GALLEGO DOBON, AINA

[email protected] Aina Gallego is a post-doctoral researcher at the Political Science Department of Stanford University since July 2010. She earned a PhD in Political Science in 2008 at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. She has also been a Senior researcher and lecturer at the Research and Expertise Centre for Survey Methodology, Universidad Pompeu Fabra. Her dissertation analyzed inequalities in voter turnout in a broad comparative perspective. This work, which won the Juan Linz prize to the best dissertation in Political Science, is forthcoming as a book published by Cambridge University Press, the most prestigious book press in Political Science. Her research has relevant policy implications. In 2010, the European Commission invited the applicant to present her research on political inequality at debates about the �Europe 2020 strategy for inclusive growth� in Brussels. To date, the applicant has 27 publications, including journal articles, books, and book chapters. Her work has appeared in top journals such as Comparative Political Studies, Political Behavior, Electoral Studies, Environment and Planning C, Journal of Information Technology and Politics, among other outlets. Twelve of her articles are published in journals indexed by the ISI Journal Citation Reports, of which six are in the first quartile of their field. Her substantive and methodological contributions have advanced knowledge in comparative political behavior in various ways (see the document �Summary of the 10 more relevant

contributions�) and her work is already widely cited. The applicant has participated in multiple international research projects funded by the European Research Council, the European Science Foundation, and other organizations. The projects �Active Civic Participation�

(VI Framework Program) and �Voter turnout and abstention in context� (ESF) analyzed the effects of individual and contextual characteristics on voter participation in electoral democracies. She was also part of the Spanish team of the European Social Survey, one of the most important collaborative European projects in the social sciences. The applicant has a solid network of co-authors in several countries. She is currently working in projects with researchers based in the UK, the US, Spain, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy. In her pre-doctoral research, she conducted research stays at the Université de Montréal, Essex University, the University of California at Irvine, and the European University Institute. She has organized several international workshops, scientific sections, and panels at international conferences such as the General Conference and the Joint Sessions of the European Consortium for Political Research. She regularly attends the most important international conferences, including the Annual Meetings of the American Political Science Association and the

Midwest Political Science Association. She serves as a reviewer for top tier international journals including the Journal of Politics, British Journal of Political Science, European Journal of Political Research, International Sociology, Comparative Political Studies, or Political Psychology, among others. El candidato acredita una notabilísima y sostenida participación en proyectos de investigación sobre las poéticas y las políticas de la primera Edad Moderna, todos ellos financiados con fondos públicos obtenidos en convocatorias nacionales e internacionales y dirigidos por reconocidos expertos en la materia. Asimismo, el candidato ha obtenido a título personal financiación nacional y europea para la investigación en forma de becas, contratos, proyectos y ayudas para la organización de eventos científicos en varias convocatorias competitivas (entre otros: programas Juan de la Cierva y Marie Curie Fellowships), lo que demuestra su madurez intelectual, su autonomía y capacidad de desarrollo de líneas de investigación propias, su capacidad de liderazgo y la excelencia científica de sus propuestas y resultados. La dirección y participación en proyectos de investigación se ha traducido tanto en la adquisición de experiencia y conocimiento en gestión de la investigación (diseño de proyectos, coordinación de equipos, gestión de revistas científicas, organización de encuentros), como en resultados científicos publicados en forma de libros monográficos, ediciones, libros colectivos, capítulos de libros, artículos y conferencias en congresos y seminarios internacionales. [email protected] José-Luis Peydró is a Visiting Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and Barcelona GSE, a Research Advisor at Bank of Spain, a Research Fellow at IESE Public-Private Sector Research Center, a consultant at International Monetary Fund and at the European Central (where he has a leave of absence). He has published his research in the top academic journals in both Economics and Finance as the American Economic Review, the Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Finance. He has presented his research in top universities as Harvard and MIT and in conferences as the American Economic Association, American Finance Association, CEPR and NBER.

His main policy areas have been macro-prudential, stress-testing, liquidity injections in interbank markets, bank capital requirements, bank lending behavior and monetary policy, and he has presented in major policy organizations as the Board at DC and New York Fed, IMF, ECB, BIS, Bundesbank, Bank of Spain and Bank of England. He has also presented at major policy conferences as the 5th ECB Central Banking Conference. He holds a PhD in Finance from INSEAD and a Master in Economics from CEMFI. He was awarded first prize by the Government of Spain for the student with highest GPA in finishing a BA in Economics in Spain in 1997.

ARANGO LASPRILLA, JUAN CARLOS

[email protected] Dr. Juan Carlos Arango is currently an Ikerbasque, Research professor at University of Deusto in Bilbao, Spain. A neuropsychologist by training, Dr. Arango areas of expertise are neuropsychology, traumatic brain injury and rehabilitation. He has been instrumental in securing over $5 million dollars in grant funds as PI and co-PI, primarily focusing on research with culturally diverse populations. He has received national and international recognition for his work in the area of brain injury and rehabilitation, including early career/emerging professional awards from the American Psychological Association�s Division 22 Rehabilitation Psychology and Division 45 (Society for the Psychological Study of Ethnic Minority Issues), National Academy of Neuropsychology 2011 and the International Brain Injury Association 2012. Dr. Arango has published more than 140 articles and book chapters. He is well-known both in the US and abroad in his areas of expertise, and has been a guest editor of six special issues in prominent rehabilitation journals. He currently serves on the editorial boards of 20 publications and is a reviewer for an additional 25 journals around the world. Dr. Arango has conducted numerous research studies in Europe, Central America, South America and the United States focused on understanding and addressing the cognitive, psychological and emotional needs of individuals with brain injury and their families. As a renowned expert in his field, he is often invited to national and international conferences to speak on brain injury, neuropsychology, and rehabilitation. Dr. Arango enjoys teaching and has lectured at Grand Rounds and at more than 35 different universities across the globe. Dr. Arango is a pioneer in his line of research; when he received his doctorate in 2002, there were few published articles examining neuropsychological and rehabilitation outcomes in culturally, racially, and ethnically diverse populations after traumatic brain injury. Through his publications, history of grant-funded research, and teaching/training activities, Dr. Arango has succeeded in bringing this issue to the forefront of rehabilitation research and the minds of neuropsychologist and rehabilitation professionals.

