WHAT IS STRYUM?Stryum intelligent aluminium façade is a range of high quality plate aluminium façade panels which provide an attractive, modern and reliable alternative to many commercial cladding products on the market today. Stryum products have been specifically designed by experienced commercial façade professionals to meet the demands of every sector of the international facade industry.

Paramount to every aspect of the design of Stryum intelligent aluminium façade is quality. VENTILATED RAINSCREEN FACADEDeveloped in Scandinavia in the 1960’s as a way of combating with the harsh climatic conditions - the rainscreen facade principle is integral to the Stryum system and its installation.

Rainscreen facade involves an outer building layer which deflects heat and moisture with a ventilated void behind that facilitates air flow and drainage - minimising environmental impacts and creating a more thermally regulated building interior.

Stryum’s interlocking aluminium panels are designed to be installed on a ventilated substructure in order to create the free circulation of air behind the panels themselves. This has many benefits including:

- Prevention of thermal bridging - Dissipation of solar gain - Reducing thermal movement of the structure - Prevention of internal condensation and mould growth - Creation of a more thermally regulated inner building - Resisting moisture and humidity - Allowance for water drainage

QUALITYWhen Designing the Stryum range our team made it paramount to make use of only the highest quality materials

and manufacturing techniques. Our raw aluminium

material and anodising and powder-coating processes make for a product

with an unmatched level of quality.

RELIABILITY

Due to Stryum’s intelligent design, there is no need for the use of any

external sealants, which can be prone to rapid corrosion and degradation. Our intelligent

Installation System also reduces the number of materials and processes

required during fabrication and installation – Put simply - there

are less components that have the potential to break, fault or corrode. This makes Stryum one of the most

reliable façade systems on the market today.

PREFINISH

Our entire Stryum panel range is pre-finished. This means there is

no requirement for painting or post finishing Stryum façade.

APPLICATION DIRECTIONThe first facet of Stryum’s finish options is the direction in which the panels are applied. The Stryum intelligent installation system incorporates an ability to apply panels to a façade in a vertical or horizontal fashion with equal ease. If a client is looking to excentuate the height of a tall feature wall they may choose a vertical application of Styrum Seam – conversely – if importance lies in cleanly matching the lines of slab edges or other fixtures an architect may choose to apply Stryum Step in a horizontal fashion. To make an even bolder or unique statement – panels may be applied at an angle across the face of a building bringing innovation and individuality to a façade.

ANODISINGAnodising is an electrochemical process which involves controlled oxidisation of the aluminium product, providing a harder and more environment resilient surface. Stryum anodised finishes are available in a large variety of clear, coloured, and metallic dyes. Chosen colours can then undergo other aesthetic driven mechanical processes to provide either brushed, satin, blasted, buffed, or bright dipped finishes. This provides Stryum customers with a plethora of options to suit any appearance or application requirement – while having the benefits of the environmental resistance of anodised products.

POWDERCOATINGPowder coating is a process by which electrically charged paint particles are sprayed onto Stryum’s aluminium surface. The aluminium is then baked in a specialised oven to produce a highly durable, flat powdercoated finish. Finish options for Styrum include both standard and high durability powdercoating in the full Dulux and Akzo Nobel powdercoating ranges. All standard and custom colours are available in a variety of gloss levels, metallic shades and textures. Consequently – Stryum customers have access to an almost limitless choice of powdercoated finish options to suit any architectural application and environment.

WOOD GRAIN EFFECTWood grain effect is now a common aesthetic applied to exterior façades and cladding. Wood grain effects allow industrial products to become a part of their natural surroundings by adopting the appearance of a natural material. Stryum panels are now available in a multitude of wood grain finishes. Essentially Stryum wood grain finishes are a powdercoated product – they hold the same durable and resilient qualities as their flat colour counterparts, but provide a unique and natural look and texture that can easily compliment the natural environment to which they are applied.

100 % RECYCLABLE MATERIALAluminium is one of the Earth’s most abundant elements. Stryum Aluminium panels are made from 100% aluminium – this means any offcuts and waste is able to be recycled without losing any of the materials natural qualities. The process of re-cycling aluminium also has much lower energy consumption than the recycling of aluminium/plastic composites. There is also less waste and by products when recycling aluminium as opposed to composite materials. Recycling aluminium only uses 5% of the energy required in primary aluminium production – since its inception, aluminium recycling has avoided over 1Billion metric tonnes of CO2 emissions.

AUSTRALIAN MADEMost commercial façade materials used in Australia are manufactured in foreign countries which elevates the use of sea and road freighting, increasing their carbon footprint. Made in Australia - Stryum is shipped directly from the manufacturer to the location where it is intended for use, minimising carbon emissions. Stryum also has to comply with Australian environmental regulations in its manufacturing and finishing operations. This allows customers to understand Stryum’s full life cycle and be assured that all is being done to minimise Stryum’s impact on the environment.

INTELLIGENT INSTALLATIONThe Stryum Intelligent Installation System is designed to reduce wastage and the number of materials and processes required to install a Stryum Façade. This creates savings in energy and greenhouse emissions throughout the installation process. Time, transport, materials, processes and human resources are all saved with our Intelligent installation System – contributing to a healthier environment overall.

LONGER LASTING & CORROSION RESISTANTThe high quality and unmatched longevity of Stryum aluminium products reduces the necessity for maintenance . Longer life span and strong corrosion resistance means that the need to replace panels is less frequent. These benefits contribute to an overall reduction in energy consumption across the Stryum range.

Some of the many environmental benefits of applying rainscreen theory include; dissipation of solar gain, prevention of internal condensation and mould growth and the creation of a more thermally regulated inner building.

SUSTAINABILITY

INTELLIGIENT INSTALLATIONStryum plate aluminium façade panels have been designed by a team of dedicated engineers and commercial façade installation professionals. Applying the rainscreen principle, the Stryum system is installed over a weatherproof substructure with air flow, drainage and ventilation occurring beneath the façade.

Stryum’s panels use a simple tab and hook mechanism that allows each panel to interlock with pre-loaded strength. Stryum panels then overlap one another, concealing all fixings and bringing a more modern and dynamic aesthetic. The Stryum system has also been designed so there is no need for external sealants making installation faster and reducing labour and material costs.

The Stryum System also incorporates specially designed trims that allow every architectural detail to be met with an effective and aesthetically pleasing solution.

Install vapour barrier/ weatherproof building envelope. It is essential that this layer is waterproof and acts as a primary seal.

Install plumb subframe at a minimum of 600mm centres.

Install Stryum starter extrusions and other Stryum trims.

Install Stryum base panel by hooking the panel’s bottom tab into the starter hook. Then move Stryum panel into place so top tab is against the subframe and fix to subframe using steel tek screws.

Install remainder of the Stryum façade by hooking the new panel’s bottom Tab into the previous panel’s top hook, moving into place, then fixing to the subframe.
