  • #3IheatedthetopandbottomoftheboltusingaMAPPtorch.Thereisametalpowersteeringlinethatrunsveryclosetothebolt.Toprotectit,Iwrappeditinawatersoakedrag.

  • #4Thenusingabreakerbarand3cheaterIwasabletobreaktheboltfree.However,Iwasnotoutofthewoodsyet!

  • #5Evenaftertheboltwasbrokenfreeofthenut,themetalbushingsleeveremainedfrozentothebolt.SoasItwistedthebolt,thecenterofthebushingtwistedwith it. IpushedhardenoughthatIthoughtthebushingwastwistedsofarthatitcouldbreak.IdidntreallywanttotearthebushingapartsoIputapairofViseGripsontheinnersleeveofthebushingandusedacrowbar(yellow)againsttheframetokeep theViseGrips from twisting. WithaLOTof forceon theendof thecheater, thebolteventuallybrokefree(somewhatamazinglytheViseGripshelddespiteallthattorque).

    Anotherpossibilityistosimplytwisttheboltandnotworryiftheinnerpartofthebushingtearsfree.Astheboltisextracteditshouldforcetheinnersleeveofftheboltandthebushingisgoingtobereplacedanyway.IjustdidntwanttodothatbecauseIdidntwanttodestroythebushingincaseIwasntabletogettheboltout.

    Anotherpossibilitywouldbetotryandheattheinnerbushingsleevewithatorchtogetittoexpand.Isuspectthiswouldworkwellbuttheonlyproblemwiththatapproachisthatitwilllikelysetthebushingonfireandmakealotofstinkysmoke.

    Ididalsoapplypenetratingoil,andperhapsithelpedsome.However,itcertainlydidnthelpasmuchastheheat.IdontthinkIcouldhavegottenthisboltoutwithoutusingheat.
