wines and in strolling around the warehouse I can’t forget that I ALWAYS have my “promotional hat” on!

In passing 2 large stacks of Brunello in the warehouse I mumbled under my breath (Because the team would kill me if they knew I was doing this), “Let’s throw together a crazy mixed case deal that people can string together!”

Well, I’ve done it. Here’s your chance to grab a mixed case of Brunello with a value of $1020.00 FOR ONLY $390...Can you tell I am anxious to clear out some space???!!!

For any of you out there who have gotten caught up in the excitement around Wine Spectator’s year-end issue (Top 100 Wines of the Year) can attest.it’s a bit crazy and it seems like everything in the TOP 50 gets hoovered up within a few weeks.

Frustrating....I know! Try being a retailer who’s phone is ringing off the hook with people who WANT to buy something from you but you just don’t have enough wine to supply the demand.

This past January while travelling through the cellars in Tuscany I noticed a few shrink wrapped pallets in the corner of the warehouse at Fattoria Viticcio. Where my eyes deceiving me? I quickly snuck closer for another look to verify that there were a few pallets of (not one...but two!) of TOP 100 wines. What was the coolest part was that these were not selections from the 2010 TOP 100....but the 2009!!! I felt I had just stepped through a time machine and been transported back 12 months. “What the?” “How can you still have this?” I quickly asked. Turns out they were being held for a very large European client who never took delivery.

“Let’s just re-route those to the U.S. market!!”

We have moved away from the dark, moody, chilly days and nights of winter (Can you tell it was a long Winter?!) to the warmth of Spring. No longer do we all have to shuffle around miserably questioning when it will be brighter and warmer. The time is here!

The days have gotten longer, green is popping out of the ground and from the trees and we are feeling the arrival of a new season filled with growth and renewal. If I was asked what this sense of renewal means to me, or in other words what image is conjured up with this change?

BRIGHT ~ CRISP ~ CLEAN ~ REFRESHING ~ ENERGIZING

This is my description of what Spring means to me....but it could also be a great 5 word descriptor for one of the store’s top selling Italian white wines.

So why not change my description?

“Andrew, what do you think of when you think of Spring?”

“Well, Verdicchio Classico Sartarelli of course!!!”

What?! Who?! Where?! How?! The Wires Got Crossed

I try to take a walk through our warehouse on a weekly basis to see what looks out of place, low in inventory and potential wines that are “overstocked”. As things have a tendency to get a little crazy here at the store, a few weeks had gone by since my last visit up there.

Upon turning the corner on one of the aisles I was shocked to see an entire pallet of Barolo Pio Cesare 2006.

My immediate response was, “What?! Who?! Where?! How?!” Reason being, I thought we had sold all this wine back in January. Turns out my wires got crossed with the warehouse and I ordered this wine in TWICE. OOOOPS!

So here’s your chance to scoop up one of the vintage’s most highly rated Barolos for a fraction of its original price.

Il Palagio | REG $ SALE $

Casino delle Vie Toscano Rosso2008 {#344810} .................................................... 33.99 28.50 More than a decade ago, Trudie Styler and Sting found Il Palagio, a sixteenth-century Tuscan villa with olive groves and vineyards just waiting to be restored to their former glory. Careful nurturing of the vines over the last ten years has yielded grapes of exceptional quality. “Casino delle Vie,” a ninteenth-century farmhouse on the estate, gives its name to this wine, and reminds us that when all is confusion and chaos, when life feels turned upside down, a glass of fine wine can sometimes set the world to rights again. —Winemakers Notes

Sister Moon Toscano Rosso2007 (93WS) {#344811} ....................................... 75.00 60.00 “This is a polished and beautiful wine, delivering blueberry, light toasty oak and currant character that turns lightly smoky and spicy. Full and very silky, with a long, long finish. This is the new wine from Sting’s Tuscan estate on the edge of Chianti Classico near the town of Figline Valdarno. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot...93.” WS 2010

The wines of Il Palagio! Aka the wines from STING.

That’s right, the world re-known musician known only as STING is also making wine. Along with his family Sting has for over 10 years owned and lived in a Tuscan Villa. A Villa that fully embraces and represents the agricultural history and production of Tuscany from Olives to Grapes. Now it also includes wine. Today, Sting has assembled a team that produces two wines from his lovely property.

