“LUKOIL”, PJSC (“RITEK”, JSC)Srende-Khulymsk oil fieldSredne-Khulymsk oil field (Yamalo-Nenets Auton-omous Area) was launched in 2002. In 2005, ZVEZ-DA-ENERGETIKA, OJSC embarked on implementing the EPC-contract of constructing a gas-piston power plant with a total capacity of 15.5 MW. The Compa-ny specialists were tasked both to meet high demands the Customer placed to the project technical part and offer modern architectural and planning solution. The resulting completed power plant is truly considered an irreproachable in terms of engineereing and eye-catch-ing technical facility.

The project included several new solutions to ensure reliable operation of the power plant. In particular, a system of GPPP emergency unloading during emer-gency stops of one or several gensets was used for the first time that guaranteed the highest reliability level of consumers power supply even at emergency situa-tions at GPPP.

It is noteworthy that after the system implementation full emergency stops of GPPP have come to a halt, and we started installing GPPP emergency unloading sys-tem, which proved to be highly efficient and reliable, on all multi-genset power plants manufactured by ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA.

ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA shift personnel have operated the power plant starting from commissioning thereof.

“LUKOIL”, PJSC (“RITEK”, JSC)Vostochno-Perevalnoye, Galyanovsky, Serginsky oil fieldsUpon successful implementation of the first gas-pis-ton power plant (GPPP) project, “RITEK”, JSC engaged

“ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC to construct power engi-neering facilities at all current and new West Siberia fields. In order to cut expenses and save the custom-er’s construction time, essentially, a standard solution of a block-module (containerized) GPPP version has been developed. Subsequently, such solution enabled to bring two GPPP packages to new promising fields despite their remoteness and inaccessibility.

Initially, the standard power plant pilot project was performed for the Galyanovsky field. The selected package proved to be efficient and easy-to-use, and subsequent application of all technical solutions allowed to commission GPPP within a short time.

After commissioning, the constructed GPPPs are op-erated by “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC and provide a reliable power supply of “RITEK”, JSC fields.

MOL, THE REPUBLIC OF HUNGARYBaytugan fieldEPC-Contract at Baytugan oil field, located on the bor-der between Orenburg and Samara regions, was the first tuebine project of “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA” Compa-ny. Challenge of the project was that iy was necessary to ensure a reliable operation of gensets, using oil-associ-ated gas with limit hydrogen sulphide content – over 3%. Much preliminary efforts were taken to select the equip-ment, a special gas conditioning system was developed. As a result, project with Dresser-Rand turbines gensets was approved, boosting compressor station, operator’s room with PCS, exhaust gases heat recovery system were supplied, a large amount of supervision and start-au and adjustment works were fulfilled.

“LUKOIL”, PJSC Lekkersky oil fieldThe first gas-turbine power plant was built by ZVEZ-DA-ENERGETIKA at Lekkersky oil field (Komi Republic). Four 1.8 MW power units based on KG2-3E engines manufactured by Dresser-Rand and running on oil-as-sociated gas were built in the Company’s production complex. GTPP of co-generation cycle provides con-sumers with electric and heat energy.

The power units were placed outdoor in all-weather containers. The scope of supply also includes a boost-er compressor station, fuel oil treatment unit, opera-tor’s module, and automated control system.

This power plant enables both autonomous operation and parallel operation with other power sources, in-cluding Komienergo grid system. GTPP equipment, hardware, and panels meet the ergonomical requirements. The power plant does not require 24-hour attendance.

With regard to climatic conditions of the Extreme North, the power plant is equipped with an anti-icing system, ensuring automatic air heating. The automatic control system (PCS) protects the power plant against going beyond the set limits under all modes of opera-tion. Modern design solutions utilized in GTPP build-ing provide 3rd degree of fire resiatance and C0 (C1) structural fire hazard class thereto.

“GAZPROM NEFT” PJSCYaraynersky oil fieldYaraynersky oil field was discovered in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area of Tyumen region in 1973. The near-est large populated area – Noyabrsk city – is located 115 km to the West of the field. “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA” built the first stationary gas-piston power plant, using associated gas, at Yaraynersky oil field as a turnkey project.