Carvalho is a Junior Researcher at the Centre de Recerca en Economia Internacional, Adjunct Professor at the Department of Economics of Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and a Research Affiliate at CEPR. He completed his PhD in Economics at the University of Chicago in August 2008.

His main research areas are in Macroeconomics and Applied Econometrics. His research in Macroeconomics has focused on the sectoral origins of business cycle phenomena and, in particular, how the structure of input supply linkages across sectors can facilitate the propagation of shocks and, as an upshot, generate strong cyclical comovement. His research is also concerned with the business cycle implications of processes of structural change and, in particular, how the decline of manufacturing and the rise of services can explain the evolving patterns of business cycle volatility in the past half-century. In Applied Econometrics, he has focused on the development of time series methods that assess long run processes of cross-country and regional convergence as well as the emergence of common cycles across countries or sectors. Vasco M. Carvalho has published his research in leading international academic journals such as the American Economic Review, Econometrica, American Economic Review P&P, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, the Journal of Applied Econometrics and the International Journal of Forecasting. He has been invited to present his work in major international academic conferences such as the NBER Summer Institute, Minnesota Workshop in Macroeconomic Theory, the CEPR European Summer Symposium in International Macroeconomics, the American Economic Association Annual Meetings, the European Economic Association Meetings and the Society of Economic Dynamics Annual Meetings, among others. Carvalho has also been invited to present his research in major academic research institutions such as Northwestern University, New York University, UCLA, Carnegie-Mellon University, University of Rochester, LSE, the University of Cambridge, the World Bank and the European Central Bank among others. He has been involved in conference organization activities such as the �CREI/MOVE/CEPR Workshop on

Misallocation and Productivity�, the �Workshop on Structural Change & Macroeconomic Dynamics� and he is in the program committee for the upcoming Society for Economic Dynamics Annual Meeting in 2013. [email protected] By training a psychologist (Diplom, mark: excellent), I decided during my studies and through the involvement in ongoing research projects at the University of Leipzig and at the Max-Planck Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience to become a researcher in the field of cognitive neuroscience. During my PhD, I developed a new line of research investigating the processing of temporal aspects of acoustic stimulation by means of behavioral and electroencephalographic measures. In 2007, I received the Junior Scientist Award of the German Society for Psychophysiological Research for a crucial part of this work and disseminated the outcomes not only in 6 peer-reviewed publications (e.g. Cognitive Brain Research, Neuroimage), but also to the broader public through interviews to a German radio station. During my postdoctoral period at the Cognitive Neuroscience Research Group of the University of Barcelona, I was crucially involved in developing an innovative research project that investigates auditory novelty detection at different levels of the auditory hierarchy. It involved the measurement of auditory EEG and MEG responses generated in lower-to-upper auditory cortical areas and subcortical auditory structures. This made it necessary to set up a new EEG lab (including a new amplifier, electrode caps, stimulation equipment, free-field loudspeaker system) and I took a leading role in the conceptual and technical part of this lab transformation. The success of the following work is proven by up-to-date 13 publications on the topic in high-quality peer-reviewed journals (e.g. J Neurosci, PLoS One, Cerebral Cortex, Psychophysiology) in all of which I have taken a lead authorship, including a review article written by me as a first-author. This work has attracted the interest of leading scientists in the field and opened doors for international collaborations, e.g. it resulted in a joint publication with Prof. Kimmo Alho, University of Helsinki, Finland. During my career, I have successfully collaborated with more than 20 researchers in 6 different countries across and beyond Europe. My mentoring and co-supervision of 5 postgraduate students (one of which has successfully completed in December 2011) and my involvement in training undergraduate and ERASMUS students demonstrate my ability to lead and motivate students (as proven by the students� high-quality international journal publications). I have been constantly enrolled in teaching activities during the last 9 years, including undergraduate seminars (e.g. Psychology of Perception), undergraduate lecture series (e.g. Biological Psychology) at the University Leipzig and courses in the Master for Neuroscience and Master for Clinical

Neuropsychology at the University Barcelona. With 27 peer-reviewed publications (including 9 first-author and 10 second-author publications) and an h index of 8 (WoS), I have an excellent and continuous research track record demonstrating an international standing in the field. All together, my peer-reviewed journal publications were cited 212 times, more than half of these citations (N=121) were referring to my 9 first-author papers. Over the last 5 years my scientific output has been constantly growing (2008/2009: 2 / 2010: 3 / 2011: 4 / 2012: 7 publications) with the number of citations following a similar increasing trend (2010: 25 / 2011: 36 / 2012: 79 citations).

En 1998 la Comisión Fulbright me concedió una beca predoctoral para ir a la Universidad de Michigan, Ann Arbor (Geoff Eley, Sonya Rose, Katleen Canning, Carrol Smith-Rosenberg) Fruto de esta experiencia fue la lectura en 2000 de mi tesis de licenciatura en la Universidad de Valencia (sobresaliente por unanimidad) que