Of course, the names and packaging of these wines clearly set them apart from the old-school traditional presentation of Tuscan reds but their quality, polish and overall refinement are distinctively Tuscan.

We first got news of these wines, when James Suckling first blogged about them back in the Spring of 2009 but then it was just news that there were wines being made and the barrels in the cellar had some real promise.

Then in June of last year, James Blogged again that he had just tasted the Sister Moon blend on evening in Tuscany and that he found it to be “outstanding quality.”

“By the way, I tasted Sting’s new red, Sister Moon. The 2007 blend of 45 percent Sangiovese, 30 percent Merlot and 25 percent Cabernet Sauvignon shows a lovely balance, with a cuddly, delicate texture that makes you want to drink it. The 10,000-bottle production wine is made from organic grapes. I found it outstanding quality that night, but still have to rate it offi cially for the magazine.” James Suckling, WineSpectator.com / James Suckling Uncorked, June 18, 2010.

Finally around the end of last year, Wine Spectator published James’s official review of the wine where he calls the wine “a polished and beautiful wine.” But still we did not have the wine, nor could we get it.

That all changed about a month ago and today we can offer for the first time both Sister Moon and Casino delle Vie!

A “Fashionable” Tuscan Red Graces the Shelves at Zachys

Good Enough For This VERY Famous Baseball Legend, Good Enough For Us!

I must admit that I am a bit of a “Fashion ignorant” because when our tasting team fell in love with a new Tuscan red this past holiday season we were told that we could also tell our clients, “That this is the estate of Roberto Cavalli!!”

To which I stupidly said, “Who?”

When I got home that night I sheepishly asked my wife who Roberto Cavalli was...and her face lit up.

I guess that was all I need to know.

The Toscana Rosso Cavalli Tenuta degli Dei 2007 is the perfect marriage of a fashion family that CLEARLY knows how to run a great business....and Carlo Ferrini, master Tuscan oenologist, who CLEARLY knows how to make great wine. Sprinkle in some beautiful vineyards in San Leolino (Near Panzano in Chianti) and you have the makings of a Tuscan estate that people will start taking note of.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing is that I like the wine, it is very well made and is a delicious blend of Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon/Petit Verdot. Take into consideration that this Super-Tuscan blend is selling for FAR less than many others from the region the genius of the Cavalli family is clearly at work....See how quickly I learn?! -AM

A few weeks ago a VERY prominent individual (Potential hall-of-famer) inquired about purchasing a few cases of a 2004 Brunello that we did not carry. I was obviously intrigued. Rather than just special ordering the cases for him we requested samples of the wine to see what we were missing out on.

Not only does this former MLB’er show good judgment on the field, he also shows great judgment OFF as well!! We felt this was the perfect opportunity to leverage his request and the store’s desire to carry the wine and negotiate a GREAT deal we could pass along to all of you. I’ve done it!!!

I have secured a nice chunk of this wine direct from the cellars in Italy (Should be here By June 1st) that I am offering out to you today at an INSANE price for Brunello. -AM

My “Italian Discovery” For 2011!!

Over the last decade, as Italian wines have become more popular, the ranks of the “undiscovered” have become smaller and smaller. But I am BURSTING with excitement over my discovery this past January from Northern Italy. I had the distinct privilege to sit down and taste a slew of wines with master Italian oenologist Beppe Ca’Viola. Besides having his own award winning Piedmont estate (Ca’Viola), Beppe spreads his Midas touch throughout many Italian wine producing regions and has a true who’s who of clients that he works with. As he unveiled one estate after another he solicited responses from me like, “WOW” and “Really? I didn’t know you were consulting to make those wines...I love them!”

When I told Beppe I was looking for something VERY special from the Veneto (Amarone & Soave), he said I have just the property for you. He was very humble about his accomplishments at CA RUGATE, but another attendee at the tasting blurted out, “Did you know the Monte Fiorentine has been TRE BICCHIERI the last 5 years in a row???!!!”

To say that we were impressed with the entire line up of wines (both red & white) is the understatement of the year. All the wines express the typicity of the region, with clean intensity and great balance and polish...at ALL levels (Think I am JAZZED here???!!).

