On 20th August Ian and I a t t e n d e d t h e R S L Stadium and enjoyed the venue where we were able to walk around in comfort and visit all the service providers. There was free tea, coffee and biscuits plus tables and chairs which were most welcome when rest was needed. We took back lots of i n f o r m a t i o n t o t h e Community Centre. On 22nd the Community Centre organised a bus and we were taken to the Reid Park venue for the luncheon. Although there were lots of people it didn’t appear to be too c r o w d e d . T h e e n t e r t a i n m e n t a n d speeches were easily heard although drowned out by conversations at the table.Cold water was in plentiful supply and the young people were very good at replacing the water when they saw the bottle nearly empty.I enjoyed both events and recommend going. 2015 Seniors Week is only 11 months away.Jeanette Eadie

Support important for local business
The Upper Ross has a great sense of community. Part of being in a community is supporting one another and that includes local businesses. The Buy Local ly campaign encourages people to shop form local stores and keep locals in jobs.Shopping at a local business means your money goes back into the community, so I encourage you to support your local butcher, baker or fish and chip shop and keep the sense of community alive.