publiqué en la prestigiosa revista inglesa Social History dentro de un número especial dedicado a la España contemporánea, que yo misma coedité en 2004 y que poco después fue traducido al castellano. En 1999 me habían aceptado en el programa de doctorado interdisciplinar de la propia Universidad de Michigan (History and Women�s Studies) que fue íntegramente financiado por la universidad, donde recibí, además, prestigiosas becas (Rackham Humanities Pre-dissertation Fellowship, 2003-2004; Rackham Humanities Dissertation Fellowship, 2004-2005), y premios (D�Arms Award in the Humanities, 2000 y 2001, Robin I. Thevenet, 2001). Especialmente relevante fue la concesión de una beca para participar en el proyecto anual, financiado y organizado por el Advanced Study Center, en el que participaron más de treinta académicos de todo el mundo de reconocido prestigio y del que salió una publicación de referencia en la que yo misma participé en 2006. En el contexto norteamericano, el acceso a estas publicaciones es verdaderamente extraordinario antes de obtener el título de doctor. En 2002 había recibido el título de Master por dicha universidad y, en 2008, el de doctora (chairs, Geoff Eley y Sonya Rose) (premio de la AEIHM, 2010), y la reelaboración ampliada de la misma fue publicada por Cátedra (Las damas del liberalismo respetable, los imaginarios sociales del feminismo liberal en España, 2012). Mi interés ha sido el de demostrar cómo diferentes nociones de la diferencia sexual modelaron los fundamentos ideológicos e institucionales sobre los que se creó la sociedad liberal en la España de la primera mitad del siglo XIX y cómo las mujeres reelaboraron discursos críticos con dichos fundamentos a través, casi siempre, de los lenguajes masculinos. En esta línea renovadora ha visto la luz también, por ejemplo, mi coedición de un número especial de la revista Ayer sobre historia de las mujeres en España entre la Ilustración y el liberalismo (2010). Durante estos últimos años, (2009-agosto 2013) como Juan de la Cierva, he participado en tres proyectos de investigación, uno nacional y dos de ellos internacionales (European Network on the Theory and Practice of Biography y Women Writers in History. Toward a New Understanding of European Literary Culture, European Cooperation in Science and Technology, COST Action.) A lo largo de estos años he escrito numerosos artículos y capítulos de libro en publicaciones de alto impacto, he participado en diferentes congresos internacionales y nacionales y soy miembro de varios consejos asesores o comités de evaluación de varias publicaciones. Además, he impartido docencia durante más de siete años relacionada tanto con la historia contemporánea de Europa como con la historia de las mujeres, tanto en Estados Unidos como en España, tanto a estudiantes de primer ciclo como de posgrado.

n posgrado de "la Caixa" y el Gobierno francés. De 2008 a 2011 fui investigadora Juan de la Cierva del GEDIME, dirigido por Carlota Solé, en la UAB. Mi trayectoria se caracteriza por los análisis sobre grupos culturales, migraciones y género, aportando la perspectiva educativa como clave para la superación de las desigualdades sociales. Así se refleja en los 20 proyectos de investigación competitiva en los que he participado, y en las 26 publicaciones que de ellos se derivan; de las cuales 18 artículos en revistas científicas, 4 de ellas indexadas en el Journal Citation Reports de ISI. Destacan especialmente el artículo sobre la utilidad de la metodología comunicativa para la investigación con grupos culturales como el pueblo gitano publicado en QUALITATIVE INQUIRY (JCR,Q1); el artículo sobre las consecuencias sociales de los discursos racista y antirracista en la Revista latinoamericana SIGNOS (JCR,Q4), del que soy primera autora; y el artículo teórico del GEDIME (Carlota Solé et al) que aporta una definición del concepto de cohesión social en tres dimensiones (cultural, redistributiva y relacional) unida a un análisis de las políticas sobre inmigración, publicado en la REVISTA INTERNACIONAL DE SOCIOLOGÍA (JCR,Q4). A fecha de hoy la revista SCRIPTA NOVA (JCR,Q4) ha aceptado el artículo que aborda el debate sobre las dificultades de consolidación y ampliación de la UE a partir de los conceptos de comunidad societal Y patriotismo de la constitución, acuñados por Parsons y Habermas respectivamente. La mayoría de los proyectos de mi currículum están financiados por convocatorias públicas competitivas, como los Programas Marco de la Comisión Europea (PM) o el Plan Nacional de I+D+i. Destaca el análisis de la inclusión y la cohesión social desde la educación (INCLUD-ED, 6PM), la ciudadanía (ETGACE, 5PM), las condiciones de vida de grupos socialmente vulnerables como estudiantes adultos no tradicionales (ACCESS, 4PM), grupos culturales y migrantes (AMAL y TRANSMIGRA, RETTRANS, I+D) y pueblo gitano (WORKALÓ, 5PM; MESTIPEN ROMÍ y DROM-IN, I+D). Destaca también mi contribución en el GEDIME para la obtención de proyectos financiados por el Instituto de la Mujer y la Secretaría para la Inmigración de la Generalitat de Catalunya. Ambos profundizaron en las contribuciones de las mujeres inmigrantes para la ciudadanía cívica y la inclusión social, una importante aportación para consolidar una línea de investigación sobre mujer arabo-musulmana en el grupo. Mi actividad docente se ha visto beneficiada por la investigación que he llevado a cabo en diversas titulaciones de Ciencias Sociales y de la Educación. Desde el año 2000 hasta la actualidad he impartido docencia en Magisterio (UB y UAB); Educación Social (UB); Sociología (UB y UAB); Grados de Educación Primaria y Economía-ADE (UAB), entre otras. Aquí destaca el capítulo publicado en el manual de Sociología de la Educación (2003), bajo la coordinación de F. Fdez. Palomares (última reimpresión en julio de 2012).