Uniqueness of the project was was in the challenge to operate gensets, using heavily fume-laden gas with abruptly changing methane number and aerosol oil fractions content. Custom-made gas conditioning equipment was used to provide for gas treatment and conditioning.

The complex facility was built under EPC-Contract model, when all works were made on a turnkey basis with a fixed contract price. To keep the short term of the plant construction the Project Manager developed the approved schedule of all counterparties interac-tions with fixed milestones to ensure timely prepa-ration of facilities for commissioning. The schedule totally paid off – the plant was commissioned in time with high quality of performed works. The experience, gained from interaction with subcontractors, was sub-sequently applied at other facilities of “ZVEZDA-ENER-GETIKA”, JSC.

“SOROVSKNEFT”, LTD.Sorovsk fieldSorovsk field was discovered in 2002, it is located 150 km to the South-West from Nefteyugansk and 137 km to the North from Khanty-Mansiysk. In December 2012 the field was placed under test production. Since the field was developed gradually and there was no imme-diate need in a large amount of electric power, it was decided to build a gas-piston power plant in 2013, grad-ually adding power as the customer’s demand grew.

Construction of oil-associated gas power plant with to-tal capacity of 15MW included three stages. At the first stage 7.5 MW equipment was installed, at the second stage – 4.5 MW equipment, at the third stage – 3.0 MW equipment. Each stage was implemented in slight-ly over a year. Work schedule had to take into consid-eration a seasonal factor of the equipment delivery by winter road. A planned plant expansion was taken into account upon the project documentation development, thus, ACS system and the operator’s workplace were planned, allowing for upgrade upon further expansion.

The gas-piston powerplant, built at Sorovsk field, en-abled the customer to bring oil-associated gas recov-ery up to 98%, which is one of the best figures in the industry. Nowadays, “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC op-erates the constructed GPPP.

“VARYEGANNEFTEGAZ”, PJSC (IN PROGRESS)Verkhnekolik-Yegansk field. 24 MW GTPP constructionVerkhnekolik-Yegansk oil field (Tyumen region) was put into production in 1990. It was decided to establish

“UKS Nizhnevartovsk” separate subdivision in Nizh-nevartovsk to build 24 MW gas-turbine power plant (GTPP), which implied a large amount of construction and mounting works. By establishing a separate sub-division “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC enhanced sub-contractors intreraction at the facility. It also enabled to cut general costs of construction and mounting op-erations, to ensure more efficient interaction with the customer’s subdivisions and to provide current man-agement of the project logistics with regard to delivery of a large amount of sand, gravel, concrete and other materials to the construction site, located in a swamp area. ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA’s experience of creating a separate subdivision fully paid off and will be applied thereafter at other facilities.

GTPP includes five Siemens 5.2 MW containerized gas-turbine gensets, which are installed in the main building, upper-level control system in a separate op-erator’s room; gas compressor plant, installed in a separate building; oil-associated gas treatment unit; pumping station building and emergency water reser-voirs; flare system unit.

EPC-Contract was performed on project financing conditions subject to ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA’s starting a dedicated credit line and undertaking correspond-ing risks, related to timely performance of the contract and high quality of construction and mounting opera-tions. The facility will be commissioned in 2016.

“VOSTSIBNEFTEGAZ”, PJSC (IN PROGRESS)Power supply of the site facilities of con-tracting organizations’ base at Yurubcheno-Tokhomsk oil, gas and condensate fieldZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA, JSC entered into the EPC-Con-tract for construction of 9.9 MW stand-alone power plant, intended to provide power supply of the site fa-cilities of the base, owned by contracting organizations, participating in development of Yurubcheno-Tokhomsk oil, gas and condensate field in the Krasnoyarsk Terri-tory, in 2014 and the indicated contract is being im-plemented now.

To cut capital expenses to construction it was decided to use Rusian crude oil engines, produced by “Kolo-mensky Works”, JSC, as a generating source. As the field is located far away from large populated areas, use of crude oil engines resulted in considerable im-provement of project economics, decrease of transport expenses to long-distance fuel delivery by dirt roads.

The power plant, designed as a uniform connecting passage, includes six 6.3 kV Zvezda-1650VK-05M3 type module power plants with single capacity of 1650 kW.