In my 18 years at the store I’ve always wanted a Veneto producer that I can hang my hat on....I FOUND IT!!! You really need to check out what these wines are all about. Make them YOUR Italian discovery of 2011. - AM

Brunello di Montalcino Riservas typically only make up 10% of most winemakers production from the best vintages (In some cases even less!). As it such a rarified wine, in terms of availability, most RISERVAS from great vintages (Like 2004) tend to carry a price tag in the $75 - $125/bottle range.

If I asked you what you thought were some of Zachys top selling value you red wines you might throw out answers like...

“Malbec from Argentina “

“Cotes Du Rhone “

“Value oriented Cabernet Sauvignon from California “

All perfectly legitimate guesses that are probably top sellers in most wine shops in America.

Not here...for us it is BARBERA from the town of Mombaruzzo in Piedmont! Momba-WHAT???? Exactly!!!

Whats more important than knowing the varietal, region or who makes the wine is that the reds from this estate are JUST THAT GOOD!! It has always been the family’s intention to ship wines into the U.S. market that totally over deliver on price and quality....which explains why we sold more than a 1,000 cases in the store last year.

We stunned James Suckling this past February when he had the TRE ROVERI blind. Clearly this is the estate and the wines for everyday consumption. If you have not tried them....YOU SHOULD. And if you have...YOU SHOULD GET MORE!!! - AM

La Rioja Alta Reserva Especial Vina Ardanza 2001 (94WA) | REG $ SALE $

750ml {#343832} ...................................................... 38.99 29.24“La Rioja Alta was founded in 1890 in Haro, the capital of Rioja Alta, in close proximity to Lopez de Heredia and Marques de Riscal. The Bodega’s wines are all blends, there are no single vineyard wines, and all of the wines are produced from estate-grown grapes. During my visit in May, 2010, I had the opportunity to taste verticals of 2 of La Rioja Alta’s wines, Vina Ardanza Reserva and Gran Reserva 904. Vina Ardanza’s wines are labeled Reserva with three exceptions. In what La Rioja Alta considers the greatest years (there have been three to date, 2001, 1973, and 1964) the wine is called Reserva Especial...

The current release is the 2001 Reserva Especial, a deeply colored wine with a lovely perfume of cinnamon, lavender, incense, balsamic, and black cherry. Medium-bodied, velvety-textured, and already complex, it will continue to evolve for another 5-10 years and offer a drinking window extending from 2016 to 2036. For those seeking immediate gratification, it has the virtue of being approachable now...94.” WA 6/10

97 Point Reserva from “one of Rioja’s benchmark estates”

“Bodegas Fernando Remirez de Ganuza is one of Rioja’s benchmark estates. ...With all due respect, the greatest vintages from Bodegas Fernando Remirez de Ganuza in my opinion are 2004 and 2001...” Jay Miller for Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate 6/10

We have had a been flooded with great Rioja of late. All coming from two of Spain’s strongest Vintages: 2001 and 2004.

This extremely limited wine is the 2004 Reserva from Remirez de Ganuza.

Fernando’s focus on the age of the vines and the quality of the grapes shines through his wines. He insists upon using a manual selection process to make sure the best fruit goes into his finished product, which can be both tedious and costly. With his first vintage in 1994, he has mastered the art of making wines that are both friendly upon release while having structure.

Don’t miss out on this high scoring beauty from one of Rioja’s best!

A month ago, we informed you about the CVNE 2001 Gran Reserva Rioja—A wine that is an absolute steal for the price to quality ratio that is purposely released with 10 year of age already on it.

We have found another wine that OVER-DELIVERS for the price to quality ratio and is also...• From the famed 2001 Rioja Vintage• Just released and has 10 years of age on it• Is rated 94 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.

The wine is from one of Rioja’s most prized and historic properties, La Rioja Alta— The Reserva Especial Vina Ardanza!

This is only the third vintage in twelve decades in which La Rioja Alta has bestowed the designation ‘Reserva Especial’ on one of its wines. The other two vintages were 1973 and the downright mythical 1964.