[email protected] La trayectoria científica y académica del solicitante tiene como misión principal la investigación sobre Arquitectura antigua de Roma y Occidente, a través de una especialización arqueológica conectada transversalmente con la Historia del Arte, la Literatura Clásica y la puesta en valor y la difusión social del Patrimonio Histórico. Se puede valorar su solidez, potencialidad y variedad científica en función de: 1.- Su plena inmersión en ámbito europeo, a través del estudio de algunos monumentos de la Roma Antigua: teatros de Pompeyo, Marcelo y Balbo, Foro de Augusto, Via Triumphalis, Circo Flaminio, Acueductos o Forma Urbis Marmorea entre otros. Y de algunos teatros romanos significativos en ámbito occidental; Córdoba (España), Spoleto (Italia), Arles u Orange (Francia). 2.- La dirección como I.P de un Proyecto de Investigación del Plan Nacional I + D + I 2008-2011, modalidad A con la máxima calificación (A), que aglutina a investigadores españoles (CSIC, UAB, UCO, entre otros), pero sobre todo extranjeros (CNRS, Universitè de Lyon 2, Universitè de Paris VIII, Universitè de Provence, Sovraintendenza ai Beni Culturali del Comune di Roma), que pretenden consolidar una red europea de investigación sobre los teatros romanos. 3.- La dirección de las investigaciones en los Espacios de la Muerte de César en Roma (Curia Pompeia) y Hecatostylon, en el seno del estudio general del Área Sacra di Torre Argentina que conduce la Sovraintendenza ai Beni Culturali del Comune. Ambos proyectos posibilitan capacidad de liderazgo de equipos y presencia consolidada en ámbito internacional; que consideramos bases firmes para proyectos futuros. 4.- La participación, complementaria, en otros 18 proyectos de investigación, en España, Italia y Francia, de ámbito cronológico y temática científica suficientemente diversa. 5.- La pertenencia a cuatro equipos de trabajo, tanto en España como en Italia y Francia; igualmente con especialidades y cronología amplia, mediante la aplicación conectada, diacrónica y experimental de los métodos propios de la Arqueología de la Arquitectura. 6.- La publicación de tres monografías y la co-edición de otra, junto con la publicación de 50 artículos y capítulos de libro, algunos de ellos, en revistas y editores de impacto internacional. Todo ello centrado en la investigación de la arquitectura romana desde temáticas y aproximaciones metodológicas diversas. 7.- La participación en congresos y jornadas, sobre todo, desde su etapa posdoctoral en ámbito internacional de reconocido nivel. 8.- La organización de un Curso de Especialización del CSIC, de carácter internacional, que reunió a parte de los especialistas más reconocidos en teatros romanos. 9.- La coorganización de otros congresos internacionales y nacionales; 10.- La obtención de becas en la Real Academia de España en Roma y la Escuela Española de Historia y Arqueología en su etapa predoctoral, así como en el CNRS-Université de Provence en su etapa posdoctoral, siendo hoy investigador asociado de dicho Instituto. 11.- Cuenta además con actividad docente, la codirección de una Tesi di Laurea en la Univ. de Bologna y la asistencia a varios tribunales de Tésis Doctorales y Trabajos de Máster en España y Europa. 12.- Por último, ha sido arqueólogo-técnico responsable del proyecto de integración del teatro romano de Córdoba en la ampliación del Museo arqueológico de la ciudad.

[email protected] My research experience has provided me with a multidisciplinary profile in the analysis of agrifood systems and promotion of sustainable development. Coming from a natural sciences profile (period in which I obtained three research prizes), during the last 6 years I have internationally consolidated my position within the field of sociology of food and agriculture with 55 publications (20 in international peer-reviewed journals -2 under revision-, 2 in specialised journals/webs (CGIAR-CCAFS program), 14 articles in national journals, 2 books, 13 national (10) and international (3) book chapters, one peer-reviewed, and 4 scientific reports), most of them as first or last author, an h-index of 9 and 300 citations (http://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&user=UorcsCkAAAAJ). Since 2008 I am working on adaptation to climate change (CC), policies and indicators for Food Sovereignty (FS) and more recently, the analysis of agri-food systems as complex socioecological systems, using the framework provided by sustainability sciences. With this aim I have coordinated 5 competitive projects (two international). I have supervised one PhD thesis and currently I am supervising 2 more. I have participated in two United Nations international assessments as lead author (after competitive selection), one to analyse the role of agricultural knowledge for sustainability (IAASTD, 2005-2008) and the other in the internationally recognised novel-awarded Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC-AR5, 2011-2014; working group 2: adaptation; chapter 9 of rural areas). I have obtained several predoctoral and postdoctoral grants and as a result I have a strong mobility profile both in Spain and Europe. After a first postdoctoral stay in Wageningen (Holland) in 2006 I moved to the UAB where I coordinated two research projects analysing the food system from the perspective of food sovereignty (FS), studying the existing relationships among production systems, trade and the impacts in the rural population, centered in food security and development and looking at quantitative and qualitative indicators to measure the level of FS at different spatial scales. In 2010 I moved to CREDA, where I have coordinated two international research projects about agriculture and CC, analysing the potentialities of local traditional knowledge to adapt to CC and promote food security, as well the social constraints to its development. I have also coordinated several international scientific seminars and have been invited as keynote speaker in conferences related to the implications of agrifood systems on society and the environment, as well as with FS. Given the multidisciplinary requirements of my research, in 2009 I lead the creation of a research group aiming at analysing food and agriculture under globalisation (www.araguab.cat). Furthermore, I am member of the editorial Board of the International Journal of Sociology of Food and Agriculture and participated as guest editor for the special issue on agriculture and CC. I have been invited by Springer to edit a section on Global Environmental Change and Food Security, within a Handbook project they aim at publishing in 2014 (Handbook on Global Environmental Change). At the end of 2007, I earned a European doctorate with the thesis entitled El significado sistemático de la crítica de los juicios estéticos en el pensamiento de Kant. Contribuciones a la historia del problema de la Crítica del Juicio (The systematic meaning of the critique of aesthetic judgment in the thought of Kant. Contributions to the history of the problem of the Critique of Judgment). My main interest with this work was to offer a reconstruction of the genesis of Kant�s aesthetic project based on a history of his intellectual development since 1770. This is the first research to use the Lecciones de Antropología (Lessons of Anthropology; volume 25.1 and 25.2 of the Akademie-Ausgabe) to study this problem. A revised version of this work has been published by the Olms publishing house (Hildesheim, Zürich & New York, 2010). On the basis of this doctoral research, I have developed work in three related directions: First, sharpening the historiographic focus of this research, I have carried out an extensive work of critical edition and translation in 2007, covering all the material from the corpus of anthropology, metaphysics, and logic which contain notes, class notes, or reflections by Kant on aesthetics (Fragmentos de estética y antropología. Selección a partir de sus Lecciones y Reflexiones del Legado Póstumo, [Fragments of aesthetics and anthropology. A selection from his Lessons and Reflections of the Posthumous Legacy]Comares: in press). The aim is to offer a methodological and historiographic approach useful to research on Kant, the German Enlightenment, and the history of Anthropology. Secondly, the study of the genesis of the critique in any of its facets leads to the Leibniz-Wolff legacy. For this reason, other publications have dealt with this historical link between Leibniz and Kant, in such a way that the initial interest in the aesthetic genesis in Kant has led to a postdoctoral stage in the study of the aesthetic underpinnings of the German Enlightenment from its earliest fundaments in Leibniz. Among the most noteworthy publications is an article in the Kant-Studien, the foremost international journal on Kant. This work has been developed in centers such as the Leibniz-Edition of the Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften (Potsdam, Germany) and the Departamento de Filosofía II de la Universidad de Granada (Spain). Thirdly, this research on the German Enlightenment of Leibnizian origin has developed within the framework of the project �Leibniz en español� [Leibniz in Spanish] (currently P09-HUM.5109 and FFI2010-15914). Among the works is the critical edition and translation of the Obras filosóficas y científicas (Philosophical and Scientific Works) of Leibniz (editor of volume 20, translator of volume 15) and the management of the digital library Biblioteca Hispánica Leibniz (www.leibniz.es; www.bibliotecahispanicaleibniz.es). On the basis of this initial study of historical sources, the proposal now is to develop and broaden this project

