THANKSGIVINGI thank my heavenly father for answering our

prayers. In His time, He called Dr Winnie Chan and Mrs Cherrie Liu to join our counselling team, as well as two very experienced pastors, Rev. David Yung of St. Paul’s Anglican Church Kogarah and Rev. John Yao of Padstow Chinese Congregational Church to join our Advisory Committee.

I also thank the Advisory Committee, the Management Committee, staff, volunteers, and everyone who has been supporting FLC ministry in the past year through prayers, donations or voluntary work. Special thanks also go to the Chinese Baptist Church for allowing us to use their church premises for so many years as our city-based counselling centre.

MINISTRY UPDATEIn April, a few of us attended the Australia &

New Zealand Chinese Coordination Centre of World Evangelism (CCCOWE) conference in Adelaide. We shared our ministry with delegates who came from all over Australia, New Zealand and even from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, and many of whom were particularly supportive of the Pastoral Renewal Ministry (PRM) which we started in 2014. This year, PRM has served a total of 75 pastors, missionaries, theological students, and their spouses. The number is significantly more than last year’s. This might be due to more widespread recognition of our ministry, or it may actually reflect increased needs.

We continued to partner with the Chinese Theological College Australia by providing personality tests to interested students. The results are strictly kept confidential and follow-up counselling sessions may also be arranged. We hope that this may help them better know and prepare themselves and prepare for the many challenges in ministry, and reduce the chances of falling into temptation.

We also organised a Pastoral Tea Gathering in June which around 10 pastors attended. These meetings aim to forge closer ties and to increase cooperation with churches in terms of our counselling services and psychological educational initiatives. We hope that these gatherings can be held regularly in the future.

SHARING“So neither the one who plants nor the one

who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labour. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.” (1 Cor. 3:7-9)

I thank my heavenly father for the opportunities to serve pastorally, to contribute in theological education and to be involved at FLC. I witnessed how God works in these different ministries, and how wonderful it is when different ministries serve together with mutual support and encouragement. We dare not take any credit for what we do, but we long to see God’s transformative work in the lives of those who call him Lord. May all the glory and honour be to our heavenly Father, the one who is always kind and merciful to us.

LOOKING AHEADWe humbly pray for:

1. a more acute awareness of the counselling and psychological educational needs within the Chinese communities;

2. a closer tie with Chinese church leaders so as to be more helpful in serving the churches;

3. a wider reception amongst spiritual leaders of our personality tests for people in ministry;

4. more retired and gifted pastors to join our PRM; and

5. the continued provision of operational expenses, volunteers and prayer warriors.

Thanksgiving & Prayer－ 感恩及代禱 －

1. We pray for a peaceful resolution to the turmoil in Hong Kong soon and for the many people and families in Hong Kong and around the world that have been pained and distressed by the situation. May His love, justice, peace and reconciliation be bestowed upon us all.

我們亦感謝顧問委員會、管理委員會、同工，義

務同工，以及所有在過去一年為我們代禱、奉獻支

持及義務參與的朋友。我們更要感謝中央浸信會多

年來容許我們使用他們教會的物業，作為市中心的

輔導室。

事工動向

在4月份，我們幾位同工有機會出席今屆在南澳亞德雷德市舉行的澳洲新西蘭華福會議，與來自澳

紐、香港、台灣、馬來西亞等地區的代表同見證上帝

的工作，亦藉此機會向來自澳洲其他地區的教牧領袖

介紹晨光的事工，特別是我們在2014年開始的教牧更新事工，很多與會者都認同這個事工的重要性。

今年進入第五個年頭的教牧更新事工所服事的教

牧同工、宣教士、神學生(包括他們的配偶)，共達75

人，比去年有明顯的增長；這可能因為事工開始被人

認識，也可能反映需求增加。

我們繼續與澳洲華人教牧神學院合作，為神學生

提供事奉人員性格評估分析，學員可自由參與，分

析結果不單絕對保密，學員更可選擇安排與我們的

專業輔導員就結果有進深的討論，希望他們在未進

入事奉工場前，對自己的恩賜和限制有更準確的認

識，更能預備面對將來各樣的挑戰，減低墮入試探

能定期進行，使晨光無論在輔導和心理教育兩方面都

與眾教會能夠有更緊密的聯繫和合作。

感謝父神，讓我有機會在教會牧養上、在神學院

教導上、在機構事奉上有份參與，見證上帝在不同工

場上的作為，也見證到在不同事工上的弟兄姊妹，互

相配合，彼此守望互勉，實是美事，也是上帝所喜悅

的。我們所做的算不得什麼，但當我們能與神同工，

看見上帝如何叫屬祂的人生命成長，那實在是最好不

過。願一切榮耀頌讚歸給我們在天上、那位以恩慈憐

憫對待我們的父神。

In order to help people with more comprehensive perspective, she pursued a DoctoralDegreeinMinistry(SpiritualDirection)atGraduateTheologicalFoundation,U.S.A.and completed the course in 2017.

CherriewasborninHongKongandmovedtoSydneywhenshewas17yearsold.ShecompletedaBachelorofSocialScience(Honours)inPsychologywithdistinctionattheUniversityofNewEngland.Priortothat,shecompletedaGraduateDiplomainCounsellingatMorlingCollege,aMasterofCommerceattheUniversityofNewSouthWalesandaBachelorofBusinessattheUniversityofTechnology,Sydney.

Cherrie is passionate in walking alongside and helping others in their struggles and pain. Sheiscommittedtoprovideasafe,supportiveandprofessionalcounsellingserviceandsheenjoysworkingwithclientsofallages.Shehasexperienceinworkingwithchildrenand helping parents/carers to build up resilient children and strong family relationships. CherrieismarriedtoNicholasandtheyhavetwochildrenaged11and8.TheyattendLifeChurch at Castle Hill.

陳謝麗婷博士 (輔導員/心理諮詢師/靈命導師)

Winnie 於1994年畢業於美國阿拉巴馬大學，獲得社會工作碩士學位，專攻精神健康。她還分別於2002年和2008年獲頒中國神學研究院的基督教研究文憑和碩士學位。為了提供更全

面的幫助，她於美國研究生神學基金會攻讀教牧學博士學位 

(靈命導引)，並於2017年完成該課程。

Winnie 在輔導、社會工作、培訓和教學方面擁有超過25年的豐富經驗，曾於公營機構和私營跨國企業提供服務，當中包

括來自不同行業，各個社會階層及面對各種家庭、個人和工

作相關問題的人士。她於2018年定居悉尼，開始另一段回應她生命中受呼喚的旅程，繼續與有需要的人同行。

廖郭冠姿女士 (輔導員/心理諮詢師)

Cherrie 出生於香港，17歲時移居悉尼。她在新英格蘭大學獲得了心理學社會科學(榮譽)學士學位。在此之前，她在Morling College 完成了輔導研究生文憑，在新南威爾士大學完成了商業碩士學位，也在悉尼科技大學完成了商業學士學位。

Cherrie 熱衷於幫助他人，更會用心聆聽受助人的掙扎和痛苦。她致力於提供安全和專業的輔導/諮詢服務支持各個年齡

的人。Cherrie 亦擁有豐富教育兒童及幫助父母牢固家庭關係的經驗。Cherrie 與丈夫德政有兩個兒女(11歲和8 歲)。他們參與位於Castle Hill 的 Life Church 的聚會。
