OnSaturdayOctober25th,PrimeMinisterNarendraModiisscheduledtoarriveinMumbaifortheinaugurationoftheSirHNRelianceFoundationHospitalandResearchCenter.Foundedin1925,thehospital has been rebuilt by Reliance Foundation under the leadership of its Chairperson, NitaAmbani.PMModihasacceptedtheinvitation.

TheHistoricSignificanceoftheSirHNRelianceFoundationHospital

FormerlyknownasSirHurkisondasNurrotumdasHospital,itwasthefirstgeneralhospitalinthecityandislocatedintheheartofSouthMumbai.Itslonghistoryincludes,witnessingtheSecondWorldWaraswellasIndia'sstruggleforfreedom.MahatmaGandhiwasamongstthefrequentvisitorsofthisprominentmedicalfacility.

TheSilverJubileeofthisfacilitywascelebratedwithSardarVallabhbhaiPatelastheChiefGuestwhileJayaprakashNarayanwaspresentatitsGoldenJubileecelebrations.Currentlyinits90thyear,itsnewavatarwillbeinauguratedbyIndia'scurrentPrimeMinister.

StateoftheArtMedicalFacility

The new hospital consists of a modern 19storey tower along with two heritage wings. ThroughcollaborationswithJohnHopkins,MDAndersonCancerCenteratMassachusettsGeneralHospitalaswellastheUniversityofSouthernCalifornia,thehospitalintendstodeliverhighqualityhealthcare.

Furthermore, the facilitywill also be equippedwith infrastructure for robotic surgeries and onlineconferencingforconsultationswithspecialistsfromaroundtheworld.Thisstateoftheartfacilitywillbe spreadover8 lakh square feet andwill consist of theall the latest clinical technologies across anumberofcorespecialtiesincludingdiagnosticsandimaging.

Thecurrentoutreachprogramcoversover310,000individuals thatreceivepreventiveandprimaryhealthcareatvirtuallynocostbyleveragingdigitalplatforms.Inadditiontothis,theSirHNRelianceFoundationHospitalhasalsochartedoutnecessary steps toadopt localareasas their commitmenttowardstheSwacchBharatAbhiyan.Thegeneralwardsofthisfacilityplanondeliveringstandardizedandhighqualitytreatmentevenforthosecitizensthatareatthebottomofthepyramid.