[email protected] Desde la tesina elaborada en la Universidad de Yale y el doctorado realizado en Universidad de Johns Hopkins, la candidata ha desarrollado dos líneas de investigación. La primera, sobre la Realeza Femenina en la Monarquía Hispánica durante la época moderna, se articuló en el libro, La Reina Juana. Gobierno, piedad y dinastía (2001), revisado y publicado en inglés en 2005. La elaboración de este trabajo y de 16 de artículos y capítulos relacionados, ha informado un auge historiográfico sobre la realeza femenina tanto en España como en Austria, Francia, Inglaterra, Portugal y los EE.UU. Posteriormente, el intento de concebir la realeza femenina como una élite transnacional, ha permitido profundizar en la construcción y transmisión de sus modelos de comportamiento, en colaboración con el grupo de investigación HUM2005-07069-C05-04HIS, y durante una estancia en la Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies de Harvard University (julio y agosto de 2009) financiada por la Junta de Andalucía. Unas primeras conclusiones al respecto fueron esbozadas en el II Simposio Internacional de Historia Comunera (24 marzo 2010), y han servido como base de la asignatura, �La Realeza femenina de la Monarquía Hispánica en un marco Atlántico y Europeo�, impartida dentro del marco del Máster en Historia de Europa, El Mundo Mediterráneo y su Difusión Atlántica. Métodos y teorías para la investigación, 1492-2000� de la Universidad Pablo de Olavide en 2011 y 2012. La segunda línea de investigación, desarrollada de forma paralela, se centra en la Historia Atlántica. Los fondos del Archivo General de Indias en Sevilla, conjuntamente con los del Archivo de los Condes de Puñonrostro en Madrid, han permitido revisar algunos de los lugares comunes sobre la conquista de América para el libro, Leyenda negra y leyendas doradas en la conquista de América. Pedrarias y Balboa (2008), y el artículo publicado en el último número del Colonial Latin American Review, así como el capítulo �Distance and

Misinformation in the Conquest of America,� en The Limits of Empire (Ashgate, 2012), entre otras ocho publicaciones. Esta investigación se ha visto enriquecida al poder coordinar el Proyecto de Excelencia P09-HUM-5330 dirigido por Bartolomé Yun Casalilla, como investigadora post-doctoral adscrita al mismo en la Universidad Pablo de Olavide (www.upo.es/investiga/productos-atlanticos). Se publicarán los resultados de dos Coloquios Internacionales organizados en el marco del mismo proyecto en Florencia y Sevilla, financiados en parte por la acción complementaria HAR2010-12073, en un tomo actualmente bajo contrato con Palgrave Macmillan. Al profundizar en las dos líneas de investigación desarrolladas ha sido también imprescindible ampliarlas para poder dirigir los trabajos de nueve alumnos (más otros tres en curso) en el marco del programa oficial de

[email protected] Borja Díaz Ariño (Madrid 1978) Doctorado en Zaragoza, 2007, con Mención Europea, Premio Extraordinario y de la Fundación Pastor de Estudios Clásicos. Ha sido becario predoctoral del MEC y de la Fundación Cajamadrid. Desde 2010 es investigador contratado Juan de la Cierva en la UPV, donde participa en labores docentes. Su carrera investigadora, centrada en el estudio de la Hispania republicana, en especial desde una perspectiva epigráfica, tiene una clara vocación internacional. Completó su formación en Roma con estancias en la Escuela Española de Historia y Arqueología bajo la tutela del prof. X. Dupré, con quien colaboró en el proyecto Tusculum, así como en la U. Roma - La Sapienza, en la que estuvo dos años con una beca postdoctoral bajo la supervisión del prof. G.L. Gregori, y, recientemente, en la Fondation Hardt (Ginebra), gracias a una short term fellowship. [email protected] A partir de mi licenciatura en Historia del Arte en 2011 (Premio Nacional Fin de Carrera), mi trayectoria investigadora se ha definido por su perfil internacional a través de diferentes becas de excelencia pre-doctorales y de postgrado, al igual que mediante contratos pos-doctorales en destacadas instituciones europeas. Estas experiencias me han permitido desarrollar varias líneas de investigación sobre el arte y la cultura española y europea durante la Guerra Fría, participar y gestionar actividades nacionales e internacionales de I+D+i a la vez que crear y dirigir una red profesional internacional. Durante mi formación pre-doctoral, mi principal línea de investigación se centró en el estudio de los movimientos abstracto-geométricos en España durante el franquismo, considerando sus relaciones con los discursos estéticos y lo político. Éste constituyó el tema de mi tesis doctoral que terminé con mención europea y con Sobresaliente Cum Laude (y fue publicado por el CSIC). A partir de 2007 como pos-doctoral inicié una nueva línea de investigación centrada en el discurso de la crítica de arte y su papel en la definición del concepto y prácticas de la vanguardia durante el franquismo y la Guerra Fría. De estas investigaciones he generado una bibliografía revistas y editorial académicas internacionales. Hasta el momento mis publicaciones incluyen 3 libros como único autor, 1 libro y 1 número monográfico como editor, 16 capítulos de libros, 3 contribuciones en catálogos de exposiciones, 7 artículos en revistas académicas 21 recensiones de libros y exposiciones. De particular interés es mi libro (en prensa) Constructing the Spanish avant-garde con Liverpool University Press. Mi investigacion se ha presentado a la comunidad cientifica en seminarios y congresos internacionales. He sido invitada a dar conferencias en Europa y en los Estados Unidos (en entre otros Tate Modern, INHA, Heidelberg

