Rapunzel: Oh Iʼve always dreamed of seeing the floating lights! Flynn will you pleasetake me?
Flynn: Of course Rapunzel. Anything for you!
Rapunzel: What are the floating lights called again?
Flynn: Lanterns.
Rapunzel: Mother told me they were stars.
Flynn: Stars! Thats rediculous. Do you know anything about stars?
Rapunzel: Not too much.
Flynn: Well lucky for you Iʼm an expert.
Rapunzel: Of course you are (sarcastically).
Flynn: Well, do you know what stars really are?
Rapunzel: (sigh) No Flynn why donʼt you enlighten me.
Flynn: A star is a massive, lumionous sphere of plasma held together by gravity.
Rapunzel: Alright, if youʼre so smart tell me what theyʼre made of.
Flynn: Theyʼre composed largely of gas and plasma, a superheated state of mattercomposed of particles.
Rapunzel: Wow, you really do know a lot about stars, what else do you know?
Flynn: Well, hot stars are white or blue, and cooler stars appear to have orange or redhues.Rapunzel: Thatʼs so cool.Flynn: Another cool thing about stars is that their brightness is a factor of how muchenergy they put out.
Rapunzel: Oh thatʼs called their luminosity right?Flynn: Well look at you! Youʼre quite the expert yourself.Rapunzel: I donʼt think I know as much as you do.Flynn: Pretty impressive huh?
Rapunzel: Oh hush. Now tell me more!Flynn: Hmm let me think what else is there. AH! our universe likely contains more than100 billion galaxies and each of those galaxies may have been more than 100 billionstars.
Rapunzel: Oh my goodness that is a lot of stars! It does not seem like theres that manystars in the sky.
Flynn: Thatʼs because on a clear, dark night Earthʼs sky reveals only about 3,000 starsto the naked eye.Rapunzel: It would be cool if we could see stars during the day time too.
Flynn: Well you can see one star during the day.Rapunzel: What?
Flynn: The sun is a star. Itʼs actually the closest star to the Earth.Rapunzel: Wow! I didnʼt know that.
Flynn: I know Iʼm a buddle of information.
