Public Outreach

• There have been thirteen presentations to local geological societies, government agencies, academic conferences, etc. 

• KGS has made eleven formal presentations to professional conferences 

• Four presentations to local officials.

• We have had eight news releases

• Forty three news articles published in at least twelve newspapers and newsletters

• We have also have had coverage on numerous web pages and blogs including the project’s own web page

• And we have received coverage on local television stations

The KGS introduced the project to about fifty people on April 28, 2008 at the Hancock County Development 

Center during a meeting of the Hancock County Fiscal Court. 

• Prior to our deep seismic investigations we held another public meeting in conjunction with Hancock Fiscal Court at the courthouse for approximately twenty four people on October 27, 2008