Desde el inicio de mi carrera he formado parte de programas de I+D+i, como miembro del equipo de investigación de 4 proyectos nacionales, 1 contrato de colaboración y 1 proyecto europeo. Actualmente dirijo y gestiono como investigadora principal la acción complementaria (ref. HAR2011-13307-E) que cuenta con un equipo de miembros internacional. He sido la directora científica de congresos y mesas redondas internacionales (en París, Liverpool y Madrid) y formo parte del comité científico de diferentes actividades de transferencia en el CCHS (Seminario de Cultura Visual, Semana de la Ciencia). Prueba del renombre nacional e internacional que ha adquirido mi trabajo he sido invitada a formar parte del comité de lectura de expertos de la revista francesa Critique d¿Art y soy miembro del consejo editorial de la publicaciones de Historia del Arte del CSIC. He desarrollado un perfil docente desde mi etapa de pos-doctoral en Inglaterra; una labor que he continuado como profesora invitada con la Universidad de Salamanca y asociada de la Universidad Internacional de La Rioja. Estos cargos me han permitido también elaborar material docente y participar en proyectos de innovación docente.

Education and past positions: Graduated in Biology at the University Paul Sabatier in Toulouse (France) in 1998, I started a PhD in Prehistory at the University of Perpignan (France) and defended in 2002. My PhD dissertation has been published by Archaeopress (Oxford) in 2004. In 2004 and 2005, with the support of a grant from the French ministry of Foreign Affairs, I completed a postdoctoral research at the American Museum of Natural History (New York). From 2005 to 2006, I was awarded the prestigious grant from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to develop my research at the University of Hamburg (Germany). This project permitted me to apply for the first time new methods to archaeological localities in Europe. From February 2007 to January 2012, I worked as ICREA Junior Researcher (Institució Catalana de Recerca i Estudis Avançats) at the Institut Català de Paleoecologia Humana i Evolució Social (IPHES) in Tarragona. My work has been funded by national and European research grants. I was funded from 2007 to 2012 through four grants of the European Commission�s Research Infrastructure Action via the SYNTHESYS Project and in 2008 by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. I recently was awarded a research grant from the Secretaría de Estado de I+D+i del Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad for a project entitled �Paleolithic snapshots of Neanderthal paleoecology� (Ref: HAR2010-19957). Publications and conferences: To date, I have published 43 peer-reviewed articles in major international journals (first author in 27 of them) and 10 book chapters. The articles have received a total of 326 citations yielding an H-index of 11 (Scopus database 11/2012). The publications include 1 Science, 2 Quaternary Science Reviews, 1 Journal of Human Evolution, 5 Journal of Archaeological Science, and 4 Quaternary International. I also presented 60 contributions to national and international conferences (3 invited presentations, 44 talks, and 13 posters). Supervision of students: I have been successful in attracting students. I am currently director of two PhD students at the Université Paul Valéry (Montpellier, France) and Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain), as well as a Master student at the latter university. Research interests: I have a primary research interest in paleoecology of human evolution and its ecological context. The analysis of mammalian fauna from Pleistocene sites provides the framework for studying the evolution of hominins. My research focuses on the impact of climate-driven environmental changes on hominins, and Neanderthals in particular. Examining ungulates teeth, such as bison, deer, horse and mammoth, under a microscope and looking at tooth microwear (the marks left by the food they ate) provides insight into the habitats they roamed just before they died. I am the leader of a team working with the objectives to reconstruct ancient environments, to track shifts related to climatic changes, and to understand Neanderthal behavioral strategies in different ecological settings.

My primary lines of research are voting behavior, public opinion, political leadership, and political socialization. Political participation was one of my earlier areas of inquiry. Under the leadership of Professor Joan Font at UAB, I participated in a project looking at turnout and differential abstention in the Catalan regional elections and later in three large-scale, international research projects on political participation (PART-COM MULTILEVEL, CIVIC ACTIVE, and VTAC). This research has resulted in a number of papers presented at national and international conferences, articles in scientific journals (the most recent of them in Electoral Studies), books (such as �L�abstenció en les eleccions al Parlament de Catalunya�), and book chapters (the last one in an edited volume on the 2009 European election). Another of my research interests has been the role of political leadership on public opinion and voting behavior. This was the subject of my doctoral dissertation on leaders� images and their electoral impact in Spain, supervised by Joan Font. I have authored several papers on leadership effects in general, regional, local, and European elections, some of them have been published as book chapters (the next one to appear in an edited volume by Oxford University Press). I am also the author of the book �Líderes políticos, opinión

pública y comportamiento electoral en España� (CIS, 2009), which won the 2011 Best Book award given by the Spanish Association of Political Science (AECPA). During my postdoctoral stay at the University of California and under the auspices Professor M. Kent Jennings, I started a new line of research on political socialization processes. So far, this research has focused on topics such as the development of party identities in Europe and the transmission of territorial identities from parent to child. A paper on the latter subject, coauthored with Dr Jennings, was published this year in Political Psychology, while some others are in progress. I have had other works on voting behavior published elsewhere (e.g., South European Society & Politics). I am also currently coediting a volume on the 2011 general elections in Spain, funded by the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS) through a competitive tendering process. I have an extended experience in survey design, implementation, and analysis. Thanks to a competitive grant, I stayed one year as a researcher at the CIS. Between 2002 and 2010, I was actively involved in the European

Social Survey (ESS) project, most of the time as a full-time researcher within the Spanish team led by Professor Mariano Torcal at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). This biennial Europe-wide cross-sectional survey is funded by the EC's Framework programmes. Finally, I have taught courses in various subjects (Research Techniques, Political Behavior, Spanish Politics) at the undergraduate and graduate levels, mainly at the UAB but also at other organizations such as the UPF and the CIS.

