Navjot Singh was a student in my Network Security class at NYU-Poly in Spring 2014, and then as my Teaching Assistant. Network Security is a 2 nd year Graduate class geared towards students studying towards a M.S. in Cybersecurity where students gain experience of the method and tools for performing information security assessments of systems and to learn how to defend against attacks. Additionally, students have hands on experience with security tools using a closed virtualized environment that contains network penetration tools and vulnerable systems to target. Navjot was the #1 student in the class by weighted score, and thus I asked him to be my teaching assistant for the following two subsequent semesters. Navjot is responsible holding weekly office hours to assist students with assignments and to discuss tricky topics with students, grading assignments in a timely manner, and identifying areas of improvements in the class. As a student, Navjot was an active participant in all classes, routinely asked through provoking question on the course material, and often stayed late behind class for further discussion. Each of his assignments were submitted on-time and were of really high quality. As a TA, he demonstrates that he is extremely responsible, has a great attention to detail, and works hard to enable students achieve in this course. I’m certain that Navjot will be a great contributor to any organization that he joins. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for further details.
