Onaji aha nara odoranya son son -A. dancing fool and a watching fool, since they are both fools, what a waste not to dance. To truly dance Bon Odori is to be truly connected. It must be done without a calculating mind, without a mind needing to always be in control. It is "just dancing" in its purest form- without guile, without pretense, without embarrassment, without ego asserting itself in any di'rection. We invite you to connect with each other and all things living and dead in this Gathering of }'oy. After the dancing; you are invited to- Oshoko in the Hondo· and light one or several of the 1000 oil lamps in the murtyard made by Senshi-n membeT Mr. Leo Sugano. You are invited to light an oi1lamp in memory of a loved one, one you are indebted to, friend and enemy alike. Following the lighting of the memorial lamps will be an otoki of cold noodles and a Horaku presentation by the Kinnara Taiko, and others. donated to the Southern District JR YBA Endowment Fund. Way to go Jr.'s!

Sangha Teens- In June we attended Jr. YBA's Parents Day Breakfast. We also joined other chapters in a district-wide Obon activity hosted by San Fernando Valley Temple Sangha Teens, which included service and a talk by Rev. Patti Usuki, hands­on workshops learning how to dress in a yukata, make ten ugui and uchiwa, and learning dances. Our next activity will be Senshin Bon Odori on July 6tta. SUNAO KIKUNAGA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP The recipient of the Sunao Buddhist church. Kikunaga Memorial Scholarship for the year 2013 is:

The Sunao Kikunaga Memorial Scholarship was established at Senshin Buddhist Temple in Los Angeles in memory of Mr. Sunao Kikunaga, a long-time member, supporter, and leader at the Senshin temple by his family. The Regular Treasurer is required to send receipts for donations $250.00 and over. Receipts for all other donations will not be sent unless requested by the donor. Membership dues are $189.00 per individual ($364.00 per couple). The dues include BCA membership fees. Members 80 years of age and over need not pay temple dues but may pay $99.00 for BCA dues which includes the Wheel of Dharma newsletter.
