2. 2. A printer that DOES NOT break, EVER. Wouldnt that be great? How many times have you been right in the middle of a project and your printer or copier goes down? Way too many times, I bet. Its a unanimous decision: the biggest frustration that professionals who use the copier at their business have is that it breaks too often. So lets fix this problem. A real estate services business owner contacted me because his leases are coming up for renewal and he needs to determine what printing solution will be best for him moving forward. Right now hes using two robust color copiers and running almost 30k copies monthly between the two machines. One of his frustrations with his current machines is that the document processor jams and that its causing downtime for 87 agents in his office.

4. 4. Instead of replacing two big old color machines with two big new color machines, I present a solution that will GUARANTEE 100% up-time at his real estate office: 4, brand new machines! Two big, black and white machines and two small color machines. Why? Because this real estate office has an upstairs and a downstairs office. So, using his current two machine solution as an example, if one of those machines goes down the agents that work with him have to go upstairs to make copies or downstairs depending on which machine is broken. My solution allows the agents to simply use a machine that is sitting right next to the machine that is out of order until one of our technicians comes out to fix the down machine, which usually takes about 4.5 hours.
5. 5. This office produces 27k black and white copies, but only 1,500 color copies monthly. Color marketing materials like flyers and brochures are all out- sourced so this office really doesnt need a color machine capable of a lot of copies, just good quality color copies; which our small color machines do. His big, new black and white machines will come with a dual scan document processor (DSDP) as opposed to a reversing automatic document processor (RADP). The DSDP is less prone to jams and problems because there is less moving parts. The DSDP can also scan more documents at a time and faster than any RADP. On top of that, this real estate owner and his team members can now print from their iphone, ipad or android devices which is very popular in real estate offices and something that he really wanted for them. They are also using software for scanning and distribution of documents that makes managing the paperwork at their office more efficient.
6. 6. My solution also costs him significantly less money every month. I cant take full credit for this idea. One of my friends who is an IT supervisor at a local company has 6 large machines that are running nearly 100k copies monthly told me that an ideal printing solution would include backup machines in case a machine goes down. With his input in mind I developed this solution that will ensure that the printer will NEVER break, at least at this place!
