Born and raised in Kings Mountain, NC, Pastor Tommy (59) became a Christian

through the ministry of VBS at the age of 10. As a Sophomore in college, he began

to better understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit in his life and became

involved in campus ministry. God used this experience, as well as the Holy

Spirit’s work in his life, to call him into full-time Christian ministry. Tommy

received his B.S. degree in Management from NC State University in 1980.

Answering God’s call to the work of evangelism, discipleship and developing

leaders, he was devoted to Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU) for 19 years where

he served as Campus Director at Virginia Tech University, Area Director for North

and South Carolina and Reginal Director for North and South Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky. In 2001,

while working with CRU, he earned a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological

Seminary. In 2002, Tommy answered God’s call to serve as Senior Pastor at Bent Creek Baptist Church

in Asheville, where he has served for the last 15 years.

Tommy and his Wife Lynn have been married for 35 years and are blessed with three sons: Matthew (28),

Nathan (27) and Daniel (21). Outside of his relationship with Jesus Christ, he enjoys hiking, reading and

having coffee with friends. Tommy’s passion is to influence as many people as possible from all nations

for the kingdom of God through teaching and sharing the gospel with those in our community and around

the world.

Make A Difference:

As You Keep Telling “Your Story”

God who called you to Himself and equipped you with His Spirit, wants to work MIGHTLY

through you. (Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you

and give you hope and a future.”) He has placed you precisely where you are with your story and to

share with others.

TESTIMONY 1-2 MINUTES:

1. What your life was like before you became a Christian?

2. When and how did you become a Christian?

3. How has the love of Jesus changed your life both

now and forever?

80% of the unchurched say they will attend church when personally invited by a neighbor, friend

or co-worker. May God empower us ALL to share our story and begin making a difference!

Remember…“Only one life twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.”

Be Blessed and seek to Be A Blessing.

Pastor Mike

Meals on Wheels needs your help. Monetary donations

would be appreciated. Also, help is needed with delivery.

I doubt that very few of you can read this without outside help. However, it is one of the most

recognized verses in all the Bible. How grateful we should be when we think of all the available

resources we have to study the Bible in our language. The most important resource is the Bible

itself. Read and commit to attending Bible Study this April!

Spring - longer days; flowers blooming; temperatures warmer! As we enjoy

this beautiful time of year, keep these verses in mind.

“Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things.” Psalm 98:1

“Praise the Lord, O my soul. I will praise the Lord all my life.”

Psalm 146:1b-2a

“Rejoice in the Lord always!” Philippians 4:4a

Inspire others to praise God. “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns

and spiritual songs. Sing and make music to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:19

No other name! “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave

him the name that is above every name” Philippians 2:9

“Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together.” Psalm 34:3

Have a Wonderful Spring!
