•  Free service until you have 2000 subscribers (email footer includes Mailchimp branding).

•  Some features missing, but if you’re starting up you most likely won’t notice them.

•  Pay per send costs: 3 cents (USD) per email


Preface. Setting up an account


Follow instructions at:

login.mailchimp.com/signup Mailchimp will guide you through the required information (you’ll need to supply things like your website address, a street address etc.)


Step 1. Import your subscriber list


Start by adding subscribers


Ideally, have an existing spreadsheet or text file


You can copy & paste too (just follow the instructions)


An insider tip…

Insider tip: Manually dd a few different email types, so you can test how the newsletter looks to different platforms eg. Gmail, hotmail, yahoo


Step 2. Create your newsletter


What type of newsletter?


Whole subscriber list, or 1 part of a list?


What’s your subject?


Tracking (an absolute must-do!)


Create your own design template…


…or use a Mailchimp theme.


Use the Drag & Drop editor to add areas of text & images Insider tip: Once you like your work, save it as a template


Use the wysiwyg editor to format text

You can also switch to the code view


Step 3. Test, test (then test some more)


Send a test email


Use multiple addresses to test


Step 4. Take a deep breath.
