Stoney Creek Church

Senior Pastor Candidate to Speak Today

We welcome Dr. Josh Whitfield and his family to Stoney Creek Church today. Dr. Whitfield will be preaching in both morning wor-ship services. He was ordained in 2009 and was the Senior Pastor at Deep Run OFWB Church from 2008 to 2017. He is currently preach-ing on Sundays at a church outside our denomination and working fulltime as a Chaplain Resident in the Clinical Pastoral Education program at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He is also an ad-junct professor in the Department of Religion at University of Mount Olive where he has been teaching online and evening classes since 2012. Dr. Whitfield has met with the Pastor Search Committee sever-

al times and has had an initial meeting with the Board of Deacons and has met with the Pastoral Staff. The ongoing search process in-cludes consideration by the Deacon Board, Human Resources Com-mittee and Finance Committee. Please be much in prayer for the can-didate, his family and our church as we continue through this search process.

Volunteers are needed for our upcoming Missions Fundraiser. Throughout the day, we need cooks, wait staff, kitchen help, set-up and cleanup volunteers. At this time, we are putting an emphasis on afternoon and evening help. To volunteer, simply sign up this morning on the clipboards in the

IC hallway. THIS IS A CHURCHWIDE EFFORT. If you have questions, please con-tact Jim Malpass, El-liott Futrell, or Trent Pilkington.

Senior Adult Bible Study

<<Location Change THIS week ONLY>>

The Fellowship Hall is being used for Spring Fling set-up—so this week only—Tuesday (2/27)—our Senior Adult Bible Study group will meet in the dining room at Lane Tree Golf Club at

11 a.m. for fellowship, prayer and lunch with Pastor Barry. NOTE the TIME CHANGE. Please join us. Feel free to bring your friends! We will be back

in our normal location and regular time the following week (3/6).

A NEW Cooking Class & Lunch at Spice Bouquet Thursday, March 29th. 11:10 a.m.

Many have suggested that we make a return trip to the Spice Bouquet near Kinston to participate in another cooking class in their test kitchen. As a result of your sugges-tions, we are making a return trip on March 29th for a new cooking class with a new menu! We will be fed a delicious lunch—while being taught how to cook the meal we are eating! We will learn techniques on how to prepare quick, easy, inexpensive and healthy meals. Our class will include a full meal, a packet containing the menu and recipes for the items served, as well as a certificate of participation.

The cost of the class, including a full lunch meal, appetizers and beverage with refills is $20.00 per person. Men and women are both encouraged to join us on this fulfilling outing. Feel free to invite others including non-senior adults.

We’re scheduled for a 12 noon class—just in time for lunch! The session lasts just under 2 hours—including our lunch meal. Don’t forget to sign-up! Feel free to invite your friends! Also—take a look at the notebook on the Senior Info Table and read the comments you made during our last cooking class! Payment due by Sunday, March 11th. Sign up in Connector. You can attend even if not a Primetimer!

Attention Church Members & Regular Attenders We are hoping to soon publish a new phone/address directory. Please contact the church office ASAP if you have changed your address or phone number or no longer have a home phone and using your cell phone only. Often, the church office is not notified of these changes. This is how members of the church send cards, make phone calls, etc. Please help us keep our records ac-curate. We want YOU to stay connected!

Primetimer’s 2018 Calendar of Events

Be sure to stop by the Senior Info Center in the Connector and pick up a copy of 2018 Ministry Calendar so you can make plans to join us for

some exciting activities throughout the year.