The plant operates on crude oil, while diesel fuel is used for start and shut thereof. Considering dual-fu-el mode of the plant operation, a special engineering solution was developed for the fuel supply system and the hot water heated tank farm.

The set of auxiliary equipment also includes two con-tainerized power factor correction systems, contain-erized operator’s room (PCS), 109 kW emergency DPP, diesel fuel pumping station and consumables module, fuel oil treatment unit, booster station and other equipment.

“GAZPROM NEFT RAZVITIE”, LTD. (IN PROGRESS)Power supply complex of “Novy Port” oil ter-minal at the Gulf of Ob, Novoportovsk fieldEPC-Contract for design, manufacture and construc-tion of a modern power supply complex, intended to provide power supply of “Novy Port” oil field at the Gulf of Ob, is a milestone for “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC within the context of the import substitution programs implementation. It took nine months to fulfill the works under the project. The package of the supplied equip-ment included: stationary building with utilities, nine oil-diesel gensets, operating on engines of “Kolomen-sky Works” with total electric capacity of 15 MW, oil treatment units, automated control system and indoor switchgear.

The power supply system is located in the stationary easy-to-assemble building in corporate color scheme of “Gazprom Neft” OJSC. The building includes all necessary amenity and staff rooms for the personnel. Crude oil is the main fuel of the power supply compex, however diesel-fuel operation mode is also provided for.

Inspite of short terms and large amount of works, all equipment was shipped in June 2013 in strict com-pliance with the contract. Over 8000 items were de-livered in two stages: by land to the Surgut river port and further on by water to the Cape kamenny (Yamal peninsula).

Process control system (PCS) was developed for the power supply complex. PCS allows to control the basic and auxiliary equipment, including 9 oil-diesel gensets 1650 kW each and 200 kW emergency diesel plant, in all modes of operation.

Moreover, “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC ful-filled construction and mounting operations and start-up and adjustment works.

It is to be noted that the constructed power plant is the second facility “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC built for “Matyushkinskaya Vertikal”, Ltd. Previously, “ZVEZ-DA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC commissioned gas-piston pow-er plant with “Knowledge Database” intelligent system for power plant process control system, developed by PCS Department of “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC

This development was required to address the follow-ing issues: the operator, running the power plant, not always was able to respond promptly when the system sent some error code, to find the faulty unit in short time and to take a certain decision to eliminate faults. The intelligent system, developed by “ZVEZDA-ENER-GETIKA”, JSC, displays not only code definition, but also the instruction on elimination thereof. The cus-tomer of the development rated the “Knowledge Data-base” very high.

“Yamal LNG” project provides for 16.5 mln t/year liq-uefied natural gas (LMG) plant, using resource base of the South-Tambey field, located at the North-East of the Yamal peninsula. It is planned to start LNG produc-tion in 2017.

ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA’s participation in the large-scale international project “Yamal LNG” is a milestone for the Company as it provides an opportunity to master international design and engineering standards.

“ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC developed technical and project documentation for emergency power supply of the LNG plant under construction, delivered six Wart-sila gensets with 8.8 MW unit capacity. At present, su-pervision and construction and mounting operations are performed at the facility.

“VORKUTAUGOL”, JSCConstruction of 17.4 MW coalmine methane co-generation plant ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA Company implemented a large-scale project on design, manufacture, delivery and commissioning of 17.4 MW total capacity block-mod-ule gas-piston power plant with heat recovery, using coalmine methane as fuel, and reconstruction of two substations: ПС 110/6,6/6,3 kV, 10000/110 trans-former capacity; and 35/6 kV “Severnaya” substation, 16000/35 transformer capacity.

GPCGPP is meant for thermal and electric power supply of “Severnaya” mine consumers, and substations are an important link between gas-piston co-generation plant of “Vorkutaugol”, JSC and consumers, therefore, substations reconstruction is a necessary condition of consumers connection to the mains and uninterrupt-ible power supply.

Project and detail co-generation plant documentation was developed, equipment of two module 2MW unit capacity MWM gensets-based power units was devel-oped and manufactured within the project. The Com-pany also developed the fuel gas treatment system and reconstructed the heat point of the mine.

The project of co-generation plant construction for “Severnaya” mine was a pilot one for “ZVEZDA-ENER-GETIKA”, JSC and innovative for Russian coal industry.