[email protected] El eje central de mi currículo profesional está relacionado con el estudio del español y la variación lingüísticica (con especial atención en las lenguas románicas). Esta línea de estudio se compone de una parte de investigación, con diversas publicaciones, estancias en centros extranjeros, comunicaciones en congresos, y participación en proyectos de investigación. Mis publicaciones abordan aspectos de la gramática del español (principalmente, sintaxis y morfología), así como las simetrías y asimetrías entre esta lengua y el resto de lenguas románicas. Las revistas en las que aparecen estos trabajos son de reconocido prestigio tanto en el ámbito nacional (p.ej. Verba, Ligüística Española Actual, Revista Española de Lingüística y Dicenda) como en el internacional (Linguistic Analysis, Theoretical Linguistics, Natural Language and Linguistic Theory, y Probus). La mayoría de estos trabajos han sido presentados en congresos internacionales, algunos de los cuales son conocidos por tener un proceso de selección muy exigente, siendo aceptados únicamente entre 20 % y 30 % de resúmenes enviados (e.g., North Eastern Linguistics Society, West Coast Conference on Formal Linguistics, Going Romance, Colloquium on Generative Grammar). La naturaleza de estos estudios es, en muchos casos, teórica, pero también hay presentaciones en las que se ofrece una descripción de determinadas facetas del español sincrónico. De manera puntual, he realizado trabajos sobre aspectos del español en los que se abordaban temas de diacronía y gramática histórica. Gran parte de los trabajos y presentaciones realizados hasta 2007 fueron integrados en mi tesis doctoral (Phase Theory and Parametric Variation), dirigida por el Dr. José María Brucart Marraco y el Dr. Juan Uriagereka López. En ella discuto la noción tradicional de "ciclo" y estudio sus aplicaciones para el estudio de cuestiones lingüísticas de ámbito general, haciendo especial hincapié en determinados fenómenos del español (e.g., orden de palabras, la distinción indicativo/subjuntivo, el ligamiento, la concordancia y los pronombres clíticos). Una versión modificada de la tesis fue publicada en 2010 como una monografía de la colección Linguistics Today, de John Benjamins. He realizado diferentes estancias breves en los siguientes centros: Instituto Universitario de Investigación Ortega y Gasset (Madrid, 2004), University of Maryland (EEUU, 2005), IKER - CNRS (Bayona, 2006), Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Madrid, 2010).

Mi investigación ha tenido una relación natural con las clases que he impartido en la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona desde 2002. La mayoría de los cursos han abordado cuestiones de descripción y norma del español, aunque también he podido impartir cursos avanzados de sintaxis, semántica y pragmática, tanto en la Licenciatura de Filología Hispánica y el Grado de Lengua y Literatura Españolas como en los másteres oficiales de Ciencia Cognitiva y Lenguaje, y Lengua Española y Literatura Hispánica de la UAB. Además, en noviembre de 2010 fui invitado a impartir un curso de doctorado en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina). Por lo que respecta a la gestión, desempeñé el cargo de Coordinador de estudiantes Erasmus y Séneca durante los años 2008-2009 y 2009-2010, y desde febrero de 2011 soy Secretario Académico del Dep. de Filología Española.

[email protected] Mi trayectoria académica se ha desarrollado en centros de investigación españoles y extranjeros de reconocido prestigio internacional y en el marco de 6 Proyectos de Investigación del Ministerio y de 2 Grupos de Investigación de la Universidad de Granada (UGR) y del CSIC dedicados al estudio de la Biblia y al periodo del judaísmo clásico. La ANECA evaluó positivamente mi CV para las figuras de Ayudante Doctor en 2005, y de Contratado Doctor y Profesor de Universidad Privada en 2009. A finales de 2011 la ANEP emitió un informe positivo del conjunto de mi trayectoria científico-técnica y de la actividad desarrollada durante los 4 últimos años. Tras licenciarme en Filología Clásica y Hebrea (UGR) y después de una beca de colaboración en el Dpto. de Griego (UGR) y de otra de intercambio en la Univ. de Tel-Aviv (1999), obtuve una beca para realizar cursos de especialización en el Instituto Español Bíblico y Arqueológico de Jerusalén (2000). Poco después, con la concesión de una beca predoctoral, comencé mis investigaciones en el campo de los estudios bíblicos y rabínicos, ámbitos a los que me dedico desde ese momento hasta hoy. Los primeros años de beca dieron como resultado la defensa del DEA en 2002, con la máxima calificación, y mis primeras publicaciones. Durante la Tesis Doctoral (2002-5) me centré en el estudio de una institución semítica de carácter convival, el marzeah, con paralelos con el thiasos y otros grupos griegos. En este tiempo impartí varias asignaturas en la UGR e

inicié los contactos con el Institut für Judaistik de la Univ, de Viena, donde disfruté de dos estancias. El periodo predoctoral culminó con la obtención del título de Doctor (Cum Laude por unanimidad y Doctor Europeus). Después conseguí una Beca Puente de la UGR (2005-6) que me permitió seguir con la investigación y la docencia. Continué mi formación investigadora en el Institut für Judaistik de la Univ. de Viena (2006-8) gracias a la Beca Posdoctoral del Ministerio, y a inicios de 2008 obtuve una Beca de la Fundación Alexander von Humboldt (= AvH) que disfruté como visiting scholar en la Hochschule für Jüdische Studien (Heidelberg) durante 8 meses. Tuve que aplazar los meses restantes de la beca AvH al obtener un contrato de la UGR dentro del programa de Reincorporación de Doctores. En octubre de 2008 me incorporé como PDI a la UGR, donde he continuado con mis investigaciones e impartido varias asignaturas simultáneamente. En este tiempo he mantenido y ampliado los contactos con centros de prestigio internacionales: a los congresos y las publicaciones (varias por invitación expresa), se le suman las dos estancias breves que he disfrutado en el Institut für Judaistik de la Univ. de Viena en 2010 y 2011, y la obtención de una estancia de investigación en el Institut für Judaistik de la Universidad de Libre de Berlín, financiada por la AvH. Además de las publicaciones en colecciones (libros, capítulos de libro, reseñas) y revistas científicas indexadas (cinco de ellas en puestos muy destacados en el ranking mundial), he desarrollado otras labores de gestión (organización y gestión de congresos, participación en el comité/consejo de revistas, comisión departamental, etc.), y he continuado mi formación como PDI atendiendo al nuevo marco del EEES (participación en cursos específicos de docencia, en workshops sobre investigación, etc.).