2001 was a vintage which flirted with disaster. All types of potentially ruinous weather conditions befell the region, including an April frost, inordinate heat, a lengthy drought, and possibly most troubling of all, torrential rainstorms towards the end of the growing season. What didn’t kill the vintage, however, made it stronger, prompting some of the preeminent winemakers in the region to classify 2001 as “una cosecha para la historia”, a historic harvest. The wines from the 2001 vintage are dark-hued and concentrated, with spectacular aromatic complexity. The closest analogue is 1964, a vintage so profound that many doubted they would ever see its equal.

The 2001 Viña Ardanza Reserva Especial is a blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha. It stayed in cask for an élevage of 36 months before being bottled in September 2005. After five years of hibernation in the La Rioja Alta cellars at Haro, this wine is finally ready and has just landed at the Zachys!

First Time Offer in the USA | REG $ SALE $

Ramos Pinto Collection 2007 (90WA) {#343497} .. 26.99 19.99“The 2007 COLLECTION is an offering with fancy artwork that makes a pretty nice splash for its wine, too. Continuing the winery’s tradition of blending quintas, this is a vineyard blend from the winery’s Quinta do Bom Retiro vineyards and its Douro Superior property, Quinta de Ervamoira, thus distinguishing it in terroir from the winery’s Duas Quintas Reserva (a blend from Ervamoira and Bon Ares). It is a grape blend of Touriga Nacional (30%), Touriga Franca (30%) and a field blend for the rest. This is a very nice performance, elegant and refined, but with a very obvious backbone. More intense, deeper and lusher than the regular Tinto (the former “Adriano,” now the “DQ”), it gets sweeter with air and is a pretty nice offering that should handle itself well in the mid-term and provide a very good value point in the Ramos Pinto lineup...90” WA 2/10

First Time Offer in the USA on an Old World Red-Estate Founded in 1880!?

Ramos Pinto is a name that pretty much every wine drinker has heard.

Famous for their Ports and their Advertising Posters, Ramos Pinto is a classic estate for all time.

The estate was founded in 1880 with its reputation built on Port production.

Today, Port is still this house’s major interest but like the rest of Europe and specifically Portuguese estates, Ramos Pinto has put further effort and resources into dry red production.

For the fi rst time in the USA, we are able to offer the Ramos Pinto Collection.

Ramos Pinto produces four dry reds and up until now, only three have them have been imported into the USA. The fourth, called Collection is a limited production blend of Ramos Pinto’s two primary Quintas whose label is a replication of one of Ramos Pinto’s legendary posters. Each Vintage this wine is bottled, the label is changed to another classic poster.

However it is not just about the packaging here. The wine is great...especially for the price!

Reviewed by Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate the Collection is an excellent example of the quality of dry red wine now being produced in Portugal. It is no longer just about Port! -JN

Spring is here and the temperatures are finally warming up...but you still have a chance to secure the last tiny bit of the 2007 Graham’s Vintage Port. We had been sold out of this for almost 10 months. However, the local supplier informed us a last month that they had a few more cases arriving soon. So we put in our request and GOT IT!

Now back in-stock, the 97/ 96 point Vintage Graham.

From what is destined to be one of Ports greatest vintages, the 2007 Graham is bound to be one of the most “collectible” wines in years to come!

In fact, many critics are already comparing the 2007 Vintage to the legendary 1977 stating that 2007 is superior and preferred.

Plus did we mention that this is the highest rated Graham Vintage Port from the Wine Advocate!? And the third highest rated Graham Vintage Port from the Wine Spectator!?

This is one gem that will perfectly fit into any cellar...including yours! -JN

Made from vineyard blocks that don’t fit into the vintage style of the highly acclaimed Jonata wines—The Paring is essentially a “chip off the old block.”

Mainly sourced from Ballard Canyon in the Santa Ynez region, the Paring bottlings explore different blending opportunities from the rule-bending Paring White to the wide-ranging Cabernet net of the winemaker Matt Dees.

With Matt behind the label, he brings experience from vintages at Staglin in Napa, California, Craggy Range in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand as well as a degree in Soil Science from University of Vermont. With an intrinsic feel for wine from dirt to glass, when he’s not working with the Paring, Matt can be found making wines for its big sister winery Jonata.

97 points, the Highest Rated Oregon Vintage to Date! “Perfect balance of light textures and rich, vivid fl avors.”

2008 is the perfect Vintage to re-explore Oregon Pinot Noir. It is also the perfect Vintage to explore the “boutique” wineries.

