Learning Journey to Chingay 2016

CNY Concert 农历新年庆祝会 (P1-P6)

CPS welcomed the Year of the Monkey with a wide range of activities, such as treasure hunts

to spot cheeky monkey, classroom decoration competition craft work conducted by parents

support group. The final concert included a skit put up by our pupils, lion dance and sing-along

sessions. Everyone had a red packet too as a form of well-wishes from the school. The

celebration has been a memorable experience for everyone in the CPS family!

The annual Chingay National Education show was organised specially for

our graduating P6 pupils aiming to provide them with a unique opportunity

to experience one of the well-received events here in Singapore. The

show offers an great opportunity for performers as well as community

members to come together and present the wonderful mix of cultures that

Singapore possesses. The event offered the pupils an unforgettable

learning journey which opened their eyes and minds to the true meaning

of "One People, One Singapore",

CPES Programme 戏剧鉴赏

Selected students were exposed to Chinese Language related cultural performances and

programmes by professional organizations. The performances included a musical

performance, "The Three Billy Goat Gruff" 音乐剧《三只山羊》and children drama, “Journey

to the West” 儿童剧 《西游记》 “Journey to the West”.

Drama Enrichment Programme This programme enabled our pupils to develop their expressive skills and build up their

confidence in speaking through a variety of activities such as voice projection and role-

playing. At the end of the programme, each pupil received a DVD capturing their final

performance.

To create a conducive

environment to promote

MTL usage and learning

outside MTL classrooms,

our school organized a

CL Games Day for our

pupils. Language game

booths such as “接龙、人

体字形、宾果、甲骨文、

比手画脚” were set up.

These activities provided

platforms for pupils to

actively learn MTL and

the associated cultures

so as to experience MTL

as ‘living languages’.

Through the various

language competitions, the

aims were to cultivate pupils’

passion for learning Chinese

Language and develop their

interest towards Chinese

culture

were held.

Twinning Programme

(Shantou Chao Yang Experimental School)

This programme aims to provide an interactive and authentic

experience for our sister school from China on Singapore's

teaching and learning as well as our unique multi-cultural and

multi-racial society. The Chinese Department organised a

variety of well designed, informative, educational, and

entertaining activities for our guests, making it an

unforgettable journey for our sister school.

Cultural Enrichment Programme

The Chinese Cultural Enrichment

Programme aims to expose pupils to

the rich Chinese culture through arts

& crafts thus, fostering interest in

learning Chinese Language. At the

end of P6 education, our pupils

would have been exposed to 4 types

of traditional arts & crafts such as

Bean Portrait, Dough Modelling,

Chinese Paper Cutting and Chinese

Mask Painting.
