Gosford Times 20th August 1915 Mr. Frank Ritchie, who has enlisted, was given a “send off” at Mr. Cashin’s residence, Wamberal. Proceedings commenced with the National Anthem, after which sing-ing, dancing and speech making was the order of the evening. Songs were rendered by Mr. Coulson, Mr. Rosamond, Miss Weiss, and Miss Coulter. During the interval refreshments were handed round by the ladies. Speeches were made by Messrs. P Nolan (chairman), Smalley, Robson, Rosamond, Redgate, Weiss and E Watkins. Music for dancing was supplied by Misses Wil-son, of Terrigal, and Tumbi Band.
Gosford Times 22nd October 1915 WAMBERAL From Our Correspondent Trooper Willie Low, who sailed on Wednesday last for the front, was presented, on departure for camp on Monday last, with a pair of field glasses by his Wamberal friends. He wishes to express his gratitude to the Wamberal peo-ple for their handsome gift. Frank Ritchie also sailed on Wednesday. Writer wishes both lads God speed.
