*Project Identity*
In Project Identity kids will repeat some skills they have learned last year, while
investigating South-Africa. They will also learn a ‘new skill’; the geographical
dimensions. The Idea; the kids use the book as their main information source
and find out about South-Africa and use the dimensions to describe it. In their
description they use different maps (and scale levels), a self-made climate chart,
etc…
-
Skills last year:
Scale levels (zooming in/out)
Legends and mapreading
Atlas
Describing
Making and using climate charts
It means they have already studied large parts of chapter 1 themselves and the
teacher only has to repeat and give a recap (flipping the classroom).
Writing assignment – The life of a rock
The students use their descriptive writing skills to describe the life from a rock on
top of the mountain to the end of the river (ending in the sea). They write as if
they are the rock.
