Recommendations for 2014-2015

• Continue consideration for granting the last phase of raises for nurses to bring them up to the pay scale of teaching staff

• Consideration for the upgrade of high school health assistants to licensed health professionals

• Propose an update to Policy 3107 -Guidance on the Implementation of Nutrition Related School-Based Activities to meet the standards of the USDA Smart Snack Food Guidelines which is effective July 1, 2014

• Rotation of SHAC facilitator using the school health model• Continue discussion regarding the needs of our McKinney-

Vento students and students with Diabetes

Conclusion

The School Health Advisory Committee will continue to explore pertinent health topics that may be of interest to the school board, community members, and SCPS staff