Uniqueness thereof is that gas-piston power plant op-erates on coalmine methane at relatively low methane concentrations in the mixture, which is also subject to considerable fluctuations – from 25 to 70%. Opera-tion mode of the power plant – parallel with the mains, power is delivered to the mains. GPCGPP can generate 110.5 MW/h of electric power and over 56,700 Gcal of thermal power per year.Use of colliery gas for generation is a quite compli-cated engineering task, implying not only design and construction of the power plant itself, but also devel-opment of gas treatment systems and optimization of the power plant operation modes. GPCGPP satisfies current strict technical safety requirements.

TOO “KAZAZOT” (IN PROGRESS)40 MW co-generation plant, Aktau

“ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC is currently constructing auxiliary co-generation power plant (CGPP) for “Ka-zAzot” plant, located in Aktau, Republic of Kazakhstan. Electric power of the gas-piston co-generation plant will make 40 MW. CGPP will be based on four Wartsi-la 20V34SG gensets 10 MW unit capacity each. The power plant will also include the heat recovery system, waste-heat boilers of 17.5 TSH total capacity, which will be used for process needs of the plant production. Upon the power plant construction three existing sub-stations will also be reconstructed to provide power supply to the consumers and parallel operation with the mains. Under the contract “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC will provide a turnkey construction of the power plant, the company will act as the general designer and the general contractor, it will supply the equipment to the facility, fulfill mounting, supervision, start-up and adjustment operations. It is planned to finish the co-generation plant con-struction in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The co-generation plant commissioning will enable to enhance reliability of power supply, provided to

“KazAzot’ enterprise, which is the only ammonia and ammonium nitrate producer in the Republic of Kazakh-stan. Own electricity and heat source will enable the plant to operate regardless of power supply irregulari-ties and increases of electricity rates.

“YAMALKOMMUNENERGO”, JSCPower supply of Yar-Sale settlement,Tyumen region“ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC performed EPC-Contract on upgrading of the existing diesel power plant in Yar-Sale settlement of Tyumen region, increasing electric and thermal capacity of the only power source at the settlement.

Previously, the power plant included several diesel gensets of different manufacturers, which had reached the end of their service life by the start of the proj-ect. The project was implemented in three stages. At the first stage in 2007 four main DPP and one standby plant were installed. At the second stage in 2009 two more DPP were installed, and in 2014 – two additional power plants were installed. All the main generating equipment is produced by MTU.

Upon the project implementation special requirements, related to boggy ground and closeness of the power plant to apartment buildings, were taken into consider-ation. Therefore, practically new DPP was built on a piled foundation at the initially prepared dam, the noise shield was installed along the perimeter of the power plant.

Currently, “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC is enhancing capacity of the constructed power plant.

GAS INDUSTRY

Generic solution “Unified auxiliary power plant set of equipment” was initially developed by “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC for “GAZPROM”, PJSC to reduce capital and operating expenses at the main gas pipe-line. Costs were reduced by means of generic engineering and design solutions, packaged supply of equipment and reduction of terms with regard to all types of works: from design to commissioning.

The unified set includes gas-piston block-module power plants with heat recovery, standby diesel power plants, PCS, heat supply stations, closed switchgear, PTS, connecting passages. Engineering solutions provide for an opportunity of further expansion and enhancement of installed capacity.

“GAZPROM TRANSGAZ UKHTA”, LTD.Main Gas Pipeline (MGP) Bovanenkovo-UkhtaBovanenkovo-Ukhta main gas pipeline construction is the most important project on development of the Yamal peninsula. Mains power supply is insufficient in this region, therefore compressor stations are provid-ed with electric and thermal power from auxiliary power plants along the entire length of the gas pipeline.

“ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC implemented the project on Bovanenkovo-Ukhta MGP power supply from de-sign to manufacture and installation of power plants, supervision, start-up and adjustment works, spare parts supply and after-sales services. Unified sets were delivered with ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA process control systems, providing for parallel operation of the power plants, connecting passages and auxiliary mod-ules, enabling to maintain power plants in comfortable conditions. In order to fulfill works at the scheduled time, “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC for the first time powder-coated containers in a special paint-spraying booth. The implemented projects also included the following works: design, manufacture and delivery of power units, additional equipment, PCS, heat recovery systems, erection supervision operations, start-up and adjustment operations, training.

