I liked that this book was organized into very short parts and chapters, which made it easy to maintain focus on one topic or idea at a time.

This format is exactly what the author

Highlights: What I liked

advocates to communicate effectively in the digital age: clear and concise blocks of information that get right to the point.

I also liked that each chapter used a real‐world

story to introduce a new topic, and provided a bulleted list of advice or guidelines to apply the concept discussed in the chapter.

You don’t need to create formal presentations to benefit from this book.

Anyone that has to present a concept to a

peer or superior, or explain a complex topic/issue can find practical suggestions to bring meaning to an

audience through thoughtful explanation.

While the basic concepts of effective communication have not changed, proliferation of the Internet has altered not only how we get information, but how we express ourselves.

This book attempts to explain how digital technology is rewiring our brains and reshaping how we communicate, and how good communicators need to make the transition from print thinking to digital expression.

Conclusion

Book Review

As project managers, we frequently have to explain a complex issue or the impact of a change request to stakeholders at various levels in an organization.

This book provides a refresher on basic communication skills that are always relevant,

as well as ideas on how to use new technology to explain complex information in a meaningful way.
