Everyday Stewardship My mother-in-law was the best gift-giver I ever knew. One could say my parents spoiled me growing up, but there was something about her gifts to me that made me feel overwhelmed. I guess it was that after several years I still was surprised that she would think enough of me to get me something no one else would. She was able to make me feel special every time. Of course, I believe she honored me in this way because I accepted her greatest gift to me, her daughter. Sadly, my mother-in-law did not live long in this world. She passed away over a decade ago due to an ag-gressive cancer. Some of her material gifts to me re-main, while others are long gone. But the memories and the effect of those gifts remain because it was nev-er all about the gifts themselves. It was about relation-ship. It was about her and me. It was about love. What we offer Jesus is never about the gift itself. It is about the motivation behind the action and the effect that action has on the body of Christ. Many of the gifts we give today to God and his people will fade away like the mist of the early morning, but the effects of those actions will last forever. It is about relationship. It is about God and us. It is about love.

La corresponsabilidad diaria Mi suegra era una mujer que daba siempre lo mejores regalos. Uno puede pensar que mis padres me mal-criaban durante mi infancia, pero había algo sobre los regalos que me abrumaba. Me imagino que fue después de varios años cuando todavía estaba sorprendido cuando ella me conseguía algo especial. Todas las veces ella hacía sentirme especial. Por supuesto, creo que ella me honraba de esta manera porque acepté el más grande regalo de ella: su hija. Tristemente, mi suegra no vivió por muchos años. Ella falleció de cáncer hace diez años. Todavía conservo algunos de los regalos, aunque algunos ya no los ten-go. Pero el recuerdo y el efecto de estos regalos per-manecen, porque lo importante no eran los regalos en sí, era la relación. Era ella y yo; era el amor. Lo que ofrecemos a Jesús no es el regalo en sí; es la motivación que hay detrás de la acción y el efecto que la acción tiene en el cuerpo de Cristo. Muchos de los regalos que damos a Dios y a su gente desaparecerán como el rocío al comienzo de la mañana, pero los efectos de estas acciones durarán para siempre. Todo es sobre la relación, sobre Dios y nosotros, y sobre el amor. .

invest for God in this Parish Community, with our time, talent

and treasure. We will not be alone, Christ Jesus will walk with

us. The Parish is a great family united by faith, the Word of God

and service to others. You are invited to work in the Vineyard of

the Lord. The activities described below help us not be distract-