The quality level and range of interesting wines is incredible.

If you love Pinot Noir and/or Burgundy this is the Vintage for you! de Lancellotti and Cameron are two of the best “Under the Radar” wineries that we have been introduced to this year.

Both have very strong track records and luckily for YOU we have cracked the code to finally getting our hands on some of these extremely limited produced wines.

Seriously, we only have a couple cases of each of these in-stock and when they are gone, they are going to be gone for good. -JN

“This estate, owned by Christian Moueix, includes the famed Napanook Vineyard that was the base of so many of the historic Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignons of the 1950s and 1960s...” Robert Parker, the Wine Advocate 12/10

Catch the end of the Vintage! Secure the last few remaning cases of the 2007 Napanook before it is too late. The 2008 Vintage is tiny and with production already being cut back in 2006 and 2007 the amount of Napanook on the market is rapidly vanishing.

If you are a fan of Napanook, Dominus or Christian Moueix then you need to make sure that you have a case or two of this in the cellar.

“This brilliant Cabernet is actually underpriced for its quality.” Robert Parker

“Bigger than life veteran winemaker, musician and general bon vivant, Ed Sbragia continues to turn out a bevy of realistically priced wines that offer great value. To add to the excitement, every one of his 2007 Cabernet Sauvignons performed better out of bottle than it did from barrel - always a sign of top winemaking and reassuring integrity. However, Sbragia, who may have the Midas touch with red varietals (particularly his beloved Zinfandel as well as Cabernet Sauvignon) also knows a thing or two about Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. ...Sbragia is producing fi ve separate Cabernet Sauvignons, and the in-the-bottle notes that follow demonstrate that each of them performed better from the bottle than it did last year from barrel.” Robert Parker, the Wine Advocate 12/10

Ed Sbragia is hands down one of Napa’s great winemakers. Not familiar with his work are you? Yes, you are. He’s the man that helped cement Beringer as one of Napa’s most consistent estates, and catapulted Beringer’s Single Vineyard and Reserve programs into overdrive. After decades “behind the wheel” at Beringer, Sbragia has established his own winery with his son. Together these two are turning out some of the Valley’s top wines at a fraction of the price of all the “big boys!”

If there is one thing Sbragia picked up from his years at Beringer, it is his keen knowledge of the Valley’s greatest and best kept vineyards inside and out...Including the little vineyards that most of us have never even heard of, Wall Vineyard to just name one!

I think Robert Parker really sums up what the Sbragia’s are doing best with this line: “This brilliant Cabernet is actually underpriced for its quality.” -JN

The Vintage’s Highest Rated CabernetUnder $50 - 95pts!

Did we mention that it received 95 points from Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate!?!

Hall Winery is on a roll.

You may recall that Hall Winery really broke onto the scene with the 2006 Vintage and that was when we at Zachys really jumped on the Hall bandwagon.

It was with the 2005 Vintage that we learned about Hall Winery. The wine world, however, really learned about Hall Winery when for two consecutive years in a row, Hall had one of their 2006 Cabernet Sauvignons in the Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of the Year! First it was the Hall ‘Kathryn Hall’ 2006 (96pts) at #20 in 2009 and second was the Hall Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 (94pts) at #18 in 2010.

Of course by the time the Top 100 broke this past December we were long sold out of the 2006 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon as we had already been promoting the wine since the January of 2010.

Now it is time to jump ahead to the 2008 Vintage! Rated 95 points by Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate this past December, we have been working with the winery to secure as much as possible. Well, we’ve done it - We’ve secured as much as we can and are ready to offer you the 2008 Hall Winery Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon!

This is what we believe to be the highest rated Cabernet Sauvignon of the Vintage Under $50! Not to mention, the highest rating that we can find on the Hall Winery Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ever! Their single vineyard wines that sell for around $100 have just edged this wine out in the past at 96 points but this 2008 base Napa Cab has set a new standard for Hall Cabernets receiving the highest rating ever from Robert Parker too!

Clearly, Hall Winery excels in Vintage that are more austere and classically structured like 2006 and 2008!

This stellar 2008 is due to arrive at the Zachys warehouse late Summer/early Fall of 2011. But you need to reserve yours today as the production in 2008 is almost a third less and we expect this wine to sell out before it even arrives! - AM

“Finest example I have ever tasted...it is already irresistible.” Robert Parker

Looking for something new and different?