[email protected] The applicant�s research trajectory, which has been driven mainly by his own research interests and needs for new skills, is his best proof of initiative and independent thinking. During his engineering studies, he got interested on social aspects of technology. This interest motivated him to join a PhD program relating Technology, Society and Sustainability Development. Missing quantitative tools powerful enough to address the research topics he was interested in, he contacted and eventually joined the research team of Prof. Alex Arenas. Such a group (composed by physicists and computer scientists) was specialized on the analysis of complex networks and agent-based modelling. The applicant learnt about these methodologies while developing his doctoral research. The resulting PhD thesis bridged these two �faces� of his doctoral research in such a way, that other thesis developed afterwards in the same PhD program also applied social networks analysis tools or complexity science concepts. While writing his PhD Thesis, the applicant was selected to join a Chair at ETH Zurich as research assistant. The Chair of Sociology, in Particular Modeling and Simulation is a highly multidisciplinary team, which provided

the applicant with the perfect environment to complete his thesis while collaborating with sociologists, economists, engineers and physicists. Once he obtained his degree, he was offered a postdoc position at the chair as team coordinator at Qlectives FP7 project. Besides improving his methodological skills (especially regarding social modelling and mathematical analysis), he enjoyed an intense experience on international collaboration, and improved team and project management skills. After four years at ETH Zurich, the applicant got in contact with the Institut de Paleoecologia Humana i Evolució Social (IPHES). The institute holds an international leadership position in the field of social role of technology in the context of the first steps of human evolution, and was opening a new research line integrating experts on social modelling and complexity to its research staff. He decided to move back to Spain. The applicant is currently a Marie Curie Research Fellow (Beatriu de Pinós, COFUND Marie Curie Actions) at IPHES. His project aims at developing simulation models to study the first Homo dispersals within Western Eurasia (during the Pleistocene Period) and the role played by technology as a social agent transforming the organization and behaviour of human groups. The applicant develops his work at COMPATHEVOL (COMplex PAThs in Human EVOLution) research team. Its focus is on the application of quantitative analysis to Archaeology, Paleontology and Evolutionary Anthropology. Within this group, the candidate assesses other researchers on quantitative methodologies and has co-proposed a PhD seminar on new methodologies applied to Evolutionary Anthropology. As a postdoc researcher at IPHES, the applicant is also contributing his experience on European projects' preparation and management to the writing of different project proposals. Finally, he is also involved in "Tarragona Smart Mediterranean City" project. As a scientific adviser of Tarragona's Municipality (Spain) for such a project, he contributes his background in Telecom Engineering as well as research experience in Sustainability Science and socio-economic systems.

[email protected] As for education and academic degrees, I hold two 4-years Degrees in Classical Philology (UB) and Hebrew and Aramaic Philology (UB), and a PhD (European Doctorate) in Classical Philology (Area of Indo-European Linguistics), with a thesis on Latin historical verbal morphology, supervised by Prof. Adiego. I obtained three Prizes: 1. Extraordinary Degree Award (UB). 2 Extraordinary Doctorate Award (UB). 3. �Cum Laude 2008� Award (Institut Món Juïc, UB, Generalitat de Catalunya). I speak fluently 5 modern languages and I have learned more than 10 ancient languages. My main research field is Indo-European Linguistics, and I have also published some international articles on Semitics. Nowadays I hold a �Juan de la Cierva� Postdoctoral research position at the UAB and I am Principal Investigator of a competitive research project provided by MiCInn (FFI2009-08835). As for academic positions, I have been a Postdoc Ernst-Mach-Stipendium Research Fellow at the Universität Wien (2009), Adjunct Professor at the Universitat Abat Oliba (2009-2010), Adjunct Professor at the UB (2008-2010), DAAD Research Fellow at the Freie Universität Berlin (2006-2007), PhD Research Fellow at the UB and Freie Universität Berlin and Assistant scholar at the UB. As for publications, I am author of some 20 book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals of international prestige and high impact factor (Glotta, Kadmos, Ugarit Forschungen, Journal of Semitic Studies, Historical Linguistics, etc.). I�m author of a book (630 pgs.) that obtained the �Cum Laude 2008� Award and two very favorable reviews in international journals (Bulletin de la Société de Ling. de Paris and Latomus). It appears also mentioned in international reference books (Garnier 2010, Meier-Brügger 2010, etc.). En las evaluaciones de calidad docente he obtenido puntuaciones cercanas o iguales a la máxima posible. He desarrollado estancias de investigación predoctorales y postdoctorales, invitada por prestigiosos especialistas: Étienvre, U. Sorbonne, Paris IV (Francia, 1999); Schwartz, C.U. New York, Graduate Center (EEUU, 2000, 2001 y 2002); Rey, U. Santiago (2003-2006 y 2008-2012); Jauralde, U. Autónoma Madrid (2009); y Garzelli, U. Siena (Italia, 2010). Desde 1997 he participado en 13 proyectos de edición de las obras completas de Quevedo (prosa y poesía), con financiación nacional y autonómica. Desde 2008 soy coordinadora de los volúmenes publicados (2010-2012 y 2013-2015) en el proyecto nacional, con colaboradores europeos y americanos, y responsable de la línea «Anotación filológica de la poesía de Quevedo». Desde 2010 potencio las relaciones internacionales del grupo, especialmente con Italia: con tal objetivo, soy IP de una acción complementaria nacional (2011) y he recibido una ayuda «José Castillejo» (2010). He publicado o tengo en prensa 4 monografías sobre poesía; 4 ediciones críticas de obras en prosa de Quevedo (Castalia, 2010, 2012, 2013); 25 artículos en revistas de prestigio internacional, las más relevantes en mi área (Bulletin Hispanique, RFE, Signa, BSS, Revista de Literatura, BRAE, Perinola, Criticón, Rilce...); 15 capítulos de libro; y he coordinado 2 volúmenes colectivos (2012, 2013). He organizado actividades internacionales de I+D para el intercambio científico con Francia (con Casa de Velázquez, 2010) e Italia (2011). Soy miembro del consejo asesor científico de La Perinola, Revista de Investigación Quevediana, y he pertenecido al consejo de redacción de NREC (2006-2008) y al comité científico del II Foro Editorial de Estudios Hispánicos y Americanistas (UNE e Instituto Cervantes, 2011-2012). Participo regularmente, con comunicaciones o ponencias invitadas, en congresos internacionales como los organizados por AISO y AIH. Soy directora de tesis y TFM, y participo en tribunales académicos diversos.
