Objective
Seeking an opportunity to increase medical-related field experience and enhance my understanding of
biological applications, including research. I hope to go to medical school in the future, but I’m currently
taking a gap year in order to fully explore my options. In addition, I am interested in improving my
proficiency of the Spanish language.
Experience
Summer Resident Assistant May 2016 – August 2016
Worked for the Housing and Residence Life office of Furman University for the duration of the
summer as a Resident Assistant for students and guests staying on campus.
Mentoring at Frazee Center August 2015 – December 2015
As a part of an education class I had the opportunity to visit the Frazee Dream center on a weekly
basis. Frazee is an after school and summer program that seeks to make a difference in the lives of
under resourced children in the Greenville area. I tutored 3rd to 5th grade girls in math, reading,
spelling, and some writing.
Resident and Guest Assistant June 2015 – August 2015 I worked for the office of Housing and Residence Life of Furman University. I conducted rounds and
had office shifts to facilitate communication between students and visitors, as well as conferences
and camps, with my advisors. As a team we worked to make transitions easier and ensure safety.
This opportunity promoted interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
First Year Advisor – Hall Staff Member August 2013 – May 2015 Peer Mentor for first-year students, mainly incoming freshman. I worked closely with Resident
Assistant to create a safe and comfortable environment on the hall. I was responsible for
supporting hall community and promoting both health and wellness and also academic
achievement in the lives of my residents and other students on campus.

As an officer I collaborated with the outdoor team to come up with trip ideas, organize events, and
increase campus involvement. During my second year as an officer, I was head of PR and lead a team in
order to promote events, trips, and encourage students to get involved in outdoor activities with the club.
