The addi(on of flowers to a home is a good touch of radial symmetry. However having fresh flowers can be a pain to keep up wit. There are many crea(ve ways to add flowers to your home without actually adding flowers to your home.
Balance
Let your crea(ve juices flow! 34
Most people like things to be symmetrical however asymmetry can add a nice touch to a southern home. Many things aren’t symmetrical and that can be a good thing. Its hard to make everything symmetrical so embrace asymmetry. It is becoming more and more popular.
To accomplish asymmetrical balance in your home you can place different objects at varying distances from the center point.

Harmony
36
The unity of the lines in the carpet complete the room and turns a boring southern room into an exci(ng one. Be careful not to add too many lines though because in can end up being chao(c and overwhelming.
Without the repe((ve lines in the carpet the love seat and the two sofas would appear boring but the uniqueness of the carpet helps (e the whole room together.
37
The unity of color can be seen in the light blues seen in each of the pieces of furniture and and in the rug. It may be hard to see in the above
picture, however the unifying color is the baby blue. Adding the unity of color, especially the light blue can make a southern home that much
more elegant.
Without the unity of the baby blue the room may not mesh well!
38
Variety though materials as seen in the picture above is a great way to spice up a southern home and can add contrast which can make a room exci(ng. There is wood and glass in the center table, The candle s(ck holder is made of metal, and the couch is
made of some cloth material.
Variety can be easy to add to any home, variety is everywhere, and oKen goes unno(ced but when materials are combined correctly it can make home unique.
Harmony

The unity through lines is apparent in the dining room set. This dining room set is a liLle less formal and would look very nice in a typical, everyday ea(ng area. The horizontal and ver(cal lines are present in the chairs and table. The lines help bring together the
en(re set.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Add a beau(ful flower arrangement to the table to add contrast from all the straight lines