“ATOMENERGOPROEKT”, JSC (IN PROGRESS)Standby and emergency power supply of Novovoronezhskaya NPPNovovoronezhskaya NPP, located 42 km away from Voronezh, has been operated since 1964. The second stage of the power plant is being built near the existing NPP. Capacity of each reactor unit of the new plant will be 1150 MW.

The project provides for 4 emergency and 2 stand-by diesel power plants with total capacity of 36 MW, which serve as power sources of safety systems and are meant to provide operation of the main power unit equipment upon emergency protection tripping. Sta-tionary NDPPs are located at the site of the power park, de-signed to protect the equipment from all external effects.

The Company’s specialists developed project and engi-neering documentation. All the delivered equipment is allowed for use at nuclear power facilities. Two stand-by diesel power plants are IV safety class, four NDPP – II O safety class.

At the end of 2015 three first stage power plants un-derwent acceptance testing, proving that the equip-ment is fully ready for industrial operation.

Two underground power plants Zvezda-100 NS-MM3-BB were also supplied for Novovoronezhskaya NPP to back up physical protection stations.

Diesel co-generation plant with total capacity of 3 MW is meant for power supply of the mining and process-ing complex facilities: rotation camp, waste treatment facilities of the complex and gold-processing plant.

The scope of the delivery included three Zvezda-1000VK-02M3 DPP modules, including the heat re-covery system, with unit capacity of 1000 kW, paint-ed in the customer’s corporate color scheme, 6.3 kV switchgear with main distribution board and auxiliary transformer, heat supply station module and diesel fuel warehouse.

For convenience of the personnel, working in the Extreme North area, the power complex includes connecting passages and a pumping unit to pump oil from drums in the operator’s room module and oil facilities to ser-vice reservoirs of DPP modules.

Specialists of “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC performed erection supervision, start-up and adjustment opera-tions and trained the attending personnel.

“Mosavtosteklo” works is one of the oldest glass works in Russia, established in 1924. Nowadays, the works is a powerful enterprise, producing high-tech glass products.

The implemented project on stand-alone power supply enabled to reduce electric and thermal power supply expenses by several times as a result of using gas-pis-ton power plants with heat recovery systems, operat-ing on natural gas,.

The project included 2-stage design, manufacture and supply of two gas-piston power plants, main distribu-tion board equipment, process control system and 3.6 MW gas water boiler, construction, start-up and ad-justment and erection supervision operations.

The project had been implemented during 2012 – 2013 and the customer accepted the project in August 2013 as it was.

“Tatspirtprom”, OJSC is the largest company of the Ta-tarstan Republic, including over 13 spirits producers. To cut expenses and supply Usadsk Distilling Plant’s need in thermal and electric energy, “ZVEZDA-ENER-GETIKA”, JSC implemented the project on construction of 3.5 MW gas-piston co-generation plant. The power plant is an additional source of power supply for the Distilling Plant. Electrical connection scheme was de-veloped based on the power plant connection, using two 10.5 kV feeder cables at РУВН-10.5kV busbar sec-tion in the distribution transforming substation.

The co-generation plant is meant to supply auxilia-ry thermal needs of the steam boiler and to partially serve the load of the plant consumers’ heating, hot wa-ter supply systems.

Specialists of “ZVEZDA-ENERGETIKA”, JSC also performed erection supervision operations under the contract.

“NOVY URENGOY GAS CHEMICAL FACILITY”, LTD.Novy Urengoy Gas Chemical facility is a new large en-terprise, producing ethylene and polyethylene, with a com-plex process cycle, requiring uninterrupted power supply.

Works under the project started in 2007, arctic ver-sions of when 1600 kW DPP and subsequently 630 kW DPP were supplied to provide power supply of the rotators’ camp at a new production plant. In 2011

The supply package also included 10kV AVK generator and 3000 running hours spare parts set. Since 2015 410kW diesel powerplant is used as a standby power source of the administra-tive building.

All the installed power plants are designed to be oper-ated in conditions of permanently frozen soil and insuf-ficient water supply.