How about irresistible?

We’ve locked in the wine for you!

Bacio Divino! No it’s not from Italy but there is just a dash of Italian flare added into the mix.

From reknowned winemaker Claus Janzen, Bacio Divino is a collection of Napa Valley blends. The flagship wine and claim to fame is the Bacio Divino Red Blend.

Primarily a Cabernet Sauvignon Blend, the 2007 Bacio Divino has already received great press from Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate.

For those of you that may have missed or already forgotten by now...the 2007 Napa Vintage is a landmark Vintage that has been rated 99 points by Wine Spectator Magazine!

What more can you ask for in a 2007 Cabernet Blend that is a tad different and unusual...

Hails from the 99 point Vintage of 2007

Is rated 94 points by Robert Parker

And is as Parker puts it best...“already irresistible”!

“Perhaps the fi nest example I have ever tasted of the fl agship offering, the 2007 Bacio Divino (Cabernet Sauvignon and small quantities of Sangiovese, Petite Sirah, and Merlot) boasts copious aromas of sweet creme de cassis fruit intermixed with wild strawberries, spice box, loamy soil, pepper, and roasted herbs. In the mouth, the wine reveals pure, rich, opulent fruit, medium to full body, no hard edges, and a luscious, fl eshy style that is diffi cult to resist. It should age easily for 5-10 years, but it is already irresistible. Interesting wines are produced by longtime winemaker, Claus Janzen.” WA 12/09

Dominus Estate 2008 (99WA) {#341371} ............. 225.00 168.75“This estate, owned by Christian Moueix, includes the famed Napanook Vineyard that was the base of so many of the historic Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignons of the 1950s and 1960s. Interestingly, they have completely eliminated Merlot from the bottling. The 2007 Dominus is a 5,400-case blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. There are 4,200 cases of the 2008 Dominus which is composed of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Lower yields resulted in a denser, more concentrated wine. The remarkable thing about these cuvees is that they smell like a hypothetical blend of a top Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and a serious Bordeaux, possibly a cross blend of a Pomerol and Pauillac. Both wines possess silky sweet tannins, which is the big difference between Dominus post-1990 and the first seven vintages, where the tannin content was relatively high...

Made in a more masculine style, the 2008 Dominus has all of that along with bigger body and more structure, fat, density and texture. Both are brilliant wines and they represent the finest back-to-back vintages for Dominus since 2001 and 2002 or 1990 and 1991. Both the 2007 and 2008 Dominus should drink well for 25-30 years...99” WA 12/10

Wine due to the Zachys warehouse late June to mid July.

Better than their 98pt 2007—Dominus 2008 99pts: Perfection in Our Book!

In December of 2009, Robert Parker released his final review of the 2007 Dominus. Overall he rated the wine 98 points calling it “A Legend In the Making” and stated that the 2007 Dominus is “Perhaps the Finest Vintage at Dominus since their Historic 1994s and 1991s...” Making the 2007 Dominus tied for the second highest rating Dominus has ever achieved. The 1994 received 99pts and the 1991 received 98pts.

But this past December the already touted 2008 Dominus (barrel scores of 93-96 by Robert Parker) rocketed to the top of Robert Parker’s Napa Valley reviews when it received 99 points!

This clearly makes the 2008 Dominus one of the Vintage’s finest wines; not to mention one of the greatest wines ever produced at Dominus, if not the finest. Tie the 1994 Dominus as the highest scored Dominus ever, the 2008 Dominus just shows that this estate is only getting better and better with age.

If you thought the 2007 was something truly special and unique...then you need to try the 2008. Think 2007 just bolder. Yes it is bolder than the 2007 but it is no less refined. The 2008 Dominus has all that classic elegance and restraint that we have all come to enjoy in the wine and just happens to be one that is just a tad more powerful than the already power packed 2007.

After tasting the 2007 on numerous occasions it is hard to imagine how the 2008 can be better but by most tasters accounts it appears it is.

Bordeaux and Napa Cab lovers alike are going to want to cellar this wine for many, many years to come. In fact, this wine and the 2007 just might be two wines 30+ years from now that prove to the next generation or two that Napa Cabernets can age just as gracefully as Bordeaux. -JN
