HANDHELD USERINTERFACES Two types of handheldmachine control interfacepanels are available. ThisBluetooth connected panelfeatures easy-to-operatetactile buttons and a highresolution touch screen toset-up and monitor tests whereparameters and results are
shown numerically. This panelalso features an 8MP cameraand has optional wi internetconnectivity.
HORIZON SOFTWAREOur Horizon software sets new standards of data analysisby adding a host of report writing and data manipulationcapabilities that will make easy work of your materials testingprograms, whether they’re designed for the demanding rigorsof R&D or the charting and analysis functions of QC testing.
In addition to powerful reports, Horizon Materials Testingsoftware is networkable and scalable so operators andmanagers can operate equipment and review test resultsfrom multiple sources and locations.
This tethered interfaceoption features larger tactilefeedback buttons for theoperation of the testing frame;these make it ideal for userswho need to wear protectivegloves while operating the
machine. The display providessimple numerical display ofindividual channels usedon the testing machine.
The ST series of electromechanicaltesting machines from Tinius Olsenare designed to test a wide rangeof materials, including, but notlimited to: plastics, lms, paper, packaging materials, lter material, adhesives, foils, food, toys, medicaldevices and components, intension, compression, exure, shear, and peel. All ST series machines can beused with selection of hand heldinterfaces or a virtual machineinterface running on a connected
PC. Powerful data analysis andmachine control software (ourHorizon Materials Testing software)can be added to your system toprovide a library of standardisedtest routines, generate a completegraphical result of your test, andperform sophisticated powerfulanalyses on the test data toproduce the test report you need. A comprehensive selection ofself identifying loadcells, grips
and xtures to hold the simplestto most complex specimen prole, strain measurement instrumentsthat employ several differenttechnologies, temperaturechambers, and more can be used inconjunction with these test framesand Horizon software to ensureyou have one of the best, mostaccurate, most repeatable, exibleand easy-to-use systems on themarket today.
This virtual machine interface runson a connected PC and can be usedto set up and run a test to provide aquick numerical result. The additionof Horizon software with any of theseinterface panels allows complex teststo be created and recalled, alongwith sophisticated data analysis of allgraphical data.

T SLOTS To keep the testing area as open and
uncluttered, and exible, as possible, each test system features T slots inthe columns. These T slots can beused to attach the hand held interface,a video camera stand, automaticextensometer support, and strain gaugeor LVDT extensometer support andswing away, guards and shields etc, using vibration-free articulating arms.By keeping the test area as unclutteredas possible, unrestricted access tochambers and test tanks is maintained.
ACCURACYWe have the most robust, reliableand accurate load measuring systemsavailable in the machine. This systemallows us to achieve an accuracy of
better than 0.2% of the reading from0.2% to 100% of the loadcell capacity.
DATA RATEInternal sample and update frequencycan be up to 2.73k samples per secondper channel while the data transfer rateto a computer running Horizon softwarevia USB2 connection is restricted to1kHz. to ensure data is free of noiseand spikes and prevents erroneousresults being reported.
ACCESSORY CONNECTIVITYUp to a maximum of 4 connectionscan be made with the test frame viabuilt-in accessory connection panel onthe machine.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
BUILT IN PNEUMATIC SUPPLYConnections for compressed air builtinto the machine (a compressed air inletis supplied on the rear of the machine). This allows operation of pneumatic gripswithout having long air supply linesobstructing the test area.
EXTENSOMETERSFull complement of video, automatic, encoder, laser, strain gage, and LVDTextensometers are available for thedetermination of specimen strain.

Model 10ST - 10 kN(1,000 kg/2,000 lbf)
The Tinius Olsen benchtop range ofST models feature both single anddual column frames. The singlecolumn models have frame capaci-ties of 1 kN (100 kgf, 200 lbf) and5 kN (500 kgf, 1,100 lbf), whiledual column models are availblein capacities of 10 kN (1,000 kgf,2,200 lbf), 25 kN (2,500 kgf,5,000 lbf) and 50kN (5,000 kgf,11,000 lbf), and are designed totest a vast range of materials andfinished products for strengthproperties in tension, compression,
flexure, shear, tear, and peel. They give you the ultimate in
durability, speed, accuracy, andconvenience and feature highprecision, interchangeable straingauge load cells for capturingapplied load data. This designallows rapid change of machinecapacity from as little as 0.2%of the capacity of the smallestloadcell to the maximum framecapacity in a very simple process.
The construction of themachine frame, leadscrews, anddrive system make them unique.Even at full capacity, these frameshave excellent rigidity withnegligible frame deflection.
The machines can be operatedat speeds ranging from aminimum of 0.001 mm/min (0.04thousandths of an inch per minute)to a maximum of up to 1000mm/min (40 inches per minute),depending on frame size, whichaccommodates a wide range ofmaterials and specimens.
Frame flexibility is furtherextended by a wide array ofaccessories including various opticaland electronic extensometers, compressometers and deflectome-ters, hot and cold temperature testchambers for sample conditioningand testing, high temperaturefurnaces (with high temperaturecapable extensometers), as well as
grips, holders, jigs, and platens forholding the test specimens.
